Pot-Loving Harry Potter Actor Gets Off Easy!

More celebrity justice for ya!!!

Jamie Waylett, who plays bully Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter films, was sentenced to 120 hours of community service after pleading guilty to growing marijuana.

Ten marijuana plants were found in the actor's bedroom of his mother's house in London!!!

Classy!

The maximum for this crime is 14 years behind bars, so he should thank his lucky wizard stars that he's an actor!

      Re: greatgatsby – Right

    6. 6

Why is that getting off easy! It is something that should be legal in the first place and he should not get in trouble for at all.

    7. 7

      Dang that sucks.

    8. 8

      lol….we all smoke i m sure hahahaha
      but growing…..i donno…120 hs sounds fair :) )

Getting off easy? Nobody serves 14 years behind bars for growing weed, actor or not. What a waste of govt money, imprisoning people for growing a plant???
Have you ever even smoked a joint Perez? It might make you a lil less obnoxious.
      LEGALIZE!

    12. 12

of course he does, what famous person doesn't get off easy? my brother got 6 months in jail, and like 300 hours community service for the same thing

    13. 13

you should have included "Judge Timothy Workman said Tuesday that he accepted the cultivation was on a small scale and for Waylett's own use"…has nothing to do with being an actor, more with a very progressively forward thinking country!

    14. 14

meanwhile, everyone is getting tanked and driving and running into shit, hurting and killing people in alcohol fueled DUI's and domestic violence. Pointing the finger and latent stoners. Give me a break. A more appropriate punishment would have been charging the government for lost crops and time and resources. 10 plants is nothing for someone testing strains for efficacy for N malady.

Marijuana will end up being the cure for this Global Recession, CANCER

      Re: derek78

unforunately, UK is going backwards in terms of marijuana. They've recently rescheduled it from a 'c' class to a 'b' class crime, which is a VERY stark difference in sentencing. Essentially making all possession over there a felony. They are wrapped up in the hysteria of the "skunk weed" propaganda which is the buzz word for any potent marijuana with a high cannabinoid content.

It used to be true that the UK was more forward thinking on this topic, until the UNITED STATES DEA bullied them into thinking otherwise, much like Canada who was on the brink of legalisation just a year+ ago. Now in the same boat. Thank the US and the DEA for exporting their prohibitionist policies and their gung ho adrenaline junkie desire to kick down your fuckin door.

Re: JigSaw – i'll trade ya a smoke out for your tricycle!

    17. 17

not exactly legal, but is most of the stuff you do/say 'classy' perez? yeaaaaaa…

    18. 18

I have been waiting for you to post this all day! another example of celebrity justice. Rules/laws don't apply here! puff puff pass.

    19. 19

It's only some pot. No one in the UK cares about cannabis, there are bigger drug problems to be concerned with. You walk down busy streets and frequently smell people smoking. It's not a big deal.
I'd rather my tax money go towards locking up real criminals, not some kid growing some pot. Make him give back to the community by picking up garbage or something, and let our money go towards locking up paedophiles, murderers, and rapists!!!

Re: caffeinated_princess – NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO anything but the red bike… i got some games we could play…

    21. 21

ew he just LOOKS like a future inmate.

    22. 22

What's your problem with pot, perez? First off, marijuana is not a "drug". Its a plant, its not man made or manufactured in any way, its grown. And so what if he was growing it, maybe he just didn't want to have to keep payin the dope man. More people should get off this easily though. Meth, crack, heroin, ecstacy, etc, should carry stiffer penalties while marijuana prohibition should be ended. Smoke a joint sometime and you'll probably quit bashing pot. That's what I did.

    23. 23

      please it's just some pot.

    24. 24

he didnt get off easy because he's an ”actor”! he got of easy because he lives in england, a country which sentences people who drive drunk and kill someone in the process to 6 yrs and let them out after 3 for good behaviour!

    25. 25

Good for him next time keep the total plants under 5 lol

    26. 26

      puff harder young wizard!!!!!!!!!!!!

    27. 27

Re: intheskywivdiamonds – Drunk driving laws in the UK are far stricter than the US.

    28. 28

so does everyone that gets charged with this stuff, no one ever gets slapped with the full works

    29. 29

they hardly EVER give the full sentence for anyone perez…you're an idiot.

    30. 30

Re: Serena!!!COLON!!! You Twats – which is why its the american celebrities which are constantly getting done for it…
to be honest they have biger fish to fry than a pit of weed, like proper drugs and the 11 years old getting paralytically drunk in the streets

Perez - i think the more worrying thing here, and something that needs highlighting, is the fact that this was only picked up on because Waylett was stopped under the Terrorism Act after taking a photo of a cop car.

Terrorism paranoia has been taken to a new level this year, and no-one seems to be noticing.

In other news, JK Rowling might be a paedophile so she will have to go through checks before coming into contact with any more British children.

    32. 32

Weed will be legal within 20 years.

Its JUST marijunana! I swear out of 10 people at least 4 have done it..

      34

No big deal. Glad he got off.

It's only ten plants. And it's only Pot.

      Chill Perez…

you need a toke or two!

      35

That's not celebrity justice, that's anything goes European justice.

    36. 36

Thank Goodness…he better learn from this! I mean it makes sense for him not to be sentenced to 14 years in prison. He's YOUNG and up to that point he hasn't been in any trouble and he's actually been doing something good with his life. I don't know why he all of a sudden decided to grow pot, but I really hope he learns from this mistake.

    37. 37

Are you effin with me Perez? You live in freaking CALIPORNIA. WE LOVE OUR GANJ, and it's practically legal with prop 215. Prison sentencing for anyone for that plant is like the most retarded fart bubble to come out of your fingertips ever. Actor my ass. In my county I'm allowed 12 plants! Legally! So puff puff pass bro!

    38. 38

Perez, west Hollywood is full of cannabis clubs. have you seen them dear? this is so 90's. Move along… nothing to see here.

    39. @v@ says – reply to this

      39

It had nothing to do with his higher profile. As it was only ten plants his penalty was lighter as they stated they believed it was only for his personal use rather than for trafficking. Glad they showed some sense and mercy here.

    40. 40

FUCK YOU PEREZ! if people weren't stoned, NO ONE would read your website. STOP supporting criminalizing pot smokers. NORML.com

    41. 41

Yeah because playing "fat bloke" in a movie is acting, he should go at it with Amy Winehouse
