A 40-year-old woman was found dead today in a machine at the food processing plant where she was an employee.
Located in the City of Industry, a suburb east of Los Angeles, the plant is a major supplier for McDonalds restaurants. In fact, the food processing company developed the famous Big Mac special sauce in the 60s.
The death appears to have been an accident.
No other details were given.
Sad.

An investigation is underway after a 40-year-old woman was killed in a freak accident at a food processing plant in the City of Industry.
It happened early Tuesday at Golden State Foods, which is a major supplier for McDonald's restaurants.
Anna Maria Vital, of La Puente, was found crushed to death inside a boxing machine at the plant, according to Craig Harvey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.
She was attempting to remove a box which had become stuck in the machine when the accident occured, Harvey said. Mechanics apparently tried to pull her out of the machine's grip before it was too late.
It was reported that Vital would have turned 41 years old on Saturday.
One employee, who did not want to give his name, said when the box-moving robot grabbed Vital, mechanics attempted to remove her from the machinery before it was too late.
"There are sensors that are supposed to stop this type of thing from happening," the employee said.

This is a freak accident that could have happened at any food processing plant. I am sure they are taking every single step they possibly can to ensure the general publics safety. There is no reason you need to have a picture of the companies symbol when talking about this freak accident, rude.

ewwww!! thats why i dont eat there or really any fastfod place there food is gross! first wendys with a thumb in the chilly ( i still cant eat there ) then mcdonalds with this
the woman readily climed up a machine that crushes BOXES to try and free a box that was stuck. around 10 others watched as she did this. there were clear signs stating not to do so. so no, she was not found dead. some other workers pulled her out of the machine and she lived for a small amount of time before she passed away.
it is extremely tragic also considering that she is a single mother with three children.

Years ago a guy was cleaning out the meat grinder at a burrito plant, it was a huge vat, they could not find him after the weekend, but they did find his parts in the burritos.

I'm sorry but this is not funny at all! My mom was there working with this lady when this happened. She saw everything it was a horrible accident that could of been prevented by shutting off the emergency kill switch. Who knows why she tried to do that but she lost her life. My mom will be forever tramatized with what she experienced, she was a human just like evryone of us. Her choice was not the right one but she was loved by all her co-workers, My heart goes out to her family and kids. May she rest in peace.
