Talks Moving Along, Michael Jackson Hitting The Big Screen!

Sony Pictures is in talks to make a feature film using the 80 hours of Michael Jackson's rehearsal footage prepping for his performance in London.
The studio is expected to pay upwards of $50 million for global rights to AEG Entertainment, the owners of the footage.
The film will feature at least three videos that were to be used as vignettes during the London shows, including a 3-D version of Thriller.
High School Musical director Kenny Ortega, who also shot the rehearsal footage and was helming the concert, is expected to direct the feature in hopes of releasing it before the end of the year.

I will totally see this movie. Sounds like it will be like a concert on the big screen. Loved the Doors movie and the Selena movie. The music that loud is like being at the concert. Also loved Truth or Dare, (Madonna Movie). This is giving everyone a chance to see his last concert. RIP Michael.
QUESTION: isn't AEG Entertainment the same co that hired the dr that is about to be charged with murdering Michael? & now they're about to make 50 million on rehearsal footage etc… :-/ ugh

I'd probably check it out on DVD. To be honest, not much gets me into the theatre these days. It'd have to be something REALLY spectacular before I'd justify spending $30.00 to see it.

I love Michael and will watch this movie as I enjoy watching him perform. As for people making money off of him, well, it's better that people make money doing something that celebrates or showcases his talent (as this movie will) versus pumping out more bullshit in the tabloids (which have made tons of money writing total bullshit about the poor man) - he was a celebrity and no matter what, someone, somewhere will be profitting off of his death and musical career - it's just the way the world is. It's up to his fans as to where the money is being made - and the fans want it to be made in a manner that is respectful both to Michael himself and to his musical career.
As for people hating on Michael - you all just need to let it go already! If you don't like him, that's ok, nobody says you have to like him or give a shit that he is dead. There is nothing wrong in feeling that way. But what is wrong is bashing him and disrespecting his memory by writing defamatory shit about the man and/or his music. If you don't like him, that's fine, but keep your nasty comments to yourself!
And to his fans on here…you guys ROCK and I know that you are the reason why Michael made his music and I'm sure even if it was only briefly that you (and I) made him happy by loving him so much!!!

Michael is not like other performers… He's a perfectionist and liked taping the full rehearsals. You can see this yourself if you go on Youtube and look at the footage from his "Dangerous" tour. He rehearsed at Neverland for that tour and it was all taped.
