David Beckham Gets Ugly Fighting Fans After Playing For Both Teams

David Beckham did not receive the warmest of welcomes Sunday night as he played on the LA Galaxy home turf. Angry fans booed the English captain because of his five-month leave to play with AC Milan, ironically the team they were playing against.
Becks is still a member of the Galaxy, but he's buying himself out of his contract and leaving us Angelenos to go play full-time in Milan.
Things went from bad to worse when Beckham approached a fan in the stands during half time. Some fans say they saw David attempt to extend a hand of peace to the fan, while others accuse him of not being "professional" and antagonising the fan further. In response, the man leapt from his seat onto the pitch and attempted to run towards Beckham. Security was forced to intervene, escorting Beckham back to his team while removing the fan from the area.
Besides the rowdy fan, dozens of signs hating on Beckham were apparent throughout the stadium. Clearly, he has some work to do to regain the love of Galaxy fans.
After the game was over (Beckham had assisted on both of the team's scores), he assured the press that he only intended to make nice with the fan and that he understood their resentment towards him.
"It's to be expected," he said. Sometimes it goes beyond it. I tried to shake one of the guy's hands but he didn't want any of it. That's the way it is."
We're giving David the benefit of the doubt and believe his story that he was just trying to make peace. He usually is superly mild-mannered and we can't really see him losing his cool with just one random person.

I don't understand why the Galaxy fans take this so personally. It is a fact that football is more appreciated and in a larger scale in Europe than football in the United States. He is a professional and a legendary player. Why should he be satisfied playing football in a country whose teams just don't compare to the teams in Europe? In any sport - hell, in any job - you want to play with the best you can. Galaxy does not offer the best, hence, he wants to leave. I totally understand that.

Like half the people in that crowd wouldn't go to a better club if they got the chance. Yes he's sexy, yes he's a talented footballer but he sold out by moving to Galaxy. He was drawn by the big $$$'s and the fact that his wife wanted to make a name for herself in LA. If he wanted to genuinely further his career post Man U then he should have opted for AC Milan first time round rather than Galaxy, especially if he wanted to continue being a feature in the England team. No disrespect to Galaxy but they're not quite up there with AC Milan, Man U etc. He just wanted to rake in extra money and improve the profile of brand 'Beckham'. If I were a Galaxy fan then I would also be pissed off that management paid millions and millions of $$$'s for him and yet he barely played any games and insisted on playing for another team whilst still contracted to be an integral member of the Galaxy team. Once hated by fans for being sent off he scored a great goal and became GoldenBalls.
So when you LA Galaxy fans speed up his decision to leave because you don't want him there, just remember those 2 assists against AC Milan because that was class, pure class.
David, go back to Europe, England if you can but do it with your head held high and help England win the trophy.

Third rate model and overrated sell-out, Becks has had nothing to do with football for a long time. He's just a marketing exercise. Rightly, football fans meet this with a combination of disdain, despair and even pity. He had talent but has failed to even reach half of its potential as his interest has always been in fame and not success. We've seen time and time again that he can't deal with his little bubble of self-admiration and wonder is burst without resorting to the aggression and foul-mouthed standards that you'd except of such an typically unintelligent chav.

This reminds me of what happened to Wayne Gretzky when the Oilers took the cash instead, while he was still hot enough and sent him to L.A. Kings. He was the best hockey player in the world, but the number crunchers had to get their money's worth before he started to play like everybody else. David Beckham is the same. Legendary without a doubt, but owned. It's not his fault, and I don't blame him for wanting to play elsewhere at a better level of play. He's the best, and will be remembered as such even when he retires. The L.A. fans don't understand soccer or soccer players hearts. They only understand being owned. Legend. Period.
