Though the legendary news anchor has passed away, the voice of Walter Cronkite will continue to be heard announcing the "CBS Evening News with Katie Couric."

Cronkite had made the recording in 2006 and following his death, the network planned to pull it, but has since reconsidered.

With the blessing of his family, CBS will continue to use it.

Long live Uncle Walter!

Aw, that reminds me… they still have MacDonald Carey's voice in the opening to Days of Our Lives… "Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives."

I can hear it now, "Perez Hilton is officially a douche… and that's the way it is."

Sadly, Uncle Walter would have hated you, Perez, and everything you're doing to "journalism."
