They say everyone has a price, but Michael Jackson's ex gets hers in installments!
Debbie Rowe, the pop star's former wife that acted as a surrogate for Jackson's two oldest children, was paid $4 million from her former mother-in-law to relinquish her parental rights - for good.
"It's one final payday," said a source. "They felt it was like a ransom-type thing. [Rowe] jumped back into the picture because she wanted money.
This is the third time Rowe has been given money to disappear from the children's lives, and she does not seem to mind.
After the birth of Prince Michael and Paris, she agreed to step aside and let Michael raise them in exchange for $8 million, plus $900,000 annually for five years.
It's like winning the soul-sucking lottery!
The second time was in 2001 when Jackson was in the midst of his child molestation case. Rowe wanted to exercise her parental rights but ended up giving Michael full custody for another $4 million plus a $900,000 home.

"This would be it. This takes away any rights she has to challenge custody at any given time," says a source regarding this final payday for Debbie. "If something happens to Katherine, [Rowe] can't challenge the next [guardian], whether that be Diana Ross or someone in the family."

They shouldn't have paid her at all. It was clear she was simply in it for the money (the reason she gave up custody in the first place). She never cared and that should've been their case against her. The kids are better off w/o someone who just shows up when there's money involved.
I think she has already lost any rights to custody - which judge would grant her custody after selling her children? Katherine should not pay her.
Then again, we don't know if this story is true. We have heard so many different stories, one time she was bonding with Katherine, then she was crying over Paris' words at the memorial service, then she was looking after her horses during the service and now she wants to cash in.
i think she should take the money because she definitely does not deserve the kids.

Seems like she has stepped forward the times when the children were in possible peril because of the actions of MJ. The fact that she had to come forward so many times makes MJ just as bad a parent. And don't forget he married her only to improve his image at the time and have her give birth to children. It was always a business arrangement. The fact that there are so many loose ends all these years later tells he was really stupid or there is something the media isn't being told about this deal.
Maybe…she's trying to do what's best for the kids because she realizes that she doesn't have the mother instinct. Not all women are cut out to be mom's, and she has not been in their lives at all thus far. Taking them into her life would be a mistake. But then of course….why take the money too??
