Matt Damon Announces New Good Deed

We like to see celebrities lending a helping hand!

Matt Damon has announced a new non-profit organization he has co-created called Water.org. This program seeks to provide safe, clean water access to nearly 890 million people and help out more than 2.5 billion people who aren't fortunate enough to have safe water sanitation.

The actor and humanitarian partnered with Gary White, the head of WaterPartners, to create this organization. Matt explains the importance of the program by saying, "Every 15 seconds, a child in the developing world dies from water-related disease. After visiting project sites in Africa and Asia with Gary, I've seen the problem and the impact of safe water."

Good work fellas. A noble cause.

Is a shirtless ad a good way to promote the cause????

We think so!

If anyone is interested in Water and Sanitation projects in third world countries check www.wusc.ca and see if your university has a WUSC club… if it does you might be able to join a WUSC project as part of an internship position! They take about 15 students per country they have projects in.

its great that all these celebrities wanna start charities and whatever..but why dont they start with the united states?? since most of them live in cali or ny..but nope bc its the 'in' thing to do for well of people…go sponser an african baby…why dont they start the condom retreat in these african countries so they would stop reproducing like bunniessss

Re: andriiiiia – @ 12 - Why? Don't you have fresh water to drink?
Water is the primary need. Imagine being thirsty, but no clean water…only dirty, diseased water. Critical needs come first.

Wow! Now I love him even more. Specially w/blonde hair. What a generous use of his fame.

I just checked out their website, made a small donation and signed up for email alerts. They make it easy with Paypal, credit card, phone in, or snail mail. Please donate if you can? What a great cause!

What kind of fucktard are you? Shirtless? New Good Deed. You're a self-righteous fat moron. You seriously serve no purpose on this earth other than to be an example of what NOT to be. For the first time in my life I can say and honestly mean, you are a fucking waste of air and skin.

You're not really suppose to announce your good deeds, right? If every celebrity gave money to these 3rd world countries, I think they would be better off. Don't ya think? They wanna get regular people to donate, BUT, really, they are the one with the big bucks. Living in million dollar mansions. Owning 3 houses in different cities. Wearing $200 jeans and using luggage that costs thousands of dollars. Flying on private planes, etc. C'mon. If all these celebs donated their money, it would help a lot.

What a great cause, and it's terrific that he's bringing attention to this this important organization that he co-created. Weirdly, I find his newly blonde hair kinda sexy. It's just a whole different look for him…

    Re: andriiiiia

No offense to you, but pretty much everyone in the US is able to take a drink of water without getting sick or dying. This is a very basic need. Take a second and think about how important water is in your daily life. I think that it's great for someone to use their celebrity status to help a worthy cause like this.
