For the second time in less than a year, the Jonas Brothers will debut at #1 on this week's Billboard albums chart with their latest release Lines, Vines and Trying Times!
The fellas from Wyckoff, New Jersey sold more than 247,000 copies of the record this week and they are sure to keep this good thing going for a few weeks more!

They also dont need to use a break up with their famous ex *cough Taylor Swift cough* to sell albums… This new album is great, its got a pop, rock, country, ska, big band and even hip hop feel, plus it has wonderful ballads!

the amount of "fans" they have who download illegally,
the fact that they have lost several fans for many reasons(taylor drama, etc.),
and that they are maturing a lot and losing that core fan base,
that IS, in fact, a lot of albums.
really, please realize, this album was a HUGE step for them,
and seriously, they lost A LOT of fans, and so far have gained less than they lost.
And the fans they did lose were the younger kids into the old pop sound.

I am a 30+ Jonas Brothers fan, and I don't have a child to "blame" for it. They are talented young men, and you can hate them all you want. They don't care in the slightest. They've acheived success and credibility well beyond most bands and they have a long career ahead of them. It may not be in the same form as it is now, but they will continue to make music and perform for as long as they want, without your approval or permission.

I am not a 12 year old girl. I'm into my twenties and I love the Jonas Brothers without the influence of any screaming tweens. I am personally very proud of them. They are the only band in history to not only grace the cover of Rolling Stone more than once in a year, but also to have two number 1 albums in less than a year. Granted sales for this album are lower than sales for "A Little Bit Longer" but the economy is in a worse state and they did lose some of their younger fans because the sound is not as power pop friendly as their previous releases, but they also gained some older fans (when they gained a more mature sound).Let's not forget that they sold 1 million tickets to their world tour in the first week they were available. So while the Jonas Mania might be dying down a bit (just as Beatlemania did) I do feel that they will be around for awhile so why don't we just give them a pat on the back and say "good job" They're obviously still popular enough to do something that no other artist around can do.

Also, if the likes of Black Eyed Peas can sell the same big numbers they did for years then the economy is no excuse for lower sales. ALOT of artists are still selling the same old incredible numbers regardless, but JB is not, cause they're a tweenie brand. And beatlesmania? You are joking right? Beatles mania lasted for years on end, but JB's only lasted a year, just as long as all other boy bands. Don't even start the Beatles comparison, cause neither do there music nor there fame compare to the beatles even closely. The Jonases could last, if there music actually improves as the years go on, but if they don't ditch this Disney garbage and if there music does'nt get better, these three are fucked. JB lost A LOT of fans this year, for a few reasons.
they matured, so they lost most of those younger disney fans.

Re: Michaeeelaaa I actually did some research on the sales, and no they did'nt sell a million in a week. As of April it was CLOSE to a million at 900,000 then it got to where it is now. I follow there sales numbers out of interest and tbh the teen cycle kinda is fun to follow, so trust me when I say kiddo, I know more on this then your sorry ass.
I am aware they matured (Although tbh there new record isn't THAT mature, but it's more fitting for there ages), I gave this album a shot in an effort to give them a chance. They lost fans LONG before this album came out, there movie and TV show were complete failures. So while the album had a big part in lossing fans, they've been lossing em for a while now. And btw punkass, I'm not "stubborn". I think there is talent somewhere in them, but none of it has been fully realized and the way they're now is just failed attempts on good ideas (with the exception of a couple songs which I did enjoy from ALBL & there new record) with there music. If they were to make a record, where everything worked and there was more then a few decent tracks here and there, I'd be willing to call myself even a moderate fan, but not how it is now.
And no fucking shit they don't care, if I was them I would'nt care either. But that does'nt mean I can't voice my opinion on them, ya douchebag. Freedom of speech, embrace it.

Funny reading all the reactions here,and how many of us fans are older.
I'm 29…I've been a big fan since early 2007…it is so weird the way some people struggle with the Jonases success and musical choices. Most haters have no clue about them beyond their overmarketing and who they think the fanbase is. It's really shallow & clueless.
I don't get it…people either expect them to be something they are not (badass, NKOTB-style-dancing lipsynchers) and get confused, or can't accept that it is OKAY for a band to be young, be green, have evolving to do. Watching the process is a big part of the fun. That is the way REAL bands used to be before manufactured acts with adults pulling every string took over (again with the NKOTB, Britney mindset), with ups, downs, hits and misses. It's real & genuine & that's something this band is that many - even harder,more alternative - acts are not.
How hard is it to understand that they are a real band that plays sincere, power pop music with a range of influences? And what is the problem with that? Music doesn't all have to be some raunchy and/or ironic posefest.
Jonas Brothers are awesome -& like all bands, not perfect. I expect them to continue to be awesome, and get better all the time.
