Huntington Valley is NOT Philadelphia…completely different

    2. 102

It's hard for me to fathom that people still act like this! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! The club should be ashamed of themselves, but they won't be they get enough $ from the racist rich people. Sucky for those kids!

    3. 103

GIVE ME A BREAK…for all the white people on here "disgusted" and "horrified" dont even act like you wouldn't be scared of a bunch of minority kids coming to your pool. Instead of trying to be politically correct, lets admit that minorities (especially hispanics) create problems. Why is it that over 70% of black women who have babies, have them out of wedlock…why is it that most of the "bad" areas around the U.S are mostly minority areas. Instead of immediately being offended and "horrified" just think about it. Im not saying all minorities are bad…but they need to stop blaming white people for their problems and actually FIX their problems. Im sick of white people having to apologize for bullshit. The past is over. If a bunch of minorities could join a pool and act civilized, this wouldn't happen. But give me a break…these black kids did not go in there acting like angels and then get kicked out for no reason.

    4. 104

this is TERRIBLE. those poor kids. the swim club needs to be investigated.

    5. 105

      wow.

      that is just sad.

    6. 106

You folks can live in candycane dreamland if you want, but I live in Philadelphia, and if if the pools where those black kids normally go were open, the white suburb kids wouldn't be able to go that neighborhood without risk of getting killed, and that's a fact. I guarantee that most of the disgusted people have never lived in a heavily mixed urban area, or they would know what the reality is. Stay in your cocoon where it's safe and you can judge others.

Re: ktheg8 – Ktheg, you don't have any idea what you are talking about. It wasn't until recently that black folks started to move to the Northeast Philadelphia area when the area was turned into a giant rental circus by the folks from NYC during the real estate boom. Now crime has skyrocketed people are getting jumped, robbed and shot, and for the first time since we moved in 15 years ago, there are helicopters flying all over EVERY WEEKEND. You grew up in the burbs and are clueless. Spend 6 months in west or north philly and see if you feel the same if you're still alive.

Re: Orly05 – you really make me sick every day i get reminded on how evil white people can be

    9. 109

      Re: Orly05
I'm going to be honest..I somewhat agree with you. While I wouldn't be worried about my stuff getting stolen or getting shot, from my experience and the people I've witnessed, black kids aren't well behaved. Their parents let them run around and do whatever they want. Sorry, but I probably wouldn't want them there either. Why can't they just go to a public pool anyways?

    10. 110

I hate it when we're given direct quotes and yet still dumb asses who obviously failed reading classes want to sit here and justify the means of the club.

Re: chellie1234 – Get your head out of your ass. Trying to say that the Black kids would have trashed the place? Oh sure. Because you can put ALL of us together like that. Not every person you meet lacks home training.
Re: Orly05 – "Rowdy Minority kids" Oh fuck you. Again another asshole. Like every "minority" you meet has some interest in tearing shit up, being loud, and stealing your cheap ass shit. Get the hell over yourself. Keep your two cents because I've seen some White people act just as stupid and messy at private clubs.

    11. 111

Re: JohnnyD – Read again, stupid. The club's side is clearly stated.
Re: xman66 – Excuse me? Wow. You tried to say something useful but you sort of lost yourself. Now we're animals who can't act right and therefore had it coming. Oh Fuck you pal. Fuck you.
Re: MAB1968 – Wow. What stereotypes? I didn't know we had to act a certain way to be considered a minority to begin with. The hell kind of statement is that? "Most minorities live up to their stereotypes"?
      Re: weesie1 – Understand what….that you're a shitty typist?
Re: straighticketvoter – Oh of course not. Because little Black kids don't tell the truth, right? :) Of course not. They're just lying little troublemakers.
Re: Christine528 – Both sides are presented. Read again.

    12. 112

The actions of the "club", as presented in the news article, are downright reprehensible. BUT something tells me we're not getting the full story.

    13. 113

Re: Orly05 – Give ME a break. You say not all people are bad in one sentence but go off on single mothers. Then you go off on minorities as a whole. You speak for a percentage NOT an entire group of people. Like we haven't tried "coming together" and stopping the destruction. As if to say we're happy with it. Don't assume we ALL blame White people for everything. To be honest, I'm more afraid that some White people are going to end up expressing themselves and coming to attack ME.

    14. 114

Re: wayneee2006 – And YOU stay in your segregated city. Nobody has to live in dreamland. and NOBODY should be excluded from a pool they've paid hard earned cash for just because others ASSUME they're going to do something stupid/reckless/whatever. Sorry love I live in a totally mixed area where the White people judge the Blacks and vice versa. That in itself is pathetic but you don't seem 'em saying "you can't be in our pool" or something so equally stupid.

    15. 115

Even though I completely disagree with what the pool did you must read the whole story regarding "changing the complexion". It has nothing to do with the color of their skin but rather that 65 kids from a day camp will be entering this small pool all at the same time. The pool board did use an extremely poor choice of words there. But being a Philadelphian it hurts to see this especially with so many diverse neighborhoods out there in our city.

    16. 116

That's Philly for ya. We have the highest crime rate here and if you lived here like I do you would see that this happens all the time.

    17. 117

I DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR THESE KIDS AT ALL. WHY THE FUCK WOULD AN ADULT-THAT LIVES IN PENNSYLVANIA-WANT TO SUBJECT YOUR BLACK CHILD TO A WHOLE BUNCH OF WHITE PEOPLE JUST FOR A SWIM? THAT FACT THAT WHITE PEOPLE ARE STILL AS RACIST AS THEY WERE WHEN AFRICANS WERE BROUGHT HERE IS REASON ENOUGH TO KEEP YOUR KIDS AWAY FROM THEM. NOT ALL WHITE PEOPLE ARE RACIST-BUT A LOT ARE. LET'S NOT FORGET YOU ARE LIVING IN A CITY THAT PROMOTES BROTHERLY LOVE, BUT HOW MANY BLACK PEOPLE DO YOU SEE IN THE COMMERCIALS OR ADVERTISEMENTS FOR PENNSYLVANIA? NONE.
I AGREE WITH THE WHITE PEOPLE THAT HAVE MADE THE COMMENTS. IF YOU KNOW THAT DON'T WANT YOU THEIR WHY GO…THEY ARE PRIVATE FOR A REASON. IF A WHITE PERSON TELLS YOU THEY HAVEN'T SEEN IT OR HEARD IT OR THAT WAS IN ANOTHER PART OF TOWN OR BLACKS IN PHILLY ARE ROWDY, IT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY ARE APART OF IT AND WOULDN'T LET YOUR BLACK CHILD IN THEIR POOL EITHER.

    18. 118

First of all Perez, this didn't happen in Philly. It happened in Montgomery County. I live in Philly don't talk shit on Philly. Come to philly and see for yourself. It's not all bad either…. Philly can be awesome.

    19. 119

      Re: chellie1234
See…this a white person who isn't afraid to admit that they don't like blacks. The hate is up front for all to see. These are the types of white people that I am not afriad of. You see the ignorance and the hate and you know already-if they could lynch me, they would!
I say don't hide the hate-wear it like a shirt, or a white sheet.
God Bless You for the courage to be and say the things you want.

    20. 120

ummm… as a resident of NE philadelphia i'll be honest…blacks are like cockroaches, the more blacks in the area, the worse the neighborhood gets, all run down and crap, ghetto-like.

it sucks. i like the black people i know but that ghetto effect they have on any area they choose to inhabit is horrible.

      ehhh…. RIP my old neighborhood.

    21. 121

I'd like to see both sides of this first of all. I'm not going to start pointing fingers on something that is this intense that I haven't heard everything about. And second of all, if it WAS based on race, and not on the behavior of the kids, then that is sickening!

And to those of you that are posting racist things… you obviously have had little to no experience with diversity. I live in Philadelphia, in a very diverse area. Behavior has nothing to do with race. To be honest, if anything it has to do with location… regardless of what color of skin you have.

    22. 122

As someone from the Philly area, I can only say, what a disgrace!!! Damn, thought those days were done. And yes, I'm white.

    23. 123

Re: thecleopets – really now, haven't we had enough of Uncle Al this week???!!! I'm so sick of him, I could just yak!

    24. 124

how ignorant… i cant believe how uneducated some people are, after all the struggles people have gone through for racial equality. What makes some people believe that they are better then others??

    25. 125

This story just made World News Tonight…Makes me sad to be from Philly…

    26. 126

Re: chelseab123 – lol. It kind of reminds you of when he used to make fun of others such as Avril Lavigne and Britany Spears for saying the wrong name of the place during concerts in front of loads of people. Oh, and yeah, this whole racism incident really sucks.

    27. 127

This news is all over Philly right now and everyone's pisssssssssed. I am ashamed to have these people represent us. That woman is a racist ignorant slut and she's the one that should have been kicked out. I hope that club gets their asses sued.

    28. 128

Re: Orly05 – Especially Hispanics? Singling out a single race and claiming that they create problems is an idea from "the past". Clearly "the past" isn't over. I agree that a bunch of kids going into a pool would cause problems with their noise and intense energy levels, but I also agree that all kids are like that regardless of their race.

    29. 129

Re: Down The Rabbit Hole – Thats the problem! people always try to be politically correct and say well white kids do the same thing. Dont take my word for it…just look at statistics!! If anything is ever going to change, minorities need to stop constantly making excuses in regards to the past. It was EVIL what was done to blacks then and those people are with the devil for it now. However, things HAVE changed and you cant blame white people for everything. Im not saying all black people are dangerous…but it seems like whenever you hear about a crime, it's usually a minority. Dont just take offense to it..think about it. I know that there are factors, and I do feel bad about poverty, etc. And I could be wrong, but it seems like whenever I look at the tv or in public, a black person is talking slang (not even english),there's unwed mothers that act like hoe's and that their situation is not even a big deal, and kids allowed to do whatever they want. I am 22 and didn't grow up during the civil rights era so I am not racist. The truth is the truth. the more black people always get offended and call people racist, nothing will ever improve. it's just reality.

    30. 130

Re: Orly05 – You don't have to have grown up in the civil rights era to be racist, and there are many truths out there. Not just one. That is how wars and prejudices start by people thinking that there is only one truth out there and everyone else is wrong. I'm 26 and know plenty of racist people who clearly weren't alive during any civil rights era. We are just going to have to agree to disagree. Peace.

    31. 131

I moved to Philadelphia thinking it would really be the 'city of brotherly love', but I was mistaken. I have never met such rude horrible people in my life…this disgusts me.

    32. 132

I live in philadelphia, and honestly if the kids were kicked out i understand why. I am not racist and have plenty of black friends, and I dont mean to sound rude, but when alot of them get together…its just bad. I've witnessed it with my friends, they act differently and try to show off. I think these kids were probably really rude and loud and didnt follow the rules.

    33. 133

This happened right outside of Philadelphia. And as Philadelphian, I am disgusted by the ignorant suburban snobs who did this.
