Move Over Roger Ebert, The Vatican Gives Harry Potter Two Thumbs Up
The newest wizard flick Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has gotten the highest praise one could hope for: God's!
The Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano actually stood behind the newest addition to the franchise, even though there has been talk of the Christian community considering the series "Satanism."
Well, not anymore!
The Vatican particularly applauded the film for giving a clear assurance that good will overcome evil and in a major twist, even cheers the film's approach to the teenage lovefest, claiming it achieves the "correct balance" to be suitable for all audiences.
How do you like that?!
Not that you needed his approval before, but will U be seeing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince now that God says it's cool?

I think it's fucking stupid that some parents won't let their kids read the HP books because it promotes "satan" or whatever. I say any author that can get a small child to willingly read an 800 page book should get every writing award available. Not to mention the fact that the entire series teaches a lot of life lessons on equality, friendship and good vs evil.

I am a Christian and not only have I seen all the movies to date (and plan to see the next one!) I own and have read all the HP books! I LOVE THEM! Only nuts think they are Satanism…they ARE stories about good vs. evil. (And a lot of my Christian friends like the books too!) so THERE!

AHHHHHHHH I CANT WAIT! of course its gonna be amazing- bought my tix a while ago. i'm glad that the director/screen writer played up the romances in it. its such a dark book that it needs a little bit more for the movie to lighten it up a bit. glad to hear it paid off
You really think because the Vatican agrees with it means it's Christian? Catholics are on the far end of Christians. They make up whatever they want to put in the bible. The trinity? Even the Catholic Encyclopedia itself admits that they added scriptures to make the trinity more believable and that nothing in the bible says that God and Jesus are the same person, nothing.

I actually just got out of an advanced screening of it in BOSTON and it was GREAT!!!!! Things were slightly changed from the book but nothing really noticeable………except for one trip in the pensive that's missing. Don't wanna give ANYTHING away. It was like 2 1/2 hours, but worth every minute. Probably the best Potter flick yet! It prepares you for the craziness yet to come.
im a strong practicing catholic and i was still potter-obsessed.
and even if the vatican hated harry potter, i would still go see it.
