Leonardo DiCaprio's production company, Appian Way, is joining with Warner Bros. to make a film based on the classic TV series The Twilight Zone.
Rand Ravich, the creative mind behind the TV series Life and the film Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, has been hired to write the flick.
Sounds like it could be good, if they could get Leo to not star in it!

Yes indeed. I think audiences are ready to be scared again, but in a new and less gory way. Back in the day, with the name Twilight Zone, you knew you were getting only the best writers and talent. The first movie doesn't deserve mentioning because it was cursed from the minute those 2 kids and Vic Morrow were killed by that helicopter. The franchise deserves a do-over.
Since times are tough, I think people would enjoy the type of tasteful escapism that TZ used to stand for. I'd go!

Rand Ravich is a fucking amazing writer! It's a shame that is last series, Life (with hotties Damian Lewis and Sarah Shahi), was cancelled by NBC. Boooo NBC. Can't wait to see what he does with this project.

I don't know if the franchise itself would drive a story,and it probably shouldn't be pitched that way. If it's a decent script,and if his latest offering (this Alcatraz/horror thing he's got going next) doesn't tank, then I would initially let it roll on its own merits. Any TwiZone marketing could be done strategically as a bump.
There was already a Twilight Zone movie in the 80's! i think it's a good idea as long as they don't remake old twilight zone episodes and put them in one movie like the old Twilight Zone movie.

DiCaprio looks like a twelve year old with facial hair here. He'll look really good between 45 and 70 ish as his face matures. Hell yes on the Twilight Zone. There are enough current theories floating around that it should be stuffed with goodies.
