David Beckham Gets Ugly Fighting Fans After Playing For Both Teams
David Beckham did not receive the warmest of welcomes Sunday night as he played on the LA Galaxy home turf. Angry fans booed the English captain because of his five-month leave to play with AC Milan, ironically the team they were playing against.
Becks is still a member of the Galaxy, but he's buying himself out of his contract and leaving us Angelenos to go play full-time in Milan.
Things went from bad to worse when Beckham approached a fan in the stands during half time. Some fans say they saw David attempt to extend a hand of peace to the fan, while others accuse him of not being "professional" and antagonising the fan further. In response, the man leapt from his seat onto the pitch and attempted to run towards Beckham. Security was forced to intervene, escorting Beckham back to his team while removing the fan from the area.
Besides the rowdy fan, dozens of signs hating on Beckham were apparent throughout the stadium. Clearly, he has some work to do to regain the love of Galaxy fans.
After the game was over (Beckham had assisted on both of the team's scores), he assured the press that he only intended to make nice with the fan and that he understood their resentment towards him.
"It's to be expected," he said. Sometimes it goes beyond it. I tried to shake one of the guy's hands but he didn't want any of it. That's the way it is."
We're giving David the benefit of the doubt and believe his story that he was just trying to make peace. He usually is superly mild-mannered and we can't really see him losing his cool with just one random person.

He isnt england captain, John Terry is. Also he has to go play in europe as he wants to play for england in the world cup next year. The football, sorry soccer, in the US is nowhere near the standard he needs to be playing at to achieve that. Tbh he should never have gone, i think he went for all the wrong reasons. Any team in europe would still want him, he should come back to england, sign for portsmouth becks! Haha.

seriously i am so sick of beckham, he only came to the u.s cuz over in europe he is getting old, and the new stars of europe are making him look like a 2nd string player. The u.s would of course drop rediculous amount of money to get him cuz the MLS was suffering. Pick a team, dont be a half time player… DOUCHE
Re: luvpapi11 – he came to America to improve "soccer", he didnt come here because of his age, he did pretty good in Milan and he still is one of the best free kickers,,,,, teams get loans all the time, so people who are bitchin about beckham being in MIlan need to shut up,,,u cant blame Beckham because the agreement was between LA and Milan,,LA got extra money from MIlan, so "soccer fans" blame LA managment and leave Beckham alone..

I'm insulted that people don't think Americans like soccer, LOL. I do. Anyways, Beckham is a douche. He said he wanted to bring soccer here, yet not much has changed. Then all of a sudden, he spends 5 months in Italy. Eh, he can just leave already, no one needs him as the U.S. seems to be doing better. I was really proud with 2nd place in the Confederations Cup : )
Who cares what LA Galaxy think and their fans? The MLS teams are like Tier 4 THEYRE NOT PROFESSIONALS, theyre a bunch of amateurs running around and they should be happy that Beckham even gave them the time of day. North America doesnt know real football and they should shut up.
