      Where did that personal doctor learn CPR? I think one of the basics is not to do it on the bed, because it's too cushy. Ever try doing sit ups on the bed, easy has hell. On the floor, not so much. I didn't go to medical school and I know better.

      Ouch! as en ex 911 dispatcher, that operator F'ked up. He sould have confirmed with the caller that proper CPR was being performed. There is something called "EMD Protocol" and this man did not follow it. Not saying that the outcome would have been any different, but he should have never hung up and he should have ensure CPR was being done properly. I smell potential lawsuit!

      Ok…now THAT's how you conduct yourself on a 911 call. How many times have crazy 911 calls been released to the press where the caller is just being totally unintelligible or nasty?? I realize that emotions run high when you're calling 911, but it doesn't do anyone any good to freak out on the 911 operator.

      What is extremely unusual about this call is that he was on the bed according to the caller, which if the doctor was properly trained he should have known not to perform CPR on the bed and would have already moved him to the floor….. very sketchy?

      His personal doctor is obviously an idiot if he didn't know to get him on the floor for CPR. You can't perfom CPR on a bed unless there is a board underneath the person or compressions will not be effective. Soooo sad. He also should not have overdosed if that doctor knew what he was doing or cared about him.

      The CARDIOLOGIST was doing compressions while he was ON A BED? even my 16-year-old daughter knows what is wrong with *that* picture.

      Doc OD'ed him, and panicked. Wait and see.

      OMG! I have worked on an ambulance for several years and performed countless rounds of CPR…what kind of a HACK performs CPR on a goddamned BED?! There is ZERO resistance and NO compression of the heart! CPR by definition is the squeezing of the heart muscle between the back of the sternum and front of the spine/back of ribcage…if there is something soft behind the person, the body/heart/thoracic cavity will be pushed down into the bed…

      Please people!!!! If someone stops breathing on a bed or couch or anything SOFT, you NEED TO PULL THEM DOWN TO THE FLOOR or the CPR will be completely ineffective! I swear, what kind of a "DOCTOR" doesn't know this?? Also, what kind of a doctor that injects Demerol on a daily basis to any one person, doesn't carry the opioid antidote called Narcan (which can totally block opioid receptors?!)

      UGH. Glad I got that out of my system.

      This doctor provided the instruments of Death to MJ and I BET YOU ANYTHING he worked on him for a WHILE before even calling 911….

      Even if he was revived, he would probably have brain damage from the lack of oxygen for even just a few minutes. So, you know, it's actually better that he wasn't revived imo. I really do believe that. I have seen way too many patients with brain damage, and yes even have seen patients after cardiac arrest and it's not pretty.

      Oh dear…a doctor performing cpr on a soft bed. What kind of dr is that? I mean Cpr 101..is to get them on a hard surface like the floor. Michael was long fone before the paramedics even got there from the sounds of this call. I think this personal doctor situation is very suspicious…what was he giving Michael…why wasn't michael taken to hospital at the first signs of trouble. Ummmm.to be continued I guess.

      Seriously, please be more respectful when posting things. Everyone has read what you posted before the news came out that he had passed away, and it was horrible. Regardless of the outcome, clearly you did not know the situation well enough to make a judgment call on whether or not he was really in poor health or just had "cold feet." Even if he did just have "cold feet" as you say, that's no reason to say rude, terrible things about him. Anyone would be nervous in that kind of situation. He was someone with enormous pressure on him, and it definitely would not have been his fault if he was feeling apprehensive about the performances–he had a lot riding on those performances, including the scrutiny of the entire world.

      Perez, you can report celebrity gossip in a more respectable way–you can tell everyone what celebrities are up to without belittling them or trashing them. People would still look at your site, and if there are any who wouldn't, they aren't kindhearted, respectable human beings.

      A doctor should know that you don't perform CPR on a bed. It must be on a firm surface. Pretty fishy if you ask me.

      Ok peeps. Teh human brain does not die after 4 minutes. All that happens after 4 minutes without oxygen is that there is possible brain damage due to loss of BRAIN CELLS. That DOES NOT mean that the brain is dead. Secondly, it is not important to know the name of the patient when handling an emergency call as knowing the name is not going to potentially save the person. If you listen to the call, the dispatcher said "paramedics" are on their way which is proper protocol seeing as how CPR was administered and not working i.e. Advanced Live Support was on their way NOT Basic Life Support. I agree that having the patient on the bed was retarded as anyone knows unconscious patients should be put on a stable flat surface i.e. the floor. ALso that is the only way CPR should be administered. As for being so calm, that is what is supposed to happen, freaking out just wastes time which is vital in order to have the patient survive. The fact that the doc was there during the 911 call only adds to the suspicion of the doc. Yes there were some unnecessary repetitive questions asked but generally the dispatcher did the right thing.

      ok i think we all got that u perform CPR on the floor but honestly…i am just imagining-if i was a doctor and you give MJ opiads on a daily basis-i dont know how i would react if i accidentially OD´ed him…sure, he is a doctor, should be able to remain calm and perform proper cpr but he is also just a human being who obviously paniked after he realized what happened-i mean he (if he did it) killed the king of pop. i dont think you can stay calm in that situation even thought he clearly should have….

      What I don't understand is that, if this truly is an OD of demerol or morphine, there is an opioid antagonist called naloxone that essentially helps block/reverse the effect of the drug(s). Did his doctor have any on hand? (I'd suggest he should have if MJ was truly on both drugs) If not, and knowing what probably happened, why wouldn't he call the paramedics sooner? Perhaps they could have given it to him? (I'm not sure on whether or not paramedics in CA carry it or if they're allowed to administer it) And why wouldn't he or the caller have mentioned the probable cause? Did the doctor ever tell anyone it could be a narcotic OD, and did anyone ever give naloxone? I can't help but feel that more could have been done, and sooner. But then again, this is a doctor who performed CPR on a BED!!!!
