No Public Viewing At Neverland Ranch???
This is going to get a lot of Michael Jackson fans very upset!
The Associated Press is now reporting that the public viewing scheduled and confirmed to take place this Friday at the Neverland Ranch is likely NOT happening!
Reports are now stating that a funeral and burial will most likely take place in Los Angeles instead of at Jackson's 2,500-acre ranch in Santa Barbara County.
An inside source has reported to the AP that nothing has been planned yet to take place at Neverland, at least through this Friday.
However, Jackson's family has the final say.
So where are they now to speak up and confirm the news???
The sourced added that Neverland owner, billionaire Thomas Barrack, who owns the ranch in a joint venture with Jackson, sought an exemption to bury him at Neverland, but it wasn't able to be worked out for this week.
In order to burry Jackson in private property, the family would need to get permission from local land-use officials and submit an application with the state Cemetry and Funeral Bureau and then wait for approval, which could take up to 30 days.
The source adds that "The family is aware a Neverland burial is not possible. They are expected to make decisions about whatever funeral and memorial service" will take place.
Update: The Jackson family just released a statement!
They say: "Contrary to previous news reports, the Jackson family is officially stating that there will be no public or private viewing at Neverland.
Plans are underway regarding a public memorial for Michael Jackson, and we will announce those plans shortly."

I agree. The funeral should be private. I am a huge fan myself but I think his family and closest friends should only be there.
I heard on the radio Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton almost came to blows arguing over who should get to do the eulogy. Can these people make a decision about anything? It would be better to do the viewing in L.A. They can plant him later. Make Neverland into a west coast Graceland type place. Kids get in free ; )

Perez, nothing was SCHEDULED or CONFIRMED by the family. Even the media outlets senselessly reporting this new that as even the family lawyers when interviewed said nothing was set in stone. Fans of all people should know the lengths the media goes to when it comes to MJ for ratings and greed, don't think it ends with his death. The family has the final say, wait until their confirmation before renting hotel rooms.

Michael loved his fans. While I do believe that when it comes to unfortunate situations like this and it should only be family and close friends, there's quite the possibility of Michael wanting a public viewing for his fans.
Thank God!!! FINALLY this man is getting the respect that he deserves! He is getting a memorial service, and public memorial for him. Even though I never did get to see him in person, at concert or anything, he will still forever in my heart be a great man that lives on through his fans, and a big inspiration to me. Rest In Peace Michael!

Thank you for making the announcement that the Santa Ynez Valley is now back in the hands of the locals and that someone in their right MIND finally made a wise decision! The Stapels arena in a far better place tohave a service- they have toilets, food concessions and a roof- and PARKING! This Valley in no way could handle the influx of poorly informed people with no idea where they are- or how to drive on our rural roads.

Good, there shouldn't be a public viewing. I love Michael, even cried when he died, but his whole life was a Circus. Just like the song says "Leave Him Alone" let the guy RIP!
