She just loves the country so damn much! Gwyneth Paltrow might love Spain more than she loves her husband, Chris Martin, which sounds silly, but is factual.
The Oscar-winning actress may soon be making home there in the Iberian Peninsula with her Coldplaying hubby and her two adorable kids.
Gwyn has just been given a plot of land outside Madrid from a family she spent time with as a teenager, while learning the language. She is said to be very excited to immerse herself in the culture once more, as Spain is apparently quite superior to America.
Adios, Gwyn.

Secondly, since when does loving another country and even feeling some of its influences, mean you can't also be American? We are a melting pot. We came from everywhere. Don't be so touchy. Flan started in Spain. I'm a Mexican Food Chef. We got it from them. But churros are straight up Mex as are some of my fave dishes ever. And it is true that a lot of European countries take a lot more holidays than we do-which was what her much criticized quote was about. Places like Italy, Spain and France are constantly on holiday for random Saints days and the like. That is a fact. Look at their calendar That is what she was saying. Some people like that. It does leave more family time–which is what she was saying. And this is where I'm going to get in trouble, but it makes countries with less holiday time more productive. The US is more productive. I happen to prefer the more productive, but that is my choice. But if she doesn't, whatever. Who cares?
I hit send too soon. By productive, I mean actuall GDP, actual output of goods/services. But in the larger scheme, who cares?

Look, if she's more comfortable in another country, what's the big deal? I love America, my hubby is active duty Military, but I am not so vain that I would fault someone else liking another country over the USA. We're NOT perfect - I personally love the land way more than our way of life here….maybe things will change now that we have an intelligent president in office, but I'm not going to beat someone up over their love of other places.

That's the United States of America where we can do darn near anything we want when comparied with other countries of the world. Sure, we've got growing pains and a few things still need addressed…. but hey, you wouldn't be reading this in China, or Tehran, or Sauri Arabia, or Venezuela. I've been to both countries plenty of times & I'll tel ya I'd rather live in spain then in America - the most fucked up country in the world… I've actually seen the world - not like you lot in your bubble…
Those of you who'd rather live elsewhere should move. Seriously. I'm not a world traveller and have only been to 14 countries. There are lovely places to visit and wonderful foods to eat and inspirational places to pray. But at the end of the day, I will take my great health care with the world's best medical centers and my freedom to own a gun and my pray and assemble as I want and in a country I know has laws founded in Judeo-Christian principles. In fact, it's those principles that teaches us to live and live, to respect and be respected. It's the right to own property. It's the right to vote — or not to vote. I'll gladly put the U.S. of A against any other country, conduct a SWOT analysis, and concede defeat if I could find a nation that is more suited to my wants.
As I said, if you want to live elsewhere, then pack up your crap and go!
