Seems like for TLC, fat is in!
The network, recently in the spotlight for hosting the dysfunctional "loving-family" show, Jon & Kate Plus Eight, is taking a new approach with its programming.
Recently, TLC aired a special titled The 650-pound Virgin chronicling an obese man's 450lb weight loss.
And, now, the network is at it again - this time with a whole series.
TLC has just ordered a six-episode series following the lives of a morbidly obese family.
The documentary show, tentatively titled One Big Happy Family, will consist of 30-minute episodes and chronicle the lives of a family from North Carolina - a 40-year-old man weighing 340lbs, his 35-year-old wife weighing almost 400lbs, and their teenage kids, a boy and a girl weighing 330 and 340 lbs.
The docu will tell each of the family member's stories in first-person and deal a lot with the kids' struggle.
Should be inneresting. What do U think, will U watch?

My Perezcious did NOT pitch a show at TLC called "Fat Blogger" and it was NOT rejected because TLC found out he planned to lose 20 pounds by clipping his toe nails!

No, I will NOT watch. I do not like watching obese people on TV. I am obese so it just doesn't interest me to see fellow fatties and their struggles. Now celebrities are different, I would watch Kirstey Alley in a heartbeat, love her!

Those shows make me sad, but they also make me feel inspired. I'm about 20 pounds overweight, and seeing people lose hundreds of pounds makes me inspired to lose the measly 20 pounds.

Not interested in watching a family of tubbies..nor any other family whether they be short, fat, drug-addicted, a plethora of offsprings, etc. People are so weird that there is actually a market for these types of shows. The voyeurism that pervades in this world has got to stop. I hope that one day the mass of sheeple will actually be more concerned about their own selves and families than the dreary drab world of staged reality shows.

Since when did people become interested in watching families of fat/skinny/short/tall/otherwise abnormal people go around, doing everyday crap?.. It would be interesting to follow a starving family in some third world country though. How's that for reality TV?
