SVU Stays Intact
We mentioned earlier this month that the stars of Law & Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, were in negotiations to return to the show and collect a hefty paycheck for doing so.
Well, now we can confirm it!
Hooray! We actually couldn't care less, but for you fans, we rejoice.
Sources suggest that the crime fighting duo negotiated their contracts together and have both inked a contract for one more year, with an option for a second year. That will take them into 12 seasons of the show!
We didn't realize there were that many ways to solve a murder!
Their renewed contracts may explain some of the cut backs in programming on the network: Hargitay and Meloni are said to have boosted their most recent salaries of about $385,000 an episode as well as negotiated a piece of the SVUs back end, a lucrative business involved merchandise and DVDs.
If the math is done correctly, they each stand to make well over $400,000 an episode, making Mariska Hargitay the highest-paid woman on television.
Hope they intend to spread that ca$h around.

obviously, you don't watch it, because it is not all about murders. surprisely, you don't watch it, because it is all about SEXUAL crimes. thought that would be a BIG turn on for you mario and yes, it does deal with gays on some of the episodes. thought you would be tivo'ing all those episodes. how did that slip thru?????

It's obscene what actors get paid. Researchers who are trying to cure cancer and disease should be making this salary, not someone who has to memorize a bunch of lines.

way too much money. the show hasnt been good in years. this used to be my favorite show. now its a joke. an episode consist of a rape during the 1st 15 min. then all of a sudden it will turn into a show about spies from the middle east. stabler has a spaz attack every other episode where benson has issues with her "near rape" that happened a million years ago every other episode. retire the show already.
This is one of the best shows on TV to date and has remained so over time! Through it's realistic storylines, it addresses real issues and doesn't sugarcoat what goes on in the real world- but the show still keeps everything edgy and entertaining for fans. How many shows can say that? Both Mariska and Christopher are extremley talented actors and are absolutely the reason the show is so great. I'm so happy for them!
