Madonna's Stage Company Speaks

wenn2492073__opt12.jpg

E S Group, the company hired to build Madonna's stage for the now cancelled concert in Marseille, where two workers died and eight others injured, have released a statement regarding the unfortunate accident.

The company is also responsible for a collapsed stage at Dodger's Stadium, Los Angeles, this past November for Madonna's show there.

Their rep said:

"We were incredibly saddened by the tragic accident during the construction of a stage at the Velodrome at Marseille. Our thoughts at this current time go out to the families and loved ones of the two men who died and to those who have been injured.

Two of our Directors have flown out to Marseille to visit the injured and to get a better understanding of what caused the accident. At present, it would not be appropriate to speculate on potential causes of the accident, but we are working closely with the French authorities to investigate what caused this incident. This is normal practice for such an incident and we will provide a further update as soon as it is possible.

There is absolutely no technical or other connection between the incident at the Dodgers Stadium in November 2008 and the tragic accident yesterday (July 16 2009) at the Velodrome in Marseille."

We hope they resolve the issue so it never happens again!

This is so sad, but seriously, Madge can't B blamed for this… :(

  2. 2

How is this old bag performing if her stage was destroyed? Does she have a back-up stage or something? This twat thinks of everything if it means making her millions.

  3. 3

Free publicity for her floundering "Stale & Sour" tour.

  4. 4

Ughh. This is so fucked up.

  5. 5

The supports had been weakend because they had held Madonna's make-up and photoshopping equipment earlier in the day.

  6. 6

How could they possibly know there isn't any connection between the 2 accidents when they haven't even investigated the situation yet. Hello lawsuit!

  7. 7

This old, dried-up, skeletal and irrelevant has-been should be burned at the stake!

  8. 8

The company doesn't want to speculate, however they can conclude it has NOTHING to do with the event in L.A….double talk. The quickest way to save money is to cut corners and neglect the safety of workers. Hope a stage doesn't fall on Madonna.

Re: jesyrene – has been? She is on the most successful tours in history. Her last album sold 4 million copies. Her last single 4 minutes was the second most successful song of 2008. Really?

  13. 13

    Re: tick_tock_tick_tock – Yes — HAS-BEEN.

"She is on the most successful tours in history." - How? Her fellow has-been Wayne Newton sells better.

"Her last album sold 4 million copies." - Where? Oh yes, in the Third World!

"Her last single 4 minutes was the second most successful song of 2008" - In the imaginary THIRD World charts, which is NEVER RIAA certified.

"Really?" - Hell yeah, and YOU know it! Has-been!

  14. 14

This news is really sad, Prettyjean I agree with you, Madonna can't be blamed. There are so many bitter retards on here looking to have a swipe at Madonna. They're jealous of her success - but this is not the time..

    Re: jesyrene

Are you serious? You can't be. That will mean you are really really stupid. Let me give you some FACTS. I didn't mean to humiliate you, but you were the one who decided to give your opinion on Madonna without analyzing numbers and facts. You did it yourself. Here I go:

    1) The Sticky and Sweet Tour was sold out in the USA AND in the rest of the world. You come and say she is popular in the third World? Is the USA third world? Stupid! This tour became THE BEST SELLING TOUR EVER MADE BY A SOLO ARTIST - MALE AND FEMALE.
Has been? I don't think so. Madonna accomplished this title by touring in the USA.

    Re: jesyrene

    2) RIAA stands for Recording Industry Association of America. And according to them, HARD CANDY'S sold more than a million copies in the US.
Other countries have their official associations to monitor and control their sales too. As important as RIAA. Officially, HARD CANDY's sold more than 4 million copies around the world. Check your facts, honey.

Are you gonna say that 4 million copies is for a has been? Or even A million copy only in the USA - has been? Are you sure?

    Re: jesyrene
    3) 4 Minutes went to #2 in the Billboard Charts. It was Madonna's second biggest hit in the US, after Vogue.
Although it didn't make it to #1, it sold more than Mariah Carey's Touch My Body (which was #1 at that time). So, as you can see, being #1 on the Billboard charts doesn't mean you are more popular or that you sell more.

  22. 22

    Re: PerezChupa
And best-selling doesn't really mean shit either. Bud Light is the best selling beer, but any beer connoisseur can tell you there's much better quality beers out there. And you all need to give credit to where credit is due. "4 Minutes" owes its success to Justin Timberlake and Timbaland..their sound was all over that record..more so than Madonna's.

  23. 23

    Re: PerezChupa
You also need to check your facts. HARD CANDY has yet to be certified platinum in the US, which is a million albums SHIPPED, not SOLD. It hasn't even sold a million yet in the US.

  24. 24

This was such a tragedy i hope everyone involved including Madonna is doing well.

  25. 25

she mime she dont sing she move her lip throughout show

  26. 26

Re: Chavke – #23. Yes, some people (adulators) talk out of their asses! Thanks for the 'real' facts.

  27. 27

Re: jesyrene – #16. Yes, I have noticed that! The worst is Madgerulla, who goes by different names, and from Portugal. Vulgar Vag is nothing but a famous whore who got ahead by using others and selling sex…nothing more, nothing less.

  28. 28

Re: Madonna_#1fan_4ever! – #24 Don't you think your goddess' costumes are outdated? I do!!! And, 'it's' costume's crotch area probably is all pasty…I am sure they are from last year…YUCK!!! 'It' covers her hands because they reveal her age. The rest of the shit you see with this famous whore is bogus, too!

  29. 29

what's up with her arm..man you can have guns and still have flabby arms. That hopeful.
