Jackson Family Reality Show A Go?!

Please, no!!!!!

A few month ago, A&E commissioned a one-hour special following the Jackson brothers, sans Michael, as they readied a new Jackson 5 album and reunion tour.

The special, titled The Jackson Family, following Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Randy was to air next year, but due to Michael's unexpected death, plans may change.

It was intended as a "backdoor pilot," as the network was waiting to gauge audience reaction before committing to a series.

"We have started discussing internally and with the family but have not yet decided what direction to take with the show," said network executives. "We are respecting the family's wishes right now, and at the appropriate time we will all decide what direction this program to take, so stay tuned."

No addition footage has been shot since Michael's death.

A classy move, but we're sure the network is drooling over the $$$$$ exploitative opportunities!

It was intended as a backdoor pilot! someone please tell me they didn't just say that! Oh well (bad choice of words) although I'm sure perez is excited! whenever backdoor is mentioned he gets giddy.

Joe Jackson is probably drooling — just one more way to exploit his family. I'm certain they'll call it "Joe and Kate Minus One."

What a bunch of greedy has-beens cashing in on their brothers death - I wouldn't be surprised if they had something to do with it - possibly sneaking drugs into Neverland.

    7. 7

Damn these people need to stop. Enough, damn.

Not to be rude, but the only Jackson I was interested in was Michael. If he was on the show, maybe I could see watching it but he obviously won't be so ……..

Other that that, maybe something with his kids would be interesting but I doubt he'd appreciate them being exploited.

I want Michael and only Michael. If it has to do with him and he aint in it, fo' get it people. Gotta end that crap.

    12. 12

i love michael and all . but im tired of hearing all this extra shit . leave him alone .

    13. 13

i bet this was joe's idea

    14. 14

Uhhhh.. Randy?? Randy Jackson isn't related to Michael Jackson. WTF?

    15. 15

Michael does have a brother called Randy; His nickname is Randy. He's not the one on American Idol.

It would not be a 'new Jackson 5 album' - it would be a new album by The Jacksons. They stopped calling themselves the Jackson 5 in the mid-70s.

There thinking about this bcuz nobody watches that channel! I don't even know what channel it's on! :)

    19. 19

actually i know for a fact this show was underway a LONG time before michael died. dont be so cynical people!

No one cares about J5 without Michael. I know it's harsh, but it is true. Some people will watch the reality show out of curiosity, but that will make ratings go up. I will only watch Michael; his videos, and listen to his music, for the rest of my life.

Even though this was in the works before, the network and the family should lay it to rest with Michael. But since he wasn't a part of it anyway, they may go ahead w/ it.

    21. 21

people would only hav watched it to see michael

    22. 22

well i'd rather see this then the hills or most of the other 9 million reality shows that have replaced actual t.v..
