Turns out that Madonna's final album with Warner Brothers is going to be called… Iconography.
We love it!
She's the ultimate icon, and it's an in-the-know thank you to her hardcore fans, like us.
The album is looking at a mid-September release.
The greatest hits collection will include three new tracks.
The big question is how her album will hold up against Whitney Houston's Undefeated and Mariah Carey's Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel, both of which are slated for September releases as well.

The word "Iconography", as the expression "The Immaculate Collection", somehow recall her fans of her "Like a Prayer" era, when she used to pick-and-mix religious staff and pseudo-erotic material.
Madonna is so great that I dubt Mariah could be even considered a rival.
I must sadly recognize that the only diva is Madonna. I say "sadly" because Whitney used to be much more diva (left apart, talented) that Maddy but nowadays it seems she's completely gone. How sad.

I really hope she realises Revolver but the demo realised isn't her singing, but hopefully she can go all control freak over it and make it another hit.

Madonna, Whitney, Mariah — all of them are has-beens. Young people who actually buy music do not know them and are not interested in aged singers. None of their CDs will sell. Last year, Leona Lewis kicked the crap out of both Madonna and Mariah.

Her ever-changing music accompanied all the beautiful (and the bad) moments in my life. I was so young when she cames here in Italy, and I went to see and hear her in Turin (the infamous "Ciao Italia" concert)… I think that if something happens to her, I will be really touched. However, she's strong and doesn't seem the kind of person that give up to drugs or other shit.
I wait for the new collection.
Madonna has released 11 studio album and 2 OST containing mostly songs from her, and this will be her 3rd greatest hits collection only. This should be compared to some new so-called stars that after two or three decent singles and two studio album (one of witch is their debut, filled with crap), immediately realese an umbelievely empty "geatest hits".

That is record company politics rather than new artists making a decision to release a greatest hits compilation. Perhaps if everyone actually bought music rather than listen to it for free, record companies wouldn't have to unnecessarily release greatest hits albums of an artist that's been around less than 5 to 6 years.

Everyone has the right to say whatever he/she wants.
However, saying that people at Madonna shows are old IS SIMPLY UNTRUE.
I can admit not all her album have been equally successfull, but in all of them you can find at least one or two tracks that really rock the dancefloors AROUND THE WORLD (no matter if you're in Milan, in St. Petersburg, in Shangai or in Tokyo — to name just four cities I've been and danced to Madonna music AFTER the year 2000).
What a stupid question!! Whether or not they are released at the same time or separately, the people who like them will buy them so how they willl "hold up" against each other has nothing to do with when they are released Perez. And duh! Music buyers don't have to pick just one!
I wonder if this compilation cover all her years, or just pick up where the last greatest hits left off. Her last greatest hits was lackluster at best, and to be honest, most of the output she's put out this decade hasn't been all that great. Re: Haus of Lempicka –
Actually this will be her fourth compilation. She released SOMETHING TO REMEMBER back in the 90s…a compilation of ballads.

She always has great album titles. I will buy it…Can't stand Mariah and will never really take Whitney serious again…Madonna will likely come out on top. Except, it's for her "hard-core" fans which will buy it as a collector's item and will sell well. but Mariah is releasing a studio album and so is Whitney, so I think they will all do well in their own ways.

Re: Messiah – I thought about that too. I think it's to create media hype from the record labels to increase sales…Just like they do when they release 50 Cent and Kanye on the same day. Sure Kanye gets the credit, but the real winner's are both the record labels. Ofcourse, Madonna has a higher royalty (and probably the highest of anyone) rate than either Mariah or Whitney, so regardless of how much the Queen sells physically, she will have best international sales and earn the most money. I'm just glad they called it ICONOGRAPHY…but this is just a rumor so I'll wait until the official press release.

his 2001 invincable album has sold 9 million copies, alot of artists would struggle to sell half as many as that.. the problem is people think that because michael never topped his album thriller, all his other albums are failures.
also he released thriller 25 in 2007 and that sold 3 million copies and that was just a re-issue.
and selling out 50 concerts in record breaking time this year proved that he was still at the top.
so i cant see how you can say his career was over since 1995.

I went to Madonnarama at Fly in Toronto thursday night, it was amazing, the place was packed…Madonna music till 4 am..they did play some MJ as well.

I think most of the comments below are total bullshit. All these young "KIDS" don't know the meaning of true talant. Madonna is the reining queen of pop and aways will be long after she passes away. It's funny that people are calling her a "has-been" when she just released an album full of new material last year that did very well (I might add) and was the MOST successful tour of the year with her "Sticky and Sweet Tour". This outsold Britney, Beyonce', and ANY other artist that dared to compete with her. I also love how people are trying to cut her down for her fitness level and her body.
