I saw a funny interview with her talking about Britney and her Toxic song. She couldn't believe that someone would write a song that made her think of toxic shock syndrom, which you can potentially get from a tampon. She said, "I really thought her career was over after that one." It almost was! Thank God for that crying Britney guy online. He saved her career!

Those lyrics (when taken away from a tween pop up doll) actually have meaning - Tori shows us how the same words through different intonations can have a completely different meaning. Being "cute" is at the bottom of her list.

Such an amazing talent, our darling Myra Ellen is! I love some Britney when I'm in the mood for dancing, but Tori- she's got one for every mood, and can make ANYONE's song sound better than when they actually did it the first time around. OK, maybe not "better" to everyone's ears, but to mine - nothing could be better… wish this economy wasn't the way it is or my ass would be in a seat in KC come August, but I've got 2 lil ones that need things more than Mommy needs Tori - there's always next time….

Tori is the real deal. I've never seen another artist be more electric than her. She's the most enchanting piano player I have ever seen. I've met her quite a few times and she's smart, articulate, kind and just breath taking.
Not only does Britney lip sync, but she doesn't even write her own music. Blah.

Been listening to Tori Amos a long time. Her mind control programming that has been going on since she was born, by the hands of her pedophile, sadomasochistic father Reverend Ed Amos, has turned her into a living doll of alter egos. Her talent of playing the piano comes from the constant torture of what she endured as a child at the hands of him, and others. It saddens me to think about what she's really trying to get out of her on a subconscious level as she sings this song, towards the end she sings "Hit me baby, you always do, hit me baby one more time." Her fans really have no idea, as they laugh at that line, as if it's even remotely funny!
I must say thou, that this is a great cover, you can hear the swelling of emotions Tori brings out of her as she sings the song. It gives the song a voice, something Mind controlled monarch butterfly Britney Spears (her dad is a pedophile as well) could ever be programmed to do.
Britney spears really? People do realize this song was written with little 15yr old teeny bopper girls in mind?.

LOVE Brit and LOVE all her music, but it is a huge compliment for her that Tori Amos did one of her songs! Listening to her cover almost made me sad in a way. It's amazing how changing the beat of a song can completely change the meaning to someone.
