The Gossip lead singer Beth Ditto is revitalizing the fashion industry with her debut clothing line with Evans.
The UK plus-size brand caters to women between sizes 14-32 and features a range of products, including tight print dresses, domino print scarves, acid washed textiles and cropped fitted jackets.
Hawt!
Ditto is not some random celebrity who claims to design! She has been making her clothes out of hand-me-downs, pieces of fabric or re-working vintage pieces for years.
Beth will hopefully change the entire plus-size clothing industry!!!
No more boring, oversized clothes!

That's awesome! Now I think we just need a regular sized designer to make clothes too…I was shopping at a pretty popular store the other day and there were no "Medium" sized sweaters left….only Small, XS, & even XXS….so…that pissed me off!!

I want that DRESS! I saw the Domino print Dress, and I want that too! I'm losing weight because of fashion hate to say it. But its good motivation to get healthy. Big Girls clothes are so boring, and its boring to be big. I'm glad they are giving us options but its still not healthy to be that big. A friend just died on Saturday from Cardic Arrest, 20 years old. Nothing wrong with getting healthy.

While I don't see anything wrong with "bigger" girls, I don't think you should be promoting Beth Dito's weight as a positive thing. She is obese, which is unhealthy and will negatively affect her in the long run. I don't think the pin thin Hollywood ideal weight is an image that should be celebrated either. Can't we find a happy medium?

If the dress she is wearing is in the line, I think that it is cute. But Beth is in size denial. she needs to have the skirt part of the dress more A-line than pencil. She is putting too much accent on the bulging belly as well as the wide rear end. The belt does the same. It screams "look at my gut!" From behind, someone may think they are hanging upside down on a cloudy blue sky day!!!

I have to agree with those who have pointed out the hypocrisy of some PH comments. How can you call Jessica Simpson or Mariah Carey FAT and espouse about their shortcomings and THEN maintain that Ms. Ditto is beautiful?!? Fat vs. Skinny…why the hell does it matter? It's about feeling comfortable in your skin with no concern about size or weight, etc. Unfortunately, it's the maintenance by various media and fashion outlets that tell us skinny women with "boy" bodies are beautiful, more valueable and anything short of 100 lbs. is unacceptable and disgusting. I say love yourself and who gives shit what male fashion designers think about the female form. I think EVERY woman possesses beauty and size is the last thing that determines it.
Truth is, plus women do need better clothes. I hope she provides something that's realistically wearable for the average gal…who is about a size 14!

As a big girl I have to say that I would NEVER want to wear something skin tight. Nor should any big girl with even one iota of self respect!!!! Beth Ditto is repulsive! To all you sweet hearts who keep saying that all fat people are repulsive and need to get off their asses and lose weight, you have no idea what you are talking about. Not all of us want to be fat. Not all of us can do something about our weight. There are many reasons people are fat. Some of it, yes, is due to over eating and a lack of exorcise but some of it is also due to thyroid problems, injuries that have left us unable to exorcise like we used to, depression, a hard pregnancy, ect. Be a little nicer to us. If we were able to get the proper health care we need, I can guarantee more of us would be able to get healthy. In the mean time though, we need to be able to love ourselves the way we are. So please, be a little kinder. You don't know our stories.

I recently lost about 50lbs after gaining a bunch after knee surgeries… So I understand what it's like to be one of those "bigger girls."

i totally support her wanting to make big ppl's clothing more fashionable…alot of what she wears is really extememly tacky, and i think that is going to turn alot of ppl off from these clothes….i can see that she wants to stand out and be unique and all that, but whats wrong with adding a dash of class to it….or in this case a few dashes and a pinch…lol…just a word of advice, classy doesnt have to mean boring and unique and hawt doesnt have to mean tacky….find a mid-point…and LUVZ the idea of re-working used and vintage stuff!!
