The Staples Center must have bulked up their servers big time!
The venue's website was visited over 500 million times within the first hour of opening registration for Michael Jackson's memorial!!!!
Out of those 500 million, only 17,500 fans will be awarded a ticket for the memorial service through a lottery.
Although the Jackson family set up the lottery to cut down on confusion, you just know that shiz will be on Craigslist in a few days for major $$$$$!

First of all, 500 million people is one third of the number of people in the world who have access to the internet, and there's no way they would all be MJ fans and all decide to go visit that website at the same time. Second of all, 500 million visits does not mean 500 million individual visitors. The website might have had a large number of hits (although certainly not 500 million, there's no way a server could survive 500 million hits within an hour) but that can most likely be linked to some smart geeks using software robots to automatically log in several times a minute and try to get seats to the funeral so they can sell it for a good price on the black market.
