Miley Is The New Robert Pattinson?
Disney doesn't want to get rid of their cash cow, Miley Cyrus, anytime soon. So the star-makers have acquired the rights to the bestselling Aprilynne Pike novel Wings as a vehicle for Nick Jonas' ex-girlfriend.
Well, it might be a "bestseller", but we've never heard of it. Have U?
The flick will be produced by Temple Hill, and get this, it will be executive produced by momma Tish Cyrus! What, was Billy Ray too busy working on his hair?
Apparently Temple Hill wants to get into the whole Twilight/Harry Potter niche with this supernatural story.
Smiley will play 15-year-old Laurel, who grows up thinking she's an average girl but finds out she's really a fairy once she starts growing some wings.
According to the book's site, "When Laurel is thrust into the midst of a centuries-old battle between faeries and trolls, she's torn between a human and a faerie love. In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever."
And considering that the novel, which was published in May, is just the first of a four-book planned series, we smell a sequel coming.
That is, if the movie doesn't bomb first.

I have read this book. It's definately not as good as twilight in the least bit it is for young teen readers. I think the only reason it has sold so well is because on the cover it is reviewed by Stephenie Meyer so people think it'll be great. l0l.

This book wasn't "just" published in May. I read it more than a year ago as well as it's sequel. FYI - It was also written by Holly Black who co-wrote "The Spiderwick Chronicles." This is not a fluffy faerie book. It is very, very dark. Miley Cyrus screams WRONG FOR THE PART on every inch of her body. The human character was not squeaky clean and she got even dirtier when she developed into Fey. Nor was she - as I'm sure they'll make Miley - pretty and shimmery and, well, girly. She converted into a GREEN, yep, all GREEN non-traditional faerie. These books are actually quite good, if you give them a chance, but the the main charter's part is just soooooooooooooo not FLUFFY enough for Miley.

I've actually read this book, and while it's not very widespread it's a very cute, semi original story.
Leave it to miley to ruin it.
The character is dainty. And younger then 15.
I think if done right, this film could appeal to either the young, or the old, it has a lot of adventure in it too.
But its mostly a fairytale and I can't see miley doing it well.

I've heard of the book before, just never read it. Some of my friends read it and said that even though it SOUNDS really stupid and immature, it's actually really good and has a Twilight-esque to it. IDK, seems interesting enough, atleast it's versatile.
