Sources close to The O.C. wacktress are claiming Barton was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold because they were afraid she would kill herself.
According to reports Mischa was apparently in the middle of a three-day coke binge when pals called the cops because they believed the friend might take her own life if they didn't intervene!
"She is a mess. She is a suicidal, uninsurable mess," says one of Mushy's friends to reporters.
What a friend!
Barton missed the NYC premiere of her new film, Homecoming last week due to the 5150 hold, and her friends know this is bad, bad news for Mischa's career.
Says one friend: "She is a tortured and troubled person. You can survive a bad review, but when you don't show up for the premiere of your new film, it's not a good sign of where your career is heading."
Um, seriously!
Mischa is quickly blowing through all of her $$$$, and friends believe that Mush Mush is "on a downward spiral," which was crystal clear last week at a hotel in El Lay.
According to reports, Mushy was "stumbling around poolside" and took her top off, showing off her ta-ta's to hotel guests!
Barton is still under an involuntary psychiatric hold at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's psych ward in Los Angeles.

Had i known that, I would have stopped reading u then and there. Unfortunately ur a hypocrite;u removed that post after he died which is why I never saw it. I hate to say it, but that's Karma. Not only she left a hit show which suffered greatly after she left, for not being able to play a character similar to what she is today, she can't get work and Ben, Adam, and Rachel are working plenty. KARMA. It's hard to feel bad, but I hope she gets it together. She should leave Hollywood.
I have never seen anything with Mischa Barton, I actually don't even know what she is famous for. I only know her name because she constantly appears on this blog and I see Perez always bashing her. So I'm not Mischa's fan, but I do know that when someone is down you don't kick them.
I do know when someone is desperate and in pain you don't make fun of them. We're humans, not animals. we're supposed to have souls.
I also know that when a person is taken by police to a psych ward and held there involuntarily, it means someone is in a huge trouble, someone is suicidal and is on the verge of an abyss. It's someone who's standing on that line between life and death, and ready to cross that line. And Perez is making it very easy for Mischa to make that decision which way to go. He is kicking her like a whimpering bruised dog.
When I read what he's written about a young girl who is suicidal, it made me nauseous!

I earn my living working with teenage girls, trying to help them in regard of bullying. Bullying DOES kill kids and I try my best to put a stop to it in our community. Now, the way you have attacked and still attack so many people on your blog, Perez, is textbook bullying. No wonder Mischa is suicidal! Pretty much anybody would be, considering the shit you've been dumping on her for years. Hide behind your friggin' free speech all you want, you are abusing her over and over again, for the world to read. And anyone who agrees to stand by, watch in silence and, worst, who plays into your little insane game, is as guilty as you are. Don't the US have laws preventing that kind of abuse from taking place? Suicide is not a joke. If you, Perez, think it is maybe you should visit a morgue and see what some of the victims do to themselves to get away from everything that is bringing them down. I have personally been through what Mischa is going through right now and it isn't pretty.
