Obama Wants More TV Time!
Interrupting the country's favorite TV shows is not the greatest way to go about boosting your approval rating, Barack!
The Prez will be holding yet another primetime presidential news conference on Wednesday at 9 PM, as announced on the White House Twitter, but the major networks are having their doubts about airing the conference.
Wednesday night is the biggest night for the networks' summertime schedules, with new episodes of reality programming on all the big name networks, except for CBS!
CBS has signed on to broadcast the conference, with Fox, NBC and ABC still taking their sweet time in making up their minds.
Both Fox and NBC would be interrupting their summer mega-hits So You Think You Can Dance? and America's Got Talent if they were to air Obama's event!
Wednesday night's broadcast will be President Obama's fourth (!) news event since taking office in January. Seems a little excessive, dontcha think???

Uh, would you say that about FDR? The president is trying to communicate with the masses, and it's a good thing he is. Why would people be so ungrateful when he's trying to keep the people updated? FDR spent hours every week on his fireside chats to do so, and I think President Obama is great for trying to do the same–whether or not he has anything "worthy" to say.

Boosting his approval rating? That's a laugh. Let's look at some recent polls:
- Gallup: His overall approval rating was 55%, the lowest of his young presidency. That puts Obama 10th among the 12 post-World War II presidents at this point in their tenures. When he took office, he ranked 7th.
- Rasmussen: 30% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-seven percent (37%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of –7.

Well..I have mixed feelings on this one. I like that our President wants to communicate with the people, but I am becoming concerned that he might be a little bit "addicted" to media attention. There are other ways to get info out to the masses. If it is something of real importance then it should pre-empt any tv show..but if he's just trying to "stay popular", that's another story.

This means gov. will pick who you see. When you see them(if you need surgery you may wait months or years.They will decide who gets treatment based on age, health,and income. Yes thats what this guy is pushing on us all.If you need a surgery to treat an illness, they will have the decision if you even GET it. You may die before you ever get help. Fuck him and his socialized healthcare!! The answer is to spread healthcare costs evenly among all states, not individual states having their own. Even at that - this package is in the TRILLIONS, not double digit billions that Bush's tax cuts expiring would bring in. Please tell me where the other 2 TRILLION will come from? Raising taxes on EVERYTHING a minimum of 2-4% and Obama not only wants this reform - he WANTS TO TAX IT, BOTH the people getting it, and the employers having to provide it!
