R-Patz Is One Cheap Bitch!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooAnglophiliaRobert Pattinson

Either our darling Robert Pattinson is terrible at mathematics or he's cheap as all hell!

R-Patz and some pals grabbed a bite to eat at Il Cantinori in Greenwich Village last Tuesday and reportedly only left a $50 tip on their $350 bill!!!

Not even 15%!!

Even though the waiter described Pattinson as "nice and friendly," Robert and his friends closed the restaurant down by being the last diners in the Italian eatery after boozing on a $60 bottle of wine and numerous bottles of Italian beer with their food.

Regardless, learn some manners, R-Patz!

They don't tip in the UK, but they do in America!

    who gives a fuck

  2. elo says – reply to this

The tip is based on the food service, not the bar tab, ignorance is bliss. They over tipped.

  3. 3

like you said, its cause he's english
we don't really tip here =/
    its a waste of money

  4. 4

Wow! He forgot $2.50 and you're calling him cheap?

  5. 5

    14.3% Big whop.

  6. 6

    OK! magazine is the source???

  7. 7

At least it wasn't a dine and dash.

  8. 8

    fuck that….15% my ass!!

  9. 9

Uh..they do tip in the UK.

Or maybe I'm the only one..

  10. 10

We don't tip here, how would he know what you presumptuous Americans want? Waste of money!

  11. 11

wow, he could at least leave a bigger tip, in general it sounds like a big tip, but when you do the math it sounds really sad! Oh well…he is still really hot! Gotta love him! not in the creppy way either!

  12. 12

no one even asks if the waiter was worth a good tip. if they screw stuff up or ignore my table for too long then hell yes! their getting a bad tip.

  13. 13

What was the actual cost of the bill BEFORE TAXES? Is tipping mandatory now? Perez, from time to time you are somewhat entertaining but I really don't think you're the one to be preaching manners, here. LMFAO!

  14. 14

Your not required to tip on the price of a bottle of wine so it was over 15%. He should have dropped a $100 for a tip for good publicty though!

  15. 15

A servers tip is based on the ENTIRE tab, not just food. And even if people don't tip in the UK, in America we do. As servers and bartenders, what we earn in tips is our income.

  16. 16

this is just the most ridiculous headline.. this ISN'T news!!

    btw he tipped just fine

  17. 17

    50 bucks is alot

  18. 18

umm..big deal? Its not bad at all..at least he tipped

  19. 19

In the UK you only tip for outstanding service, and he had just about 15% so stfu Perez.

  20. 20

well if they dont they dont so what i dont have to top if i do good and if not so what, besides he forgot what 2.50 do u want him to be an human calculator or something, besides is all old news god pay atention dude

  21. 21

wow, he didn't pay the 2.50$ to make it 15% ..
    i wouldn't call that cheap.
    learn your math.

  22. 22

Wow, you really should think about a story before you post it. First of all, you tip based on the bill before taxes - not after, you don't tip on the price of the bottle of wine, AND you tip based on the level of service you received. It seems to me that he OVERTIPPED if anything! Even without all that taken into consideration, 15% of $350 (which I'm sure is rounded UP btw) is $52.50. Wow, that's a huge difference…

  23. 23

Oh my god, he was $2.50 SHORT. Please.

  24. Wil says – reply to this

They actually over-tipped. You don't include drinks in the tip, just the food. That was a pretty dumb post, Perez.

  25. 25

It's because of assholes like him that better restaurants are starting to add the gratuity to the bill.

For myself, I still like the tip to represent the quality of service I feel I received. If he left a $10 tip, I'd say he must have been very disappointed with the service, but $50? That's just being cheap!

  26. 26

regardless i bet the waiter was happy

  27. Jim J says – reply to this

    you are such a bitch

  28. 28

Maybe he didn't pay. Maybe his friends took him out and they are the cheap bitches. hmmm

  29. 29

Dude! I think your math is terrible… $2.50 come on… I totally agree with elo, tip is based on service.

  30. 30

were his friends english or are you just assuming this perez.
and i do tip quite generously and shock horror im english!!

  31. 31

it doesn't really matter does it?
its based on service and anyone would be happy wityh 50 dollars as a tip.
its not like he gave 10 dollars.

  32. elo says – reply to this

Re: abbe_normyl – This is just not true, the tax and bar tab are not part of the food service and not included in calculating the tip. Tipping the bar tender and drink server are based on performance. Performance is dead art in America, service is a fossil in America and trying to get all the money you can whiling doing the least amount of work is alive and well here.

  33. 33

that is a decent tip, maybe not for a "celebrity" but for a regular person enjoying a large meal, $50 is fair. and you don't even know if he had bad service, bad food or whatever. jeez.

  34. 34

    at least he tipped!
    its a pretty big tip.
any person would be happy with 50 dollars

  35. 35

Perez, that is hardly stingy, considering it is minimally shy of 15%, and you admitted that a significant amount was on alcohol. Tipping is supposed to be based on food, not expensive alcohol. Besides, maybe the service wasn't good?! Not nice to call him stingy over this …

  36. 36

That tip really isn't that bad … the tip should be calculated of the pre-tax check total, minus bottles of wine, so $50 on $350 is perfectly acceptable for the average diner. However … most of the celebrities I have waited on have tipped much better than that.

  37. 37

hey hey. maybe the server was being a douchebag and didn't deserve the 15%.

  38. 38

uhhh we DO tip in the uk..just not very well OK???

  39. 39

why do celebrities have to tip more?

  40. 40

    this isnt news.
and it isnt a requirement to tip a waiter. if you aren't pleased with the service or if something was wrong, you don't have to tip at all. and $50 is quite a lot of money. i'd be happy if i was their water.

maybe you should check YOUR math perez.

  41. 41

For 50 Bucks the waiter shoulda been handin out BJ's ! I don't care how much the tab is, it isn't rocket science bring someone a glass of damn water!

  42. 42

Omg do the math Perez - 15% would be $52.50. With such huge sums, I'm sure its not a biggie to round the number to $50. ESPECIALLY if 60$ was a bottle of wine. There really is no effort involving giving wine to people and they're always overpriced at restaurants anyways.

  43. 43

haha, what do you expect from us English! :D

  44. 44

so wat if hes rich? its stil $50

its enuf ! were in an economic crisis here ppl !!!

  45. 45

who cares…he was short what…5 bucks at the most??? he probably isnt use to tipping like you said yourself they dont tip where hes from. 50 sounds like a good tip to me…maybe the waiter wasnt friendly?

  46. 46

looks like a young George Michael after getting the shit kicked out of him in a men's rest room

  47. 47

What about the other people at the table? Did they eat and drink, too? The boy isn't responsible for everything everyone at his table does, just because he's famous, for shit's sake!

  48. 48

  49. 49

    Shit, I wouldn't bitch about a 50$ tip.

  50. 50

This is news is a few days old. Your gossip has rally sucked lately. Another site had it a few days ago. I heard R-Patz manager paid. Anyways this guy seems cheap and dirty. P.S. Stop trying to be like Michael K fatso.

  51. crt45 says – reply to this

tipping isn't often done in england

  52. 52

my god that is not cheap. $50 is a little over 14%. 15% would be $52.50. r u KIDDING me? he is not cheap. that's a standard tip. i'm outraged by the people who suggest a 18% tip for restaurants that are cheap and overrated

  53. 53

Fatty please, $50 is more than enough for this greedy beeyotch to bring some food to the table. Waiting tables is not exactly a highly skilled job.

  54. 54

Tipping $50!! Fuck that, the most I would give is £1. Who cares ??

  55. 55

yes we do tip in the uk you ignorant fuck, the standard tip in the uk is 10%, he is british therefore he is in the mindset that this is the acceptable tip, if it is different in america its not really his problem

  56. 56

Re: *Crystal* – A waste of money?! Tell that to your next server!!!!

  57. 57

Us english arent as over-enthusiastic as americans. Thats not me dissing americans, its just how we are. And yeah, we base the tip on service, not overall tab

  58. lexyS says – reply to this

obviously those of u who dnt think this is a big deal are obviously pieces of trash. u prbly dnt understand how to tip. let me explain, 10% is a shitty tip. 15% is not considered a good tip. if u purchased something for 350 dollars. u get a 10% discount. sure its nice to have that in ur pocket but its rele not that much. anything less than 20% is a shitty, ghetto, rediculous tip. Its more commonly referred to as change.

  59. 59

Re: siaxter – You do realize servers in the US makes $3 or less an hour, right? And that we are in a FAILING economy? Waiters and waitresses here make their living through tips, it's just the way it is. Geez, and Europeans talk about "ugly Americans." If you want us to learn about and respect your customs when visiting YOUR country, pay us the same courtesy.

  60. 60

Tipping varies by country, Perez. I'm in the US and I find it an annoying waste of money. They're already getting PAID to do their job.

  61. 61

Uhm, seems like Perez doesn't know how to tip either. You don't tip of liquor. I can't stand this guy but he DOES know how to tip.

  62. 62

It wasn't that much left needed. That's a pretty big tip to me. He wasn't off much. The dude should just be happy that Rob tipped him at all. And for your information, you don't have to tip the waiter if you don't want to. I say only tip based on the service!!! Maybe the service wasn't all that hot to deserve the rest. He He He Ha!!!

  63. 63

I admit it's not as common to tip in the UK as it is in the US but I have tipped now and again….

  64. 64

we do tip in england 10%, and it is also waiters/resses and bartenders main source of income, their wages are usually really small. its not compulsary to leave a tip anyway it should be down to personal opinion! he was with his friends as well so it dosent mean to say they were all rich therfore dont get so ignorant to call him stinchy. if i got a $50 tip i wouldnt exactly complain…

  65. 65

    tipping is a stupid practice

  66. 66

Tipping is supposed to reflect service. Therefore, for example, if my kids and I go out for Chinese and they want to use chopsticks and wreak havoc on the table I leave 20-25% if the service is quick, patient and still friendly. However, figuring the price of wine into a tip is stupid, because it's the same amount of work for a $15 bottle as it is for a $100 bottle. Somehow the service personnel of America have managed to convince us that we're bad people if we leave less than 20%, when it used to be 10% unless there was some special circumstance. I'd say they should smile for their $50 and hope he comes back!

  67. 67

  68. 68

Who cares? The waiter probably had dollar signs in his eyes when he saw him come in and thought he would hit the jackpot!

  69. 69

Please!!! give me a fucking break this is old news and just because hes a celebrity doesnt mean he has to tip HUGE amounts. The waitress shouldnt be bragging this info plain rude

  70. 70

Perez, are you stealing your stories from E online…Awful truth……I read this story a few days ago and it was pointed out there that R-Pattz didn't buy the meal, his manager paid. Actually it is a pretty good tip.

  71. 71

Re: elo – I hate to break it to you, but where I live and work, I bust my butt to give outstanding service so that I do get a good tip. People tip me based on the tab, which includes all of the FOOD and DRINKS they ordered from ME. When you are paid 4.25 an hour, the tips are VERY important.

  72. 72

  73. 73

    maricruzvirgo is right!!!

  74. 74

Lol? 50 dollars is better then nothing, and just ’cause he has money doesn't mean he always has to leave a fat tip.

  75. 75

That's pretty much 15%. Here's a tip: Get a real job not serving people.

  76. 76

WTF. cms613 we do have a failing economy too, dont sterotype all english or european people to call all americans "ugly americans". our waitresses get paid shit all too therfore that it why we have tipss too! you dont think we get dissed by other european countries for being the most obses country in europe, and the most teenage preggies and the most binge drinkers! not everything is obsessed around america and has to revolve around america. our 10% tip is just what we do in england it shouldnt have to be compared to other countries, however much a tip is in england it is considered a nice gesture so dont be so snobby!

  77. 77

To all those people saying you dont tip with drinks included, if you go to a restaurant, get an appetizer, and sit there drinking wine and beer, requiring the waiter to serve you for a decent amount of time, you would only tip for the food?
And another thing, Starflower11, elo and others, as previously stated, waiters make about $3.00 an hour. tips are necessary.
Also, I lived in Europe, and the service is honestly the same there as it is in the US.

  78. 78

    Only peasants get tips.

  79. 79

Sorry Rob this is America you got to give it up!!!

  80. 80

Re: lexyS – this is not true in all countries. in china, it is RUDE to tip. people chase after you and toss the money in your face. in canada, 15% is standard. only 10% is expected for working students. furthermore, tip should reflect service, not what is expected. you just sound like you worry about how people judge you so you tip more to give people the impression that you got something.

  81. 81

Perez..he looks like you after your beating!!

  82. 82

Oh come on Perez, its really close to 15%! He's off my .07% That's not much of a difference- if I was the waiter, I would have been really happy with $50 bucks! YOUR A JERK! and why do you post such meaningless stuff. Who cares!

  83. 83

what the fuck is wrong with his knuckles?

  84. 84

  85. 85

    Re: GG1000 – AGREED!

  86. mana says – reply to this

What the hell do you tip!?
One of dumbest posts you've made.

  87. 87

    i would still fuck him

  88. 88

Bullshit they over-tipped, you've obviously never worked in a restaurant before.. Even tho they spent alot on booze, a server STILL has to tip out the bar for that alcohol, which is how the system works.. So if someone decides not to tip on their booze, the server is still paying the bar ~10% of the bar sales..

And lastly, the fact that they closed the place out, being the last table - they should leave EVEN MORE out of courtesy, since they were now most likely causing the server to be there for additional time, waiting for them..

The way it works tho being a server, is it's always these @$*&# who take their sweet ass time keeping you waiting who are CHEAP - and the really nice cool people who kno how to TIP!

  89. 89

Re: The Mancunian Candidate – i totally agree with you! i despise the americans who believe that their way is the best way. i'm not saying all americans think this way, but there are some who are just ignorant.

  90. 90

Wow he forget to pay $2.50. After paying $350 plus tip, I'm pretty sure the missing $2.50 isn't THAT big of a deal.

  91. 91

    Beats my 5 dollar tips.

  92. 92

Re: McBain – Get a real job? That is just ignorant. Serving and bartending is just as real a job as any other. Not everyone has has had everything handed to them on a silver platter. I waitress and bartend to pay for school. It is the best job for a student to have, and it is a REAL job.

  93. 93

after working years as a waitress, I would sooner a smaller tip and be treated with some kindness and respect. 50.00 is a good tip. Also, maybe the server did not provide good service….it happens! I would never make a public comment on a customer ( I would have been fired) and I'm sure this is all a BS story.

  94. 94

$50 seems like a pretty good fucking tip to me. Better be glad he thought enough to leave anything.

  95. 95

I don't tip illegals who deliver my pizza.

  96. opkl says – reply to this

    tipping isn't a requirement
christ, if you servers complain you are living solely off tips… get a different job for god sakes

  97. 97

    Re: Dialred
    I totally agree.
Tipping is just such an unnecessary waste of money.

  98. 98

Well that's it precisely isn't it… they don't tip in the UK, so how can you hate on someone who is from there?? It's hard to say "well they should just know" but if you think that, then you clearly are ignorant to different cultures. If he was with american friends, THEY should've been the ones to pony up!!

  99. 99

Cheap?? I am from Ireland, I got a $6 taxi from universal to my hotel at 6pm or so. The driver never said "hi" "hello" "where you from" etc etc. I gave him $20…….. he asked "do you want some change????" WTF??? Do you think you deserved the changed?????

  100. 100

I have never tipped in my life and I live in england, waitress' and waiters get paid enough in my opinion, I don't get tipped for taking care of other peoples bratty children all day and that is a demanding job.
My cousin gets paid £6 an hour as a waitress and she works 30 hrs a week meaning she earns £180 x 4= £720 a month = $1179

Its a ressecion ppl, its affecting everybody in every line of work.
