Kate Gosselin Speaks! Jon Retaliates!!
Filed under: The GosselinsAmerica was locked in last night to watch the "life changing" announcement from Jon and Kate Gosselin on their reality TV shit-show. It was no surprise that the couple announced their impending divorce plans.
While the actual episode only alludes to a separation, according to the papers filed yesterday, the couple have forged ahead for a full divorce.
Kate has not been heard from much since her media tour defending Jon in early May, but she just released a statement explaining the recent developments of her relationship with Jon:
"Over the course of this weekend, Jon's activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children. While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children."
And even though he supposedly hates all the media attention, Jon went ahead and released his own statement- and a much longer one at that!
"This afternoon, Kate filed for divorce. Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn’t change that. This will be a difficult transition for all of us, but Kate and I will work out a schedule that enables our kids to have plenty of quality time with both of us at home in Pennsylvania. In terms of my marriage, it’s no secret that the past six months or so have been very difficult for Kate and me. We are no different than other couples and parents who are facing a crossroads in their marriage. I am of course deeply saddened that we are divorcing."

Quite frankly, we're pretty appalled by how they are handling this and we think in ten years time, when their kids will be able to watch these videos back and read the tabloids themselves, they are going to see and feel the gravity of this situation they've created.
But we see no end in sight from this media firestorm, especially when now Jon is a free man whose probably going to party is Ed Hardy-loving ass off and Kate is going to play the struggling single mom card all the way through to the end of the season.

Well if they don't look sad to you, Perez, then you probably should have watched the show in its entirety instead of just the clips. Kate seemed very regretful and sad… she was on the verge of tears during most of the show.
I will agree that Jon, on the other hand, did not seem sad about the divorce and the results of their decision.
I've watched the show every week since it started and always disliked Kate- thinking she was too harsh on Jon. However, since the beginning of this season he seems completely disinterested in his family life and she seems at a loss in terms of trying to reconcile and work things out.
I was sad when i watched this last night….even though i knew it was coming.
Very sad for all the kids. Wish their parents would have made them the priority.
i actually thought Kate looked extremely sad and shooken up in all of her interviews on the show last night. i had to turn it off because it made me so uncomfortable. i think tlc is being distateful…it feels like an invasion of privacy.

Honestly perez… I can't begin to understand how you can take so much pride and joy in displaying the unfortunate misfortunes of others. Kate looked heartbroken in the episode last night. Watching each episode this season anyone with a heart can see the sadness that is in her eyes. You mock and make fun of everyone you possibly can. You must really live an unhappy life if this is what you must do to others in order to make yourself feel good.

They didn't look sad because they do not do EVERYTHING on camera. The kids will eventually know the truth and REAL stories behind what happend, as for the show what is bad about it….. I feel bad for Kate. I think she is a good mom who is doing what she can to provide for her kids. She cannot work outside the home so how else is she supposed to pay for their food and clothes? Jon wants to party. I so agree with you.

And once again, Kate is not responsible for any of her actions. She is forced to file in response to John. The woman is deluded and frankly needs to probably go away for a year of intense therapy. She should not be allowed anywhere near those kids without supervision.
They didn't even mention any attempt at counseling or reconciliation. The interviewer didn't even ask about trying therapy. And also, what happened to their relationship with God and their church? Turning away from their beliefs was, in my opinion, one of the key factors in their downfall.

Well, that's where the two effed up. Almost any counselor will tell you the number one priority is your husband or wife, not your kids. Most successful marriages value their commitment to each as the most important commitment in your life, and then your kids. People have gotten soo wrapped up in the kids thing. I honestly believe that because of the fact that they have so many kids is what causes the drifting between them. They have two different parenting personalities/styles and they themselves have opposite personalities.
Kate is demanding and she knows what she wants when she wants it (I don't see anything wrong with that), Jon is very laid back and free spirited. I can understand how Kate could wear on him.
I can also understand how having 8 kids under the age of 10 can wear on a marriage as well. I know I couldn't deal with that many kids and I'm sure my marriage would drift too. I hope in the end it works out for them. It doesn't help that the media is all over them like white on rice 24/7, that can't be healthy for the kids. Those kids are so darling.
i don't usually comment on this stuff, but i don't agree with this at all. yes, having 8 kids is probably ripping them apart. but, they entered into marriage. parents fight. there were many times when i thought my parents would split. but they didn't. they worked it out. there will probably be many years in my own marriage where i'm not happy and we're not getting along like we once did. but that's what marriage is. nobody said it was easy. buck up, work out your problems and make it work!!! they're going to cause more damage to their kids by splitting than they would if they could work through their problems. those kids need to realize that people can fight, people can not like each other at different times and still love one another. what a cop out. they should cancel the show and work on their marriage… at least go to therapy first. exhaust all options before filing for divorce. divorce is much too easy these days…

Kate really did seem upset on last night's episode. Jon seemed like he didn't care. Some of the stuff he said made me think he's not going to be around on the show for very much longer. And I hated how he said "well I have feelings, so I'm hurt, but I'm also excited because this is a new chapter in my life. I'm only 32." Yeah, and you *only* are leaving behind a ten year marriage, and you *only* have eight kids and *only* have all these responsibilities.
Based on what I saw last night, I honestly feel really bad for Kate. Like I said, I wouldn't have any real indication that Jon gave a crap if it wasn't for this statement he issued today.

No one can live in this spotlight, let alone a family where one spouse (from what I read) continually shows no respect for the other. A family starts with a strong couple. True that it's no new story, and his been played out a million times by divorcing couples. Man claims his main concern is the kids, proceeds to party like a teenager, while Mom actually does put her kids first, and watches in horror, while they have to try to explain to little kids, why Dad is such a deadbeat. I have one son who is 2 years old he is a handfull as it is, can stress my husband and I out…. just to imagine having 6 of him, along with 2 others.
