Just because you can break through windows with your foot, doesn't mean you should.
While in Lisbon, Portugal, on Sunday, soccer stud Cristiano Ronaldo, along with his mother and sister, were photographed by a 17-year-old female fan, who had parked outside his apartment in hopes that she could get an autograph. Unfortunately for her, things became incredibly violent when Chrissy kicked the window of her car, sending shards of glass everywhere and seriously injuring the young fan.

His fury sent the girl straight to the hospital, where she told the story to the police. Of course, the soccer star didn't have the balls to just apologize for what he had done. Instead, he attempted to justify by claiming the girl was working with a paparazzi photographer and had been stalking him for days "waiting for anything newsworthy to happen."
Um, so? You're a celebrity, you grease bucket. Comes with the territory.
And she is 17!
What exactly did you feel threatened by that could warrant such a reaction?
Furthermore, he accuses the girl of exaggerating her injuries, which one look at her hospital charts and car could clear that up right quick, and he says, we quote: "I regret what I did, but I can't promise that I would not react in the same way again in the same circumstances."
That is just disgusting.

No one signs a contract agreeing to be stalked by crazy fans or paparazzi when he becomes a celebrity. Being stalked and harassed constantly does not come with the territory. But I think that crazy fans and paparazzi should sign a release form agreeing not to sue when they get beat up by people who don't want to be stalked! That story is not quite true. He did kick the car window, but it belonged to a freelance photog that had been stalking him for ages. The 17 year old girl just happened to be in the car. You have to understand (and i'm not condoning this) that Portugal is in no way like the US. We don't have paparazzi, we just have paparazzi-like photos (staged) that some "famous" get on the mags. Kinda like Speidi!! Stuff like this makes us freak out more, cause we're not used to it

Again, violence is a perfectly legitimate answer if the benefits outweigh the potential consequences. In the situation above with Ronaldo, this does not seem to be the case, but in the situation where that dude knocked your bitch-ass out and the entire world cheered, it was DEFINITELY the right answer.

For crying out loud, he kicked a car door! He shouldn't have, but it's hardly a heinous crime. The scum of the story is the pap, who has previously being prosecuted for his behaviour, who had been harassing Ronny and his family for days. He was the one using a 17 year old girl to try and get pics and he was the one that tried extortion before going to the police to report the oh-so-terrible incident.
Ronny may have to accept the downsides of fame that come with his job, but his family shouldn't. Paps will gladly cause distress or put anyone in physical danger to get their money. Sometimes they’ll push people to snapping point – and it’s difficult to feel sorry for such parasites when they do.
I suspect Ronny’s version of events are far closer to the truth than a, even by pap standards, unscrupulous toad. But we shall see once the scum-bucket finds a buyer for his video – assuming he wants one and the video is not going to spoil his story.
