Legendary newsman Walter Cronkite passed away on Friday.

He was 92 years old.

Late last month, Cronkite's family released a statement revealing that he had suffered for years from cerebrovascular disease and was not expected to recuperate.

We hope his last days were peaceful and pain-free.

Our condolences to all of Walter's loved ones.

  5. 5

Wow, such big names passing lately. A lot of young people probably don't know just how huge this man is in the broadcast industry. It doesn't get any bigger than Cronkite when it comes to television journalism and news. Hope he is at peace and I'll keep his family in my prayers. Thank you, Mr. Cronkite, for guiding us through 25 years of history.

    Rest In Peace Walter Cronkite…
    you were a newsman's newsman.
    .
    When Walter called anyone,
    they always took his call.
    .

    Walter interviewed Kings and Presidents
but also always had time for the people
    not so famous.
    .

Walter came into our homes each evening
at 6:30 PM and told us the news -
    not the White House propaganda.
    .

There will never be another Walter Cronkite.
    .

    Walter Cronkite,
    reporting live,
    July 17th,
    from Heaven.

    Rest In Peace Walter.

  40. 40

Rest in Peace Mr. Cronkite, your style of news broadcast long gone, now taken over by ignorant slugs like Perez, who only care about their own goals and monetary gains. Do not think Perez that people have forgotten your horrible treatment of MJ, Lindsay, and top Hollywood talent and writers, many of whom will be only too happy to kick you in the ass on your way down.

At least he lived a long life. 92! wow. Prayer to his family.

  72. 72

End of an era. The so-called conservatives will never respect anyone who tells the truth again. They have a goon squad to tell them how to think, not to encourage them to seek the truth or use their power of reason. Cable "news" killed both journalism and genuine debate in politics.

  73. 73

Re: LJ77 – "Dumb ass people, he was a communist. If you dont believe it, research it a little."

You are mentally ill. Do some research on THAT, bitch!
