Gwyneth Likes It Everywhere, Except America!

wenn5264499.jpg

America's most unrelateable actress, Gwyneth Paltrow, has done it again!

We didn't think it was possible to alienate more people, but she is an overachiever!!!!!

Gwyneth speaks almost perfect Spanish with an Iberian accent, of course!

"When I was 15, I went to a small town outside Talavera de la Reina and I had the most wonderful experience. It really changed my life," says the privileged actress who traveled to Spain as a teenager.

Paltrow said Spain "became a second home" and she makes sure to visit at least once a year!

"It is so different from the United States. It seemed to have a history, and the buildings are years and years and years old. Here in the United States an old building is about 17 (years old), and over there it's from 500 B.C., it's incredible," said the pretentious hater. "Also, the way people live over there. They seem to enjoy life a little bit more. They aren't running around as much as in New York. They enjoy time with the family. They don't always have their Blackberries on."

Some people have to work, Gwynnie!

"Moses speaks a little bit, but understands everything. Apple speaks a lot," Paltrow said of teaching her children Spanish.

She is also writing a book on U.S. cuisine with Spanish influence after shooting "Spain … on the Road Again" with chef Mario Batali.

No doubt she borrowed some recipes!

Gwyneth just launched a Spanish language version of her advice website, GOOP.

Please spare the people who don't speak English because they may have to watch her act too!

"I would love to. I haven't found the script yet, but the first (movie) would have to be a small role, not very important, because I imagine I would have to get used to acting in Spanish," said Paltrow who may grace the screen to brag about her knowledge in the language of love.

Just move to Spain already!

We won't miss you!

Great!! Let her annoy the hell out of some other country. She's always been so full of herself. And someone should really tell her, she's only an ok actress, not the stellar performer she has claimed to be in the past. oscar be damned.

  2. 2

    ughhh

  3. 3

Word!! I hate that bitch, I've always hated her. She's such a spoiled little snot. Get lost, Fishstick!

  4. 4

    Woahhhh.
17 year old buildings? Dang, my grandmas house is older than that!
    Go back and take history

  5. 5

Gwyneth has a lot of class, she speaks spanish very good and she's so polite and talented…I'm happy she likes spain because it's my country

  6. 6

Travelling gives people perspective and makes them less judgemental

  7. 7

She's totally right. If she weren't, Americans wouldn't pay billions a year to travel to Europe to see buildings centuries old. Most Americans who visit Europe (and not just Paris or London) but truly visit all around, say the same thing - the pace is slower, calmer and people are in general happier. I wasn't aware that to "work" someone NEEDED a Blackberry. I don't have one, don't want one, don't need one. I don't need someone able to contact me, day or night - 5 different ways and I don't need to show how cool I am, texting away about nothing. I'd rather hold a REAL conversation.

  8. 8

    You're just jealous dumbass!

But you can move back to la Habana, nobody would miss you PENDEJO.

  9. 9

I DONT REALLY CARE FOR HER ALL THAT MUCH, I THINK SHE IS A GOOD ACTRESS, BUT SHE CAN BE OVER-RATED AT TIMES…MEANING, SHE'S GOOD BUT NOT GREAT….ANYWAY…I LUV AMERICA, BUT QUITE FRANKLY, WE'RE IN THE SHITTER AND HAVE BEEN FOR OH, ABOUT 8 YEARS OR SO NOW…BUT OTHER, OLDER, COUNTIES DO HAVE ALOT MORE HISTORY, (NOT MEANING TO DEMINISH OURS), BUT I THINK MOST OLDER COUNTRIES ARE MORE INTERESTING THAN OURS, ALONG WITH THEIR CULTURES AND INFLUENCES…I HOPE THAT ONE DAY I WILL BE AT A POINT IN LIFE WHEN I CAN HAVE PROPERTY IN ANOTHER COUNTRY…ITALY TO BE EXACT…BUT ANYHOW, I CAN SEE WHERE SHE CAN COME OFF IN THE WRONG WAY, BUT I BET U TOO PERETZEL ENJOY TRAELING AND HAVING NEW INTERESTING EXPERIENCES..THO UR'S WE MIGHT NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT..AND IM SURE U MIGHT LIKE TO HAVE A PROPERTY IN ANOTHER LAND…SO TRY NOT TO BE A BITCH ABOUT EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME…IT MAKES U SOUND A LIL JEALOUS!!! LMAO

what is wrong with having love for another country, sometimes, you know as human beings, we develop anffinity for another place. so what. is this a big deal, because I didnt know. I love paris is that a problem and I love mexico and argentina so what. so what so what so what so what so what so what

  11. 11

Umm.. You're a professional at alienating people, what're you talking about?!?

  12. 12

Ah well, liking another country is shiteous now ? I thought George Bush was gone!

  13. 13

i thought French was the language of love ?? And this is not a big deal jeez

  14. 14

Yet despite all of her alleged shortcomings, somehow I like her a billion times more than you, Perez. Hmmm… wonder why that is? Could it be — manners? Yes, that's it.

  15. LMG says – reply to this

    15

What's the problem? She hasn't said anything that isn't true???? I grew up going between countries in the Med and she's right….even in the UK their is a decent history. You just don't have it in the U.S. That's not anything apart from a fact. You can buy a holiday home in Italy that's a genuine Roman Villa for £150,000….it's just the way life is in Europe.

  16. 16

You're lame. What if she said Cuba was her favorite? She'd be your new friend, right? I don't think there's anything wrong with someone trying to get away from their routine. I go to Texas about 3 times a year and Mexico once a year, because it IS slower paced somewhere else where we don't live. You used to post good sh** on here…

    17

I'm not a big fan of hers, but she isn't all that off the mark. In America, we do tear stuff down to build new. In the city, if a building is considered old…does the company fix it? No, chances are they build elsewhere. Bigger. Better.

I've visited Europe several times and it is fascinating. There is more to the world than just America, Perez. And so what that she finds other countries more interesting? That is part of our problem. We think we are better than anyone else, if someone says otherwise than we write them off as traitors. Maybe they are just stating an opinion. Lighten up.

  18. Kdel says – reply to this

    18

Perez, you are a fucking idiot. So Gwyneth loves Spain. Who gives a shit. Why is this your business and why in the hell would you judge someone for loving Spain. You don't make sense. I think that punch to the head left you a little fucked up in the brain. Please imagine I just called you "the worst possible thing I could think of".

  19. 19

Look,I know she can be hideous, but…
In this case, I agree a bit.
It's Europe, OF COURSE it's gonna be different.
    US it's a young country…
There is not a sense of Old History, food doesn't taste as good as in Spain or Italy, etc…
But that doesn't mean that US sucks.
I hope she is not trying to say that, cause she'll be wrong, again.

    Just sayin!

  20. 20

    bitch can't even act!

  21. 21

I adore her but…I hope her comments were taken out of context. Otherwise, pretty boneheaded remarks:(( I always think of her as an NYC girl but gee, Gwynnie, is Mario (not you Perez) rubbing off on you. You can be a citizen of the world and not be anti US.

  22. 22

What is the problem. Is there anything strange with the fact that in many European countries they have restored and taken care of their old architecture? That there is a differnt way of living in some countries? She just say's that she notices the differences between the different countries, and that she enjoys different things with that. And should she be trashed because she is able to discuss that in more than one language? What is preferable? That or being totally ignorant to the fact that countries and cultures are different around the globe?

  23. 23

perez, get over it. Europe has a much older history in terms of architecture than the U.S.–she's right; their concept of 'old' is much different than ours. In Prague, their "new" city hall is over 100 yrs old. the spanish are known for their laid back lifestyle–is being on a BB 24/7 really enjoying life?

  24. 24

I get what she is trying to say and she is right to a large extent. Europeon countries do, obviously, have much older buildings and more engrained cultures because they have been around a lot longer than the US (except for Native Americans). And Americans do use their cells more than most Europeons. However, these aren't comments famous people should be just publicly throwing around because they are too easily miscontrued and misunderstood as far as the commentor's true intent. This is what makes Gwyn a complete dumbass. She is so stupid she doesn't realized how snooty and stuckup and pompous she comes across when she says shit like this. And she probably really is a snob. If she had two brain cells she would at least try to hid it.

  25. 25

visca espanya! i dont blame her for liking europe more!

  26. 26

Shut the fuck up, you fat fuck. She happens to like Spain. Big deal! I'm American born and raised and there are other countries I've loved visiting and maybe I'd like to live in some day. Who cares? That's not being anti-American, it's just a matter of prefferance. Stupid fuck, trying to take things out of context. Wish I can give you a shiner, you man/bear/pig sonofabitch.

  27. 27

Oh, by the way. I think I might know why you don't like her (and feel the need to diss her for the same things you praise in others…). She is fairly private as a person. She works in the entertainment industry, but not in a way that contributes to your success. She isn't running around LA without underwear, she isn't pimping out her kids in pictures, she isn't giving you anything to go with really. So no "LA-LA Land" for Perez equals "bad celebrity".

  28. 28

Re: imsoregistered – you make me sick too.

  29. 29

She has a daughter with special needs and I'm sure it is easier to be in Spain than US

  30. 30

mario - just because you have no family to be around doesn't mean everyone else doesn't……she's absolutely correct in her thinking in regards to busy, busy, busy no time for family. family time has gone out the window in america……way back when, the family used to all sit at the dinner table together and eat. nowadays your lucky if the entire family is all in the house at dinner time…….

  31. 31

Meh. IF it weren't for her clothes, she might as well be gone.

  32. 32

How do you act in Spanish?

  33. 33

She should take her dumb ass to Spain then, Good riddance Bitch!!

  34. LeXXi says – reply to this

    34

That didn't sound like she was full of herself, she just enjoys a different lifstyle… you know Spanish too…it's totally fine to like it somewhere else and enjoy a different culture.

  35. 35

What a pretentious little twit. Who gives a crap that she can speak Spanish. So can millions of other people. What she should be worried about is the way her children will be made fun of all their lives with those ridiculously stupid names!

  36. 36

  37. 37

I love how Americans get sooooo angry at Gwyneth……..the reality is, she speaks the TRUTH about most Americans. And she's almost always correct - about many things.

If Americans actually travelled and understood the real world, they would agree with her. The sad fact is, less than 7% of Americans have a passport or have ever left the country.

How can you possibly claim to be, among other things, the greatest, or the best or any other ridiculous claim you guys make, if you have NEVER BEEN ANYWHERE Else?

Most other countries are not obsessed with money and work the way America is. Gwyneth is merely speaking the truth…..

  38. 38

    YAWN!

  39. 39

I'm not a fan of hers at all but she did make some good points. The way of life in Spain is much slower than that of New Yorkers and yes, their focus is on the family. Money is not a huge deal to them, which is probably one reason why they are so much more content than we are. It's all generalizations of course but I do think in some ways we Americans could learn something from them. We shouldn't dismiss it just because Gwyneth talks about it.

  40. 40

Go pal up with Jessica Lange!
Its embarrassing for all of us that both of you are Americans.

  41. 41

oh someone's jealous about having to live in the states. get it, the old europe (even spain wasn't meant as such by Rumsfeld) is superior to the states. living is better, people are healthier and the educationlevel is better. grad to be grown up here in europe (which btw has nearly twice as much inhabitants than the states and it's € is going to overrule the $ soon as world's leading money ;-) )

  42. 42

In my Amerian home town historic buildings are constantly being torn down to make way for shiney 'new and improved'. And unfortunately that's too common for the US.

When you go to Europe, it's amazing to be amongst architecture that's hundreds of years old.

What she said is very true.

  43. 43

uhmm - She didn't really dis America - she said the buildings are older in Europe - THEY ARE - she prolly meant 70, not 17 years - her translater shoulbe be fired!!!!!!!! and she won the oscar for best actress - I'm shure she's more then an okay actress - its comment like these that make people not able to critique america - or even comment on it - GEEZE LOUISE

  44. 44

usually i totally agree with you perez, but on this one i think you're wrong. i got to study abroad in spain when i was a teenager, and i completely understand where gwyneth is coming from when she says she likes their way of life better. she's right! and i personally don't think that appreciating other cultures and seeing faults in her own country makes her pretentious. just my opinion though.

  45. 45

I agree with her. I love going to Europe and thereabouts because the history there is amazing and the culture is so much more laid back and timeless. I love America too but it seems everybody is just in too much of a hurry to go everywhere.

  46. 46

in regards to the history….she's a bit wrong w/ that and so is anyone else that thinks our country doesn't have "history"…..there's plenty of history in these states, it just doesn't jump out at you as it does abroad. my city was founded in 1787, there's puh-lenty of history around here including the old cobble stone sidewalks, huge and gorgeous old mansions and farm houses, or visit the capital that was burnt to the ground in 1897 to be built back up in the following years, now a historical landmark that President Teddy Roosevelt once visited and commented on…….guess Ms. Paltrow isn't aware of the civil war that carried into Gettysburg where President Lincoln delivered his speech against slavery. need i go on?

  47. 47

I think there are two reasons so many people think that she's awful: first, she never acknowledges how privileged her life is, and her comments leave readers to think that she's looking down on them for not broadening their "choices" when choices really might be circumstances–not many people can afford international vacations more than once in a lifetime. Second, she really generalizes–I'm sure many people in Spain do have Blackberries and that there are newer buildings and vise versa with New York, yet her statements allow no room to see these things.

  48. 48

Re: Zoesmom – while I do agree w/ your comments about Gwyneth being correct about work ethic and family - please note her comments about history are incorrect, unintelligent and demeaning though.

  49. 49

Ms. Paltrow…. why dont you visit Saint Augustine, Florida (the Nation's oldest city) where the buildings are over a century old.. ya Moron.

  50. 50

Im sorry but shes right…. I see nothing historically special in the US compared to abroad. We think we have this great history, and we do….but if you want beautful eccentric buildings that still stand without seeing a strip mall every 5 miles…. here is NOT the place.

  51. 51

She does seem quite pretentious. We have a lot of beautiful, old architecture here. The Indians are the history of this country prior to European civilation and building, so I think that history is just as amazing as any other. It just wasn't western civilization. I do agree that America is too busy and that other cultures enjoy life more than we do!

  52. 52

you are being as much judgemental as patrioc.
We do work overhere in Europe but we also know when to stop.
We have centuries of tradition and history and for that, I agree with her.
She never said Spain was better than USA…

  53. 53

Can I get an "Amen" ? Ah, Perez, we love you.

  54. 54

I also have to say that, yeah, it's easy for her to sit back, relax and enjoy life. She's wealthy! In the US it's very hard now a days for families to live on one income, take vacations, etc. The cost of living in many parts of this country is high.

  55. 55

I don't think she was bagging on the US. And she is right…they do enjoy life differently than we do. And the food is amazing….

  56. 56

Adios Punta!! How's that for an American/Spanglish farwell?!@

  57. 57

    Here's a tip for u Gwyneth, "callate la boca"…..
Here's another tip for you Gwyneth, "shut the fuck up."

  58. 58

she never has anything positive to say about the US… not like i'm expecting her to belt out her own rendition of "proud to be an american"… who does she think she is? it's sooooo time for someone to knock her ass down a few notches… **NEWSFLASH** we don't like you either, gwenyth… she even has a stuck up name…blah

  59. 59

Quite the snob for someone who didn't finish college.

  60. 60

shes right. its weird that americans think that theyre country is the best to live in ..um, its not.

  61. 61

I think she's a great actress. No one HAS to watch her act if they don't want to. And yet another misleading title. The article has no mention of not "liking America." I'd have a house in Spain if I could, so good for her!

  62. Anne says – reply to this

    62

She just showed that she has "mierda" in her head, how can you compare Spain with America, doesn´t she realize that first island in America was discovered in 1492, by then Spain and all European countries had buildings that were already old and we had indians living under tents, isn´t it logical that their buildings and houses are a little bit older? duuuh! turn your brain on girl, ashaming….

  63. 63

Re: imsoregistered – there is nothing wrong with your way of communication as there is nothing wrong with our way of communicating. and besides Americans are not the only ones spending $$$ to see our buildings. Europeans do it on a regular basis.

  64. 64

Don't be ridiculous. All this shows is that Perez really has no culture. This post is spewing insecurity about where you are. Spain is a beautiful, cultural, slow-paced place. Maybe that would do you some good.

  65. 65

Hahaha. That was a hilarious read! She is so annoying… "the pretentious hater," ha!

  66. 66

She is beautiful, highly intelligent and so so blessed to have had the life she has. You & some of your readers are pathetic……Envy is one of the 7 deadly sins…verdad? Please perez…. get a life… she is totally on the mark, the Europeans do know how to live better. The beauty of any European city or village is breath taking & she is justified in saying the beauty is far greater than any in the USA. Is she not aloud to have an opinion? & Europeans aren't grossly overweight as a people & they don't kill themselves trying to get ahead by stepping on every other human being they can….Ring any bells you turd?

  67. 67

You, and the people that agree with you, are twats.
You've clearly never been to Europe. She's 100% right. Only idiotic fuckhats think Americans have it right all the time. I mean, you're tryin' to hate b/c she said the Spanish make time for their families by saying "some people have to work?" You're one, stupid, God-damned propagandist bitch if I ever did see one.

  68. 68

Her book is also bull. She won't eat pork and that is half of the food over there. how pretentious she is. What a sad boring life she must have to try so hard to find a nitch for herself. She reminds me of the less attractive friends of the cheerleaders in high School who was always trying overly hard to be interesting.

  69. 69

She's such a snob. Yuck. She's never had to struggle for anything so she thinks she's superior. If mommy and daddy weresn't in showbiz, she would never be where she is today.

  70. Sgirl says – reply to this

    70

You should know. You are the king of alienating people - Matthew Sheppard Foundation, any decent human being. Charities won't even take your money! Hahhahahahahahahah. Go back to cuba fat ass!

  71. 71

People, she was obviously generalizing when she said the building here were only 17 years old. Have you guys ever been to Spain? I mean, there is no comparison. It is absolutely breathtaking over there. The culture and their way of life is just more full there. Americans should actually own the fact that our country is just in our teenage angst years compare to the countries in Europe. I mean us being overconfident, vain, egotistical, and generally confused.

  72. 72

Re: mimi85 – Yet you want Sasha Baron Cohen to go away. Well, no one has to watch him act either, hypocrite!

  73. 73

She's just being honest about her experiences abroad… travel the world a bit and you'll see. Spain and France are both wonderful places with loving people. I felt more compassion and love a few weeks abroad than I have spending years living in the States, but my home is here. (even if I'm a second class citizen here).

  74. 74

Then I guess she loves bullfighting: the cruelest, most bloodthisty sport in the history of the world. Way to go Gwyneth-you're disgusting!

  75. 75

Re: Nickysue – @ 49 -most definitely!!! St. Augustine was the most gorgeous place I've ever been too and was far from the busy life in NYC!!!

  76. 76

Y QUE?????? Todos tenemos derecho a que nos guste más otro país que el país donde nacimos o nos criamos, ella es una persona culta y educada lo que obviamente el pendejo de Perez no es y lo corroe la envidia…
We won´t miss you either perez if you go to hell and stay there for the rest of the eternity…

  77. 77

there's a lot of europeans living in the states for it to be so great and grand!!!!!

  78. 78

    Re: Kalia – Exactly!!!

  79. 79

what, enjoying another country makes her a "pretentious hater"??? You know there's a whole huge fucking world out there besides your precious "El Lay" as you so obnoxiously like to call it Perez. I don't get it. WHY do people think it makes you a snob to enjoy disconnecting from America and learning another way of life? Everyone should do it. Get a fucking passport people! See the world!
    .
I've lived in several other countries and LOVED it, and see the US in a totally different light now, but I won't talk about that.
    .
Because apparently that makes me a pretentious alienating snob.

  80. 80

What is wrong with you people? The woman has an opinion, let it go.

I love how Americans scream "freedom of speech" but when someone DOES speak their mind, they get ripped apart.

    : ) You people are funny…you hate…for no good reason. :P

  81. 81

She is pretentious and condescending, no wonder so many people can't stand her. If she didn't have her looks and marriage to Mr. Coldplay, she'd be on some crappy reality show or Gossip Girl. Just wish she would move away from the USA since she hates America so much.

  82. 82

Perez, I'm a proud American and I love my country!!!!
And I've traveled a lot, and I lived in Italy for 9 months. And I ADORE Italy. Have you ever been to Venice? To Florence? I'm crazy about Italy! I love the history, the culture, the music, the food, the architecture, the people….
    So shoot me! :-D

  83. 83

I've heard her speaking spanish and it is not so perfect. She has a lot of accent, sounds like an american tourist trying the language. Not to special. Know people that in a month there speaks better then she. I am sure that now she is having spanish classes to improve her knowledgment. And how can her enjoy spanish cousine if she doenst eat jamon (ham a very yummi dish from Spain). And she married Chris Martin. What's wrong with the world?

  84. 84

Re: AbbyRoad – Visca Espanya??? Ets Catalan?? Per que no escrius Visca Catalunya???
    Catalonia is not Spain.

  85. 85

Re: _Jeannie_ – No one is saying Gwyneth shouldn't have freedom of speech, however we ALSO have the freedom to critcize her. That's how it works here in the USA. DUH!!

  86. 86

she needs to stfu and go away. if she so prefers europe to the united states then she should consider renoucning her us citizenship. hell, we don't want her. one word to describe her: VAPID

  87. 87

All the Iberian accent in the world can't make up for the fact that Gwynnie just isn't naturally pretty. This elitist needs to wear some MAKEUP when she goes out in public and not worry so much about other people's BBMs

  88. 88

Why hate her? Her experiences are more varied than mine and she probably has a better handle on it than the rest of us…and it is only how her experiences influence her… if we had the same experiences we might see them differntly, that's what makes life so interesting!

  89. 89

I love Gwyneth! She is one of my favorite actresses-and she's gorgeous. Having a respect for other peoples culture and history isn't a bad thing-it should be encouraged, not discouraged!

  90. 90

Stop being such a bitch!…You're just jealous because she speaks Spanish much better than you, and she actually has talent, unlike you, pendejo.

  91. 91

Perez, even if you hate her, she's actually kind of right, here in europe (at least spain and france) life is not as accelerated as in NYC, that's why i love the apple.

  92. 92

I kind of agree with her…but I would miss my life.

  93. 93

THE ACTING OFFERS MUST BE DRYING UP…. SHE IS OBVIOUSLY PRETENTIOUS BECAUSE IF SHE KNEW ANY BETTER SHE WOULDNT SAY ANYTHING DUMB LIKE "AN OLD BUILDING IN USA IS LIKE 17 YRS OLD"…IF U ARE GONNA BE ON HIGH HORSE THEN AT LEASE INFORM AND EDUCATE URSELF FIRST !!

  94. 94

She is a spoiled, egocentric rich actress, but totally on the money in regards to life in Spain - and in Europe, generally. Americans live to work, Euro's work to live and enjoy life much more than in this work obsessed, puritanical country. Having been to Spain several times, nothing in the USA can compare.

  95. 95

    I LOVE GWYNETH PATROW!

  96. 96

Gwyneth is right. Being an American, who is living overseas, I can totally understand. America isnt such a bad place, but most Americans suck ass. Not all, but most.

  97. 97

Oh, come on, so rough of you…
She is a great actress and I'm sure she doesn't make any effort to be dear with the tabs or papz, but who could blame her?

She has a point…America is only 200 some-odd years old. And do you think it’s wise to be hatin' on your ancestors Perez…unless of course you have Cuban indigenous roots which if I find incredibly hard to believe.

How on earth is this woman writing a cookbook? I thought she only ate grass and twigs? Isn't she on one of those ridiculous macrobiotic diets? I cannot stand this woman. Never could.

dude seriously? most building are 17 years old? thats because you live in a make believe hollywood world and your house was just built. Just because America is a newer country doesn't mean it has no history. There are still buildings in upstate New York from the 1600's. But who am I to talk? I guess Gwen just knows everything.
