Dog-Abusing Former NFL Star Released From Jail
As we mentioned before, former NFL star Michael Vick was jailed for his role in a vicious dogfight scandal.
The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback then had to file for bankruptcy protection as he claimed he was between $10-50 million in debt.
But good news for the "animal lover". He's just been released from federal prison after completing his sentence on the felony dogfighting charges.
For the past two months, Vick has been under home confinement to complete the last part of his sentence. During that time he reportedly worked in construction and helped with youth clubs during his stay at a halfway house program.
Vick now faces three years probation and has a three-year suspended sentence on state dogfight charges.
Sources are also revealing that the former QB is expected to seek reinstatement to the NFL. But according to a statement released by the NFL today, "The review of his status is ongoing."
As for Vick's football team, he was dropped last month by the Falcons and is now a free agent. Though with all his time behind jail, we wonder if he's still as good as he used to be.
But more importantly, do U think he should get a second chance?

Some people are such hypocrites!! He/She without SIN cast the first STONE. How can you say he doesnt deserve a second chance. Everyone deserves a second chance. That is why Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins so we can be forgiven for our sins and mistakes. Im sure several of you who are staying he doesnt deserve a 2nd chance have done things wrong and was happy to be given a 2nd chance. No sin is greater than the other.

Michael Vick paid for his actions with his time in jail. A person should not be punished lifelong for a crime after they fairly served their time in jail. He got more time in jail than people do when they beat their kids or spouses. I think Vick deserves a second chance in the NFL. He is currently working on an anti-dog fighting campaign with the Human Society and even though he can't fix the past, he is trying to improve himself.
No denying it, Vick was an awesome football player.

I can't stand the guy and I think he is a total scum bag for what he did, but he was sentenced, served his time, and if he can still physically play football he should be allowed to play and make a living. What should happen is that he should NEVER EVER be allowed to own a pet again.
Absolutely not! Nobody deserves a second chance when such an atriocity like this has been committed. Michael Vick deserves a much longer sentence and this sentence should not be served in "home confinement." He is a disgrace.

His crime wasn't just a heat-of-the-moment act; it was repetitive and malicious. I hope he goes broke and has to live in the gutter!
I do think he did his time and should be allowed to work again should the NFL have him back. I'd like to think he's learned something from his experience but knowing depraved ass human nature he probably is still clueless. While I did intially support a Federal prohibition of Dogfighting I am now finding myself opposed to it only because I don't like the power it gives the federal government to seize a resident of a state and punish them even if the state has satisfactory laws regarding this issue. I think in the future, dogfighting should be prosecuted at the state level unless it violates the interstate provision of the commerce clause of the U.S. Constitution.

What disgusts me is that many of you people will be more upset over what was done to those dogs than what is regularly done to babies in this country when they are aborted in the last trimester. I find what was done to the dogs and what is done to aborted baby humans equally disturbing; but one crime is more socially acceptable than the other.
