Our family dog, Coquito, had been really really sick lately and we had to take him to the animal hospital again on Sunday night and finally put him to sleep.

Losing a pet that has been a part of your heart for 13 years really is like a relative dying.

Our heart aches.

We are thankful for the time we had with our little coconut.

We are thankful that Teddy, mom and sis are all still with us and in good health.

So sad.

      I find it so sad that animals, who love unconditionally and let you know if they like you or not because they dont know how to lie, are given just a small window of time in our lives. Yet the world if full of people who are not worth the space or oxygen they take up seem to live for friggin ever.

      I know how it feels. When my beloved PeeWee (a chihuahua/poodle) died, it was a horrible blow. I felt like a brother died. That little, tempermental diva was with us for 11 years before he suffered a stroke. We were hysterical with grief. I'm sorry for your loss.

      Please accept my condolences, Perez. I have loved and lost many pets that were more than pets, they were family. It is never easy to lose a loved one. It takes a special person to be a pet owner because deep down inside you have to remind yourself that they don't live as long as we do and we must love them while they are here with us. You and your family will be reunited with Coconut on the rainbow bridge. :]

      we love you Perez! sorry for your loss. we know how hard it is to make that decision. even if it is the best thing for the animal, it still sucks no matter what. you did the right thing because now he is no longer suffering and he was able to just fall asleep. have him cremated because you'll feel better to have his ashes with you. trust us!       I'm so sorry, Perez…one of the two cats my parents and I adopted years and years and years ago was put down recently, as well…not the first time, and, never to be the last. But it is one of the most humane things someone can do when they know the time as come. RIP, little ones. You served your purpose by making people as happy as you made them…thank you… :)

      I'm very sorry. I hate it when a pet dies. My daughters hamster died a few months ago and that was harder then I thougth. We were tore up about it. I try not to think about my dog dying. He is getting older though.

      So sorry to hear about Coquito! I am torn up also whenever one of my pets dies. Right now my Great Dane is up in years, they don't live too long, and she rests most of the time. That's a big change from when she was so lively with my other dog. It's tearing me up already knowing that she is in her decline. :(

      My doggie Leda passed away 2 years ago - she was 15 and was a part of my life.
      I grew up with her I was always called THAT GIRL WITH THIS FUZZY DOG…

      Now I`m a mother .. and have another 'pet':) It helped - maybe you should have some little ones.. to get mind occupied..???

      I am so sorry perez, and family. i know how indescribably painful it can be to lose one you love. whether it is a family pet or a relative, it all hurts, because pets really do become a part of your life! he is a beautiful dog, and i hope you are finding comfort in the time you had with your friend :)
