Tito Speaks!!! Michael Jackson's Intervention!!!
Filed under: Drugs > Michael Jackson
In his first interview since his brother's death, Tito Jackson opens up about the family's intervention to stop Michael's addiction to painkillers.
Here are some HIGHlights:
On Michael's secret habit:
“I never saw him on drugs. Not once. He deliberately did it away from us. He didn’t want his family to know anything about that part of him. He did almost everything in his power to make sure we didn’t know.”On the intervention:
“We had to act. It was me, my sisters Janet, Rebbie and La Toya and my brothers, Jackie and Randy. We bust right into the house and he was surprised to see us to say the least. We went into one of his private rooms and had a discussion with him. Some of us were crying. We kept asking him if it was true what we had heard that he was using drugs. He kept denying it. He said we were over-reacting. We also spoke to a doctor and he assured us it was not the situation. He said he was there to make sure Michael was healthy. On his skepticism:
“We didn’t know what to believe. We didn’t take what Michael said as the truth. We talked about it again and again for hours but we just couldn’t get through to him. After that occasion we tried many times but his team of people just shut us out, they would not let us close. They literally shut us out. I don’t know if they were just doing their job or if it they were part of some kind of conspiracy.I do know that Michael would say to them ‘I don’t care who it is, don’t let anybody on my property if they haven’t called first’.”On the pop star's handlers:
“In the first few intervention attempts his staff and security would not let us on the property.
They would block the road into Neverland with other vehicles so we couldn’t drive in, all kinds of crazy things. I don’t know whose instructions those were but that’s what happened. I went up there twice trying to get through before we finally did.On the start of Michael's addiction:
“He had been taking pain medicine because of the burns to his scalp and evidently he got some type of addiction from it. I understood he had got help for that addiction and after that I was always told he was doing ok. Before the intervention attempt I would never go to him and say ‘Are you still doing it?’ I would just say ‘Are you sure you’re fine?’ He’d say ‘I’m fine, TT’. If he said he was ok I believed him. He knew what I meant, he knew I was talking about drugs. On LeToya's allegations that her brother was murdered:
“I don’t know whether he was killed or not. But I would say that sometimes he had people around him that were not in his best interests. Whether his death was an accident or whether it was deliberate, something has gone on and we need to get to the bottom of it.”On plastic surgery:
“Michael's plastic surgery started around 1979, when he went solo. It was just something that a lot of entertainers were doing at the time.It started with just an alteration of his nose. He never told me why, but I think he thought it would improve his looks. It wasn’t a big deal having lip jobs, nose jobs or butt implants, especially living in California. He was trying to make himself attractive to himself. We all look at ourselves different. Everyone has a personal preference.
So sad.

HES DEAD GET OVER IT.. BEEN DEAD ON THE INSIDE FOR YEARS
RIP Michael
I am beyond over this!
Mario I hope karma torch yo ass on fire, you sick, heartless bastard for all these MJ posts claiming that he was some kind of out of control junkie.
frick people are totally blowing this MJ thing up
and MJ got a butt implant?? hahh
You know, I feel bad that MJ died and that he was so addicted to these drugs (allegedly) that people happily supplied him with. However, I just don't understand the whole addiction thing in the first place. I have had chronic pain for 30 years. I've had 7 surgeries, on my back among other places, and I have fibromyalgia. I am in constant pain. I do not take pain meds. The only type of meds that would work for my kind of pain are narcotics and I choose not to take them. Even after my surgeries, I just did not take any meds for pain. It's a decision. You just fucking get through the pain like an adult and not be a crybaby about it. More and more, I am starting to believe that people who get hooked on pain meds are just big, fucking babies, and I'm kind of sick of hearing about how bad their back hurt or how they had some surgery and they were in pain. Fucking deal with it and get your shit together. Christ, if anyone in this world has a right to get hooked on pain meds, it would be me. I endure it 24/7, since my birthday in 1979 when I broke my tailbone. So again. I'm sad MJ is gone, I wish he could have been a stronger person, but I hope they find the people who enabled his addiction with these meds and prosecute their asses off.
The family is so full of crap, it makes me ill.
At least he admits Michael Jackson was in TOTAL denial that he had problems..It wasnt their imagination! They DID go to him, for all you non believers who said 'oh thats not true thats not true!!!!"..nothing is ever TRUE with you gullable whacko worshippers.
lol
He wanted NO ONES help..wouldnt even admit to having a habit. So now he is where he PUT HIMSELF. DEAD.
he was on a path of self-destruction.
and if you had any heart at all,
you would feel slightly sorry for the guy.
maybe the family should start a Betty Ford-type
of drug center in MJ's name.
His legacy should be to help people fight drug
addiction, something he couldn't do in his life.
Love his music and his charitable work. Period. At least hes living better now. R.I.P
This is so bogus. You guys did see that it was printed by The Mirror, right? The Mirror is a British tabloid. All these faked interviews being released by the British press is highly annoying. The Jacksons hate the tabloids and always have, of all the news sources they could interview with (and they all want them right now), why would they chose tabloids, nonetheless ones without any credibility or foreign press when they could just jump right on headline news and do it? Think about it. Perez, stop printing EVERY SINGLE thing anyone says about anyone. I remember when people just accepted tabloids as a joke, now they are being printed as a fact. How sad. And by the way, Tito is one of the most silent of the Jacksons, I highly doubt he'd speak out right now, especially to The Mirror.
wHY DIDNT THEY TAKES STEPS TO HAVE THOSE CHILDREN REMOVED FROM HIM??iT MAKES NO SENSE THEY DIDNT DO THAT! Thats all the addict will listen to is if its something they want most in their life. Too late now.
RIP MJ! He was obviously disturbed.. let the man rest he is finally at peace but people still don't want to allow him that privacy even after his death. 80% of celebs are on some kind of pain killers, valume, street drugs or are alcoholics ect, it just comes with the territory..
Why does everyone seem to forget that this man is a child molester? I don't care if he was never convicted his behavior w/kids was completely indecent. Why mourn that man?
Perez this is old news!! You to busy trying to become a celebrity yourself and pimping yourself out that your site is sufferting for it! I used to come here to get all the gossip first but now your site is the last one to get information!
Michael lied about his drug use, just like he lied about molesting those boys. Liar! Now, a dead liar!
michael jackson had problems big problems im sorry if this may be offencesive but his FAMILY was never there for him when he was alive but now hes dead they are all keen to speak .i liked michael jackson seems everybody just took his kindness for weakness and he paid the price good and proper
Re: tasty dish – I agree with you!
I can't be bothered reading this because I don't believe anything you or the tabloids say.
Re: Miz Beeziee iz one Hip Kitty – thanks, Miz
Re: tasty dish – I agree! Great idea.
Out of all of Michael's brothers, I like Tito the best. He's the most level headed brother. I was hoping we'd be hearing from him. He should be the family spokes person instead of Joe Jackson. Joe is a bad reflection on the entire Jackson family.
There's nothing you can do if someone is hell bent on destroying himself and is in denial about any problems. They should have reported it to CPS and got those kids the hell out of there.
I'm sick of hearing about this Michael Jackson problems. He is finally at peace.
We all have problems, entertainers are just like all of us. 84% of all people living in the US are on some kind of drugs habit. 68% of them are on pain killers, street drugs or alcoholics… 20% are on narcotics.
So get over it, this is here to stay.
I miss the statement of the Pope in Rome!! Didn't he release anything about mj???
We miss you MJ! Rest in Peace.
i'm sick ’bout MJ seriously, get over it, he is dead that's it. okay he was the king of pop, i really loved him but i'm fricking tired of all that shit.
i thought he was addicted to 10 year old cock. is there an intervention for that
Re: jessounet – this is nothing. wait until the toxicology report comes in. poor MJ.
Let the man rest in peace already
Re: PurpleDocs – Alot of people don't take meds for SURGERIES - he was BURNED and severely burned at that. It doesn't heal in a few days like most surgeries and the worst isn't in the first week like a broken bone. Months later, you can have severe nerve damage later, causing you to feel like you are constantly being burned every hour of every day. Other people still, react to pain differently. What one person deems no pain, like a tattoo for instance, another can literally pass out from the pain. ALL people are different and no single person responds to pain the same way. But comparing breaking a tailbone to having half your head permanently scarred and constantly in pain from the scarring of nerves is absurd.
Tito & Marlon seem to have their shit straight.
oh michael, this breaks my heart. i wish he would have let his family help him
And then he asked for a loan before he left.
people are so judgemental!! he was NOT GUILTY…a jury said so. u never or understand y ppl may do things just b/c they r differnt doesnt make them bad if that was your mother, brother, sister, etc that was someone said this about after they were cleared by a jury of their peers..would u feel the same if you thought they were innocent.
He was a FREAK SHOW!!!!
butt implants?
Re: PurpleDocs – Wow poor you that sounds really rough. Addiction is a disease though its not about strength of character. A lot of evidence suggests that addictive personalities are genetic. In my immediate family there are three recovering addicts, and in my extended family there are at least 8 (that I know of) so believe me I know its an enormous obstacle to overcome!
Dude was an addict. HE was responsible for his addiction and his recovery.
Only two people will ever know if those kids were molested–Mike and God. It's just amazing how the media can manipulate some people so easily into cynicism. A big fat headline is like a disease that people catch. Some people are still judging the man and he's dead. It's really sad. Maybe those kids parents saw Mike as a cash cow opportunity? I repeat, no one but Mike or God knows what really happened. R.I.P. MJ, and if he did harm those children, it is up to God to deal with him.
It takes a really intelligent/mature person to understand the psyche of an individual and not criticize them. Everyone knows what events in Mike's life perpetuated his character and the decisions he made. It's just clear that people don't have God in their hearts, because when people do they understand. All of his choices didn't make sense to me either (the surgery–he was good looking), but I respect him. It was his life and he had the right to live it anyway he saw fit with the plastic surgery and the kids he had with Debbie Rowe.
I don't know, I guess I just try to live my life and respect everyone else for who they are.
Michael had enough resources to hide any alleged addictive behavior. He would absolutely realize his family would never approve, and he was incredibly bright; so masking any socially unacceptable behavior could be easily done and second nature to an aware and seasoned media conscious public figure. His family must not blame themselves.
Re: soyaknow – Here here!
Re: ItsToots – yes he was..and he was addicted to Diprivan. If you dont know what that means..here is the low down
Diprivan is NOT a painkiller!!! It is an anesthetic. Used to put patients in a coma type state prior to surgery. It is VERY VERY strong and addictive and can only be administered by a certified anesthesiologist. Not even just an M.D. can administer it. It is very lethal if not monitored VERY carefully!! In a hospital setting the anesth. has to have paddles to shock the heart if needed quickly, needles to inject into the heart if needed, oxygen, etc. It is not available to the public under ANY circumstances. So whoever was getting it for his home enjoyment for sleeping or whatever the hell he was doing…will be found and the charge will be manslaughter, not murder in the 1st, Because with homocide you must have unlawfull intent and commit murder that way Manslaughter iis different. They are guilty for providing the means of a homocide.
Re: soyaknow – Yeah he knew if he did or not…but he sure put himself in the bullseye for having young boys in his bed.. Especially being in a bedroom with a pre pubescent boy 12 years old is not a little child by any stretch of the imagination. Whether he diddled him or the kid diddle MJ who knows..but paying 15 or 20 million dollars to some kid that acuses you and you say he is lying just does NOT make sense!! I dont care!! Its like judge Judy always says..If it doesnt make sense..its not TRUE!!
Re: @v@ – Thats exactly why this guy irritates the hell out of me..endless reading how wonderful he was, on and on..its a fucking JOKE already. He was sneaky, shady, lied about using, lived a double life really. Could he dance and sing ok? Absolutely. But he was also a sad, out of touch , coniving drug addict and I wont treat him as some damn god on this planet. He WASNT. tsk.
Re: mazmar – I dont think his family was never there for him, at all! They all showed up for his trials, jermaine was always on tv trying endlessly to defend him, I think MJ was the one who didnt want to be around them becasue of his drug abuse. He didnt want them knowing OR condemming him for it either.
so,, they never knew he was on drugs and yet they desperately tried to give him an intervention … ?!??! good grief… his idiot family can't even get their lies straight. michael is dead.. it's time for the rest of them to go away too.
"He was trying to make himself attractive to himself."
Think about that sentence for a minute. It's really heartbreaking. He had such self esteem issues.
Re: kissmyassobama – bitch how about you get a life if your so fuckin irritated about him why the fuck hunt down articles about him to talk shit about a dead icon who the fuck are you some lame ass computer nerd who spends half there life on a fuckin computer damn get over it build a bridge im tired of peope talking about mike like you fuckin knew the dude for years dumb bitches beileve everything they hear hey i can walk on water you beileve that shit to get over it your opionion literally does not count the media will keep talking about him becuase people are interested in it
dont like it????
kill your self shit do the world a favor im tired of breathing you waste of a life loser fucks air do some community service and just go away…..FOREVER
first of all he never stated that michael got butt implants he just said that ……its normal.. for ppl in hollywood to get plastic surgeries…second of all ppl r missing out on the important issue …which is MICHAEL needed help..point blank ….the way the world treated him made it hard for him to live so give him break.
Re: MrsLambert – LOL! That sounds about right!
Re: justme09 – I agree, dude. You seriously need to chill on the hate. You suck.
Re: Pancake Nipples – Exactly! I personally believe these interviews are fake. Either that, or the Jacksons are in need of some cash. Cash that they rightly were not getting from Michael.
I am also tired of hearing about MJ but hey lets be honest here we all are reading the article… he obviously had plastic surgery like many other people do to improve his looks and then got some kind of addiction from all the medicines which happens as well…. what remains a mystery is the skin thing…. I thought he was proud to be black
Disturbed?!! that's an understatement!! And to think he had 3 children in his charge! Whats wrong with the entire family and the wacked out so-called mother of the children! The entire Jackson family lost sight of reality years ago! come on!
Re: PurpleDocs – I agree with you to an extent, and perhaps if he had the right kind of people around him, he would've dealt with it. However, this combined with the obvious inability to function as an adult (child-like mind), he wasn't able to deal with it and this led to many years of drug -taking, I like others find this very sad and just goes to show that being an "icon" and having money doesn't always bring you happiness.
Re: LittleKitty – You don't care that he wasn't convicted?? So what do you care about?? I know there are times when the law/courts don't get it right, but is it because of his odd behaviour that you still assume that he did something wrong?? I think that says more about your sick mind (and this goes out to all the haters on the "he was a child molester" train) then anything else…
Re: JuneGordon – If he was a liar about the child molesting, then why wasn't he convicted? Also, why did the kids who made this accusations now say they lied??
Re: justme09 – FUCK oFF asshole..if you want to read all sunshine and roses about whacko..go to a MJ website and live in your stupid fantasy land about your weirdo KING…You are reading what I write all the damn to time..so what are YOU bitching about?????? BITCHHHH.
Re: justme09 – mommy needs screwed again..she's is waiting for you..hurry on now…
Re: veronikasexiluv – Is Oj NOT GULITY too?? A jury said so. Juries make mistakes all the time. How many people have gone to prison because of juries?..the invention of DNA proved them innocent. Jackson never gave that 1st case a chance to prove him guilty..he just payed his fine and moved on basically.
They are getting paid for all thier interviews. If they had got child protection services involved on behalf of the kids they might have saved him.
Re: mypoopisstinky – that was a cheap shot & poor taste…obviously not an individual thinker are you…?
Re: soyaknow – an intelligent person at last…phew…i agree with u
IT'S TOO LATE !
RIP MJ !!!!!!!!!!!!
This is sad!
Re: imsoregistered – Well, I didn't compare those two things, first of all. I said I am in pain 24/7, which STARTED when I broke my tailbone. I have nerve damage on my right side from a car accident, I have fibromyalgia, I've had back surgeries, I have constant pain in my lower back and hips because of hereditary arthritis, the sciatica I had to have 2 surgeries to somewhat minimize is sometimes excrutiating to the point where I would love to cry (and that is nerve pain also, btw)…I didn't think I needed to detail my medical history for you. My point was and is that whatever traumatic experience you've had happen to you, deal with the pain at that time and then move on. If he had that much pain on his scalp from the burn, which I agree, was horrific to watch and I imagine it hurt like hell, but if he was so incapacitated by pain from that that he needed to be fucking anesthetized all the time, he wouldn't have been able to function and accomplish all the things he did since 1984. An addict is a different story. I believe that his pain at the time of the accident was probably awful. But at some point he needed to get over it and get off the drugs.
Re: imsoregistered – You can't live your life trying to avoid pain. There's a different between alleviating pain and putting yourself into a coma every night. Would I like to be pain free? Hell yeah. But I know that my choices are that I can either live my life soberly but with a certain amount of constant pain or I can take the narcotics any doctor would readily prescribe for the amount of pain I'm in and numb myself to everything for the rest of my life. The issue of MJ's pain is that his supposed level of pain, relative to what he could physically do, ie - dance his ass off, does not make any sense at all. I can barely even stand up for 10 minutes because of my pain, let alone dance, yet I don't drug myself into a comatose stupor to get through it. I hope that makes sense. He was a drug addict, enabled by assholes and I'm very sad he's gone because I liked him, but I am positive his "pain" was exaggerated to a…well…fatal extent.
Re: SaoirseM – Yeah, my sister was a heroin addict for many years. And having to watch that is why I choose not to take the narcotic way out. I don't need that in addition to everything else. Just the possibility that it could become a problem (how do I know it's not something in my genetic makeup?) keeps me from giving in. Those people who enabled MJ should be prosecuted and jailed for sure. But we do also need to put some of the responsibility on him. He had opportunities for interventions and his family did try to get through to him, but he chose to surround himself with yes men. I understand that's part of addiction. But even my sister finally broke down, realized what her life had become, and my mom and I took her to rehab. It took her a couple of years, but she has been clean and sober for about 7 years now! The problem with MJ is that he just didn't want to face any kind of pain, and the refusal to accept the possibility of pain from withdrawal is what really killed him. I'll miss his music. And thank you for your comments.
