Watchmen Director's Cut To See Screenings

watchmenposterfinal.jpg

A director's cut of Watchmen will be released in Los Angeles, New York, Minneapolis and Dallas a week prior to Comic-Con International in San Diego in late July.

The unusual release will culminate in a special screening at Comic-Con, followed by commentary from director Zack Snyder and a feature that will allow viewers all over to participate simultaneously. The event will be archived for future access.

The film performed lukewarmly in its original release, with critics mixed over the results, but Snyder maintained that "I'm proud of the movie. It does everything I wanted it to."

Did U see it? Thoughts????

NO perez we didnt see, our thoughts are that you should give your posting a break while we worry about the Jackson family…..thanks

  2. 2

Good movie, all in all. The sex scene was a little too gratuitous in my mind, especially mixed with that "Hallelujah" song.

  3. 3

I saw the movie 4 times and loved everytime i saw it!! i am a huge fan of the novel and like most 'comic' movies, nothing is ever perfect!!! i just hope they release the directors cut in london!!!!

  4. 4

The sex scene was a bit much but i absolutely loved the movie! It really did bring the comic book to life for me.

  5. 5

Let's place bets on which celebrity is next to punch your fat, ugly face!

  6. 6

    Freaking American's!

  7. 7

The film Opened at number one on the weekend and has a HUGE following from Faithful Watchmen fans. How dare you slander the work of Allan Moore on this pathetic site. one can only wish that Rorsharch would shoot his grappling gun in your face perez.

  8. 8

Well Perez I did see it and I loved it. I think its an aquired taste, either you like it or you dont! My cousin went with me and hated it and didnt understand the whole thing! As for the 1's comment 'sladetim', should Perez really stop posting things just because The King of Pop passed away? Please…. lol.. what about all the other people that passed away today??

  9. 9

a fine movie and it's great that the MJ story is on top

keep it up perez dont let the haters get you down

  10. 10

i loved the movie. i really hope the directors cut is not longer. i found even though i really liked it, i found myself thinking 20 minutes could have easly been cut from it. just to help the flow. the ending dragged on far to long

    Re: ThePerezHater
but it's good enough for you to be on the site haha you haters make me laugh keep on commenting your just making perez even richer haha
Keep it up perez don't let the haters get you down love from iceland

  12. 12

I didn't get to see that!
    So disappointed,
    I wanted to.

  13. 13

I saw the movie. It was as I hoped for because it was 98% accurate from the graphic novel. People who had mixed reviews are the ones who didn't read the graphic novel, that's my opinion.

  14. 14

I enjoyed the movie but the sex scene was a bit much. In responce to Sladetin: Ten’s of thousands of people die everyday and the world doesn’t stop for them, why should it be any different for MJ. Just have your minute of silence, feel sorry for his family and his children and then get on with it. Far be it for a gossip website to still post gossip when the “king” of pop is dead.

i thought it was perfection. yes, i'm a fanboy of the graphic novel, but if anything, that makes my opinion carry more weight, because i should be highly critical, and i loved it anyway.

calling Snyder one of the most 'visionary' directors working today is totally accurate. i can't weight for the blu ray

  16. 16

I found the BIG BLUE DONG to be highly distracting!

  17. 17

    Re: Crisis
"but it's good enough for you to be on the site" so your saying a movie is good enough for ME to be on this site? How stupid can you perez fanboys be? I will keep commenting though because it is quite amusing to see you stand by your precious queen of all media, despite the fact that now he;s being hailed as a disgraceful human being. Please continue to comment. I always find idiotic fanboys quite amusing.

Good movie. He was made to direct that movie, I think if they had picked someone else they would've ruined it, but the way he does big fight scenes is great. The only problem I had was he made it look like all the minute/watchmen had superhuman powers instead of training themselves. I think the Laurie/Comedian/Mother thing was too underplayed, and Malin Akerman's acting was…honestly quite suckish.
Other than that, it was a good movie. Can't wait for the DVD.

  19. 19

i thought the movie was a slight antithesis to the comic book. the comic book was about unglorified men and women who dressed up like super heroes and has serious emotional depth. the movie focused on gratuitous action, and while it tried to blend the amazing storytelling of the comic, it def. failed to translate what made watchmen a successful comic. it just became another super hero film with masturbatory material (LAurie) and badass guys.

I am a nice man. In the past I was always seeking my love. A friend told me a platform***Blackwhiteloving-com***where I knew my ideal match, a beautiful and gentle woman. I hope more and more people can get happiness there. I believe "All shall be well, and Jack shall have Jill".

i really liked the movie and thought it was a great novel -> movie adaptation even if the sex scene was a bit gratuitous for my liking.

  22. 22

The graphic novel was super, but the movie wasn't really doing it for me. Which was strange because it was totally faithful to the comic.

  23. 23

from someone who read the book first, i thought the movie was absolutely perfect. the music, the wardrobe, the refusal to sensor dr. manhattan's junk… everything was beautiful. i can't wait to see what the directors cut looks like!!!

and to you prudes: the sex scene was necessary, as well as the rape scene. it was all in the book, so why would they write it out of the movie? it's all a part of the story and it matters.

  24. 24

FANTASTIC!! I read the book first, and its not often I say good things about a movie based on a novel. This movie was the perfect complement it's graphic novel. I loved watching it all come to life. I wanted to wrap it around me and submerge myself in to this gritty dirty psychological world of killing and mayhem. The depth of this story lies far beneath a simple plot about comic book heroes saving the world.

  25. 25

Watchmen rocked. Best movie of last year. Can't wait for that director's cut.

  26. 26

Someone should seriously hijack this page to a useful url. Perez may as well pack up and move to the burbs. Stick a fork in Perez, He's done.

  27. 27

saw it, got lost…. I need to read the comic book…

  28. 28

    Re: sladetim

Well for some people life doesn't stop because someone we didn't know died.

Re: kategreen – you are a loser. quit being a shill for that SHiT website.

  35. 35

Saw the movie and liked but the sex scenes were too much. It made me feel like I was in a porno theatre. Very uncomfortable.

    36

This movie could've been so much better.

  37. 37

I actually loved the movie having NOT read the graphic novel till after I saw it. I know-ass backwards-but it worked because I only know of the story, not the background. It was different and very fun to watch! I don't remember the sex scene that much-because I am fucking and don't have time to pay attention to others sex lives-but I do remember the scene when Dr. Manhattan was completely dissolved and them came back as just nerves. That was a lil disturbing, but soo cool.
    The whole movie was cool.

  45. 45
