Hilary Clinton on The Detained Journalists

Even more good news for American journalists Laura Ling (sister of Lisa Ling) and Euna Lee, who are currently imprisoned in North Korea for "committing hostile acts" against the country, as well as entering the communist nation "illegally."
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is doing everything in her power for the country to grant Lee and Ling "amnesty" and be allowed to return to the States.
Said Clinton during a Q&A Friday morning: "The two journalists and their families have expressed great remorse for this incident, and I think everyone is very sorry that it happened. What we hope for now is that these two young women would be granted amnesty through the North Korean system and be allowed to return home to their families as soon as possible."
Both reporters were sentenced to 12 years of "hard labor," but are currently residing in a guest house in the North Korean capital of Pyongyang, where University of Georgia scholar Han Park has said the two women are "staying well."

I think she is being very diplomatic as all are in thier wording to aid in the return of the two woman. This is so sad but very real and happens a lot more than we know. I hope she can make a differance as it is ridiculous that they are being held at all but you will not hear that. All you will hear is how sorry we are and so on.Whatever it takes to get them back. However, I do wonder if this would have generated as much publicity had it not been the sister of someone,somewhat famous? Lesson learned, stay out of communist countries!!!

Lisa Ling was on the view for years. She has a very strict family. They are still Americans. People cross our boarders every day and we don't give them 12 years of hard labor. Come on. This is bull shit! JMO! That govt. wants something from the USA! We will find out soon enough.

Lisa Lang cares deeply for her sister and to add to this her sister has small children who miss their Momma - I do hope both Lee and Ling are reunited with their families with God speed - someone has to be objective to see that they meant no wrong.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. They didn't cross illegally in to Canada. They knew what they were doing and they got caught. Should " reporters " get a free pass? We should be handing out the same kind of punishment, then maybe all of the beaners would stay on their side.
