That's some expensive scrap metal!
The prop, composed of steel, leather, painted rubber and foam-latex, was only expected to garner $5,000!!!!!

Michael Jackson owned them! He was the one who "gave" Christie's the gloves (Apparently, he didn't actually approve of Christie's putting that item and several others up for auction). I WANTED THESE GLOVES SO BADLY! They have been in the possession of my two favorite entertainers in the world. If I had the money, I definitely would have purchased them.
