Family Guy Makes Emmy History!

Major congratulations are in order to the team over at the hit animated show Family Guy. The show has earned itself a big Emmy nomination.
Outstanding Comedy series!
In all of Emmy history, only one other animated series has ever been nominated in this category and that was The Flintstones back in 1961.
(Fun Fact- The Flintstones is a production of Hanna-Barbera, which is where Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane got his start. There, now you're smarter.)
The show is up against some heavy, heavy competition - such as Entourage, Flight of the Conchords, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, 30 Rock and Weeds. The odds aren't in their favor, but for once the phrase "an honor just to be nominated" is very, very true!
So congrats Team Griffin and may we just say…Giggity.

who is still watching this show ? It fell off long time ago and its a parody of itself. The other shows shit on it especially entourage, flight of the conchords, 30 rock and the office…oh damn thats everyone else in the category. Dude needs to go broke and not get a deal for 5 years so that he can write original stuff like he did in season 1 and 2.

That's sad. Family Guy is not even really funny, it just has shock value - they say stuff they shouldn't. Sometimes it's enjoyable but I find it harder and harder to watch as they get more desperate to stun people with "oh no they didn'ts."
Congrats!! This is a great considering that aholes cancelled the show at one point and the fans brought it back.
That show is a hell of a lot more intelligent than shows like 2 and a half men, so congrats to Stewie and the Gang.

My brother has sex with this show every night. I prefer South Park though, even more randomness. But Family Guy is pretty clever, just a little "WTF was the point of that?" at times.
I like Family Guy as much as the next guy (it's stupid and obnoxious and the jokes are esoteric rather than actually pertaining to the plot) but this is the biggest middle finger to every single decent animated show ever.

I like family Guy, but why wasn't The Simpsons nominated when it was in its prime. It was better than almost all the shows on at that time, except maybe Seinfeld or Frasier.
