The DTV switchover seems to have destroyed television viewership for the summer!
The premiere of NBC's America's Got Talent was #1 in the ratings on Tuesday night, but the staggering 11.3 million viewers is a 14% drop from last season's premiere.
Yikes!
Producers were hoping to bank on SuBo's success with Britain's Got Talent as a draw for US viewers, but no such luck. Critics panned the premiere for not having a "Susan Boyle moment."
Even swapping Jerry Springer out for Nick Cannon as host didn't help boost the figures!
I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here's viewership also dramatically dropped on Tuesday night with 4.3 million viewers; the lowest rated episode of the entire season.
Maybe it's time for NBC execs to stop recycling old ideas!

America's Got Talent is a second rate American Idol.. It sucks and so does the talent. All these summer reality shows suck for that matter!
It was going againt Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion. We all watched that instead. There's WAY more action in Joisey.

Do want your little fantasy to really be over so soon? You needn't go any further in looking for ugliness in the world than beyond your bathroom mirror. Do you know what the Black Eyed Peas have contributed to the world? You should report on the four friends from the projects who are currently able to attend college due to the kindness and generosity of their lead singer who himself came from nothing. The worst part of this whole situation is that every news site has a picture of your self-hating face that has become impossible to avoid. Hopefully when this all dies down, your small relevance in the world will die with it. You had a chance and you have blown it in the last month with your unfortunate choices, and since you seem to have no intention of admitting any error on your part you will be paying a steep price. You are the one who should be begging for forgiveness.

I saw one episode where a woman's talent was pole dancing. Seriously. Obviously, we Americans have no talent. It's quite embarrassing.
they should have never put Nick Cannon as the host, he made a ton of enemies recently by dissing eminem. I'm an eminem fan till I die so bye bye AGT! As long as nick the pus cannon is on there!

No way it could ever be that the show ideas and the resulting television shows themselves are garbage NBC! Wake the hell up. Most Americans have hated unimaginative "reality" shows. Now the ones who did are starting to tiring of the beaten to death concept too. NBC, people are turning off their televisions and i hope you and all the broadcast over-the-air channels go under. Especially with how you drool over our ineffective president every time you report on his speeches or boring daily activities as if he's another celebrity.
Have Perez removed from the Teen Choice Awards by writing an email addressed to **staff at teenchoiceawards d ot c om** and letting them know he is not an acceptable nominee or presence at the awards show. Also consider contacting his major advertisers, including Bravo TV, HBO and Showtime and asking them to stop giving him revenues. This is how he can be taken down.

Re: Kittycat1 – Not exactly. The Americans who have no talent go on shows like this. Those who do are already doing something on their own with their talents and busy being successful because of it.
They don't need shows like AGT for exposure like the liberal (for example, the stripper pole dancer) waste in our country does.

Nick Cannon is a horrible host… the only decent judge is Piers Morgan.. the show pales in comparison to BGT - and if they were hoping to cash in on SuBo's success they should have done it before the world realized how fake she is.

lol they should have just shown britain's got talent instead. and whilst there at it ditch the idol formula for the x factor one like they did over here a good 5 years ago
