I'm so very sorry, Perez, but you went to NYU and for theater no less, you know that this isn't performance art. The mask was what it was, the press conference itself was just Stefani whatsherface being arrogant. She is not a performance artist, nor counterculture, because it's all been done and her work isn't sincere. She is not a true pop star because her attitude is ugly. I just read an article about hipster culture that discussed how once a counterculture is no longer subversive and original, it really isn't a counterculture. That could just as easily be applied to Gaga and her copycatting ways. And as far as pop stars go, take someone like MJ for example: the most attractive and truly royal part of his persona was his innocence, candor, grace, and HUMILITY, above all. Gaga could use a big time 101 in these traits.
