Dear Rachel Griffiths, That's No Way To Hold A Baby!

Australian wacktress Rachel Griffiths needs to stop following Octo-Mom's guide to parenting!

The Brothers & Sisters star was spotted on Monday taking her newborn, Clementine Grace, to the Encino Medcal Center in Encino, California.

Griffiths took her month-old daughter in for a checkup, but someone should be checking on Rachel.

Aren't you supposed to support your newborn's head?

And that just doesn't seam to be the best way to carry a child either.

You're holding onto your baby, not a bag of groceries!

Perez stop talk about stuff u have no idea about! That is perfectly fine & was my prefered way to 'burp' my baby. Baby is comfortable & supported whilst having room to test out their little muscles….you win Perez u'r comments got me talking bout it ey?

Re: PixieCullen – Uumm…She's 41 years old…? Whats ya point?

    3. 303

ewww her hands are like yellow
and i think she would know perez, she s a mother of like 3!! after all.

    4. 304

I'm not a mother, so I wouldn't know the 'correct' way, however you got to admit it it looks effy.

    5. 305

I am a nurse in a neo-natal ward, and I assure you that is a perfectly acceptable way to hold an infant(especially one with gas/colic)…everything about this posture is physically supportive.
Get your facts before you call someone a bad parent.

    6. 306

perez !!! your comments can b more destructive than you sometimes realize ! loads of rubbish! she holds her baby perfectly! how dare you !!

      sometimes you go to far

    7. 307

i've had five babies with the misses………the nurse showed us with the first one that is one of the most secure and comfy ways to hold the kid…….she is a practiced mum………..someone homlicious like you hasnt learned that yet…….

    8. 308

Perez, that is the correct way to hold a baby, theres more than one, and wtf is up with her hands??

    9. 309

God Mario, you are such a bitch lately. Why do you insist on talking smack on something you know nothing about.

    10. 310

That's how people hold babies in Australia

    11. 311

its fine to hold a baby this way. the some babies love being on their belly, and this position is really safe, just as safe as a baby being face up.

    12. 312

Perez - when you and your husband collect your children from the surrogate, (and we know this day will come) you will be very glad to have learned how to hold a baby from the fantastic Rachel Griffiths. This position is the only way to help a baby SCREAMING IN PAIN with colic.

Who's the baby momma going to be? Have you a lovely lesbian already lined up? Are you going to star f*$& and use SJP's surrogate or has Lady Gaga agreed?

Keep calling out the crap but leave the good guys alone to get on with their lives.

    14. 314

      The baby's fine like that!
So what if she drops it?

    15. 315

      She looks like a guy

    16. 316

there is a reason why men can't give birth.. they are idiots..Perez.. more celeb info less parenting advice you fool.

    17. 317

and you are a fuck stick..

    18. pj88 says – reply to this

      318

      That's the pefect way!!!

    19. 319

      She looks like a man.

    20. 320

      Ever held a baby perez?

    21. 321

oh my gosh you are clueless Perez……

    22. 322

Perez, It's obvious u don't have kids. That's a great way to carry a baby if they r having gas pains. Although, I normally would carry baby with head in not out.

    23. 323

PEREZ-STICK TO BLOGGING-LEAVE THE REAL IMPORTANT ISSUES TO US. Obviously you know nothing about babies KJBrocks is right it does help with gas. I think SHE knows what shes doing.
The first kid your freaked about everything-by the third-its a breeze-no worries.

    24. 324

Perez…usually I support your freedom of speech (although most times you take it too far) but this is a legitimate way to hold an infant. You make yourself look bad when you dont do your research. Shame on you…

    25. 325

      ARE YOU AN IDIOT, PEREZ?
      .
      .
That is a totally acceptable way to hold a newborn - the head IS getting support.
      .
      .

    26. 326

My son loved being held like that…perfectly safe!

    27. Peps says – reply to this

      327

It's called the sleeping leopard or something like that. They do show this in antenatal classes as a perfectly legitimate way of holding a baby.

    28. 328

as many others have commented, it is okay to hold the baby that way… however - babies aren't supposed to be out in the sun!! I know it was probably only for a minute or two, but still … normally people carry babies that size in ther carseats so they aren't exposed to the sun…

    29. 329

Dear Perez, until you have children of your own please don't try to judge people too much on parenting. eg. still drinking out of bottle at a certain age(suri), being carried instead of walking(violet) and now how to carry a child. Little babies love to be carried like this, it really calms them. She looks like she perfectly capable of holding her head up. Anyway, parenting is not as straightforward as you would hope and most mothers do their absolute best in caring for their children.

    30. 330

Sheesh so many people are so harsh. I have two boys myself and before I had them if I saw a picture like that I would be kinda squeemish about it. Being a mom I know better now. Babies balance out different than you would think. They arent as breakable as I thought..No where near as breakable - lol -

    31. 331

this is her THIRD child perez!!!

    32. 332

Thats how you hold a baby when they have gas.. stop being so hard on parents when you arent one yourself! :)

    33. 333

The baby is fine….but her hands are scary!

    34. 334

the baby looks fine like that! jesus, give the lady a break

    35. 335

WHAT THE HELL WOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT HOW TO HOLD A BABY??? It's perfectly fine to hold a baby that way~it helps with gas. Why don't you stick with what you know Perez ~ Gossip!

    36. 336

Um, yeah, that's actually a very responsible way to hold a baby. What the hell do you know about raising kids?

    37. 337

Awwww…….that poor baby!!! She is carrying her like she's nothing but a sack of taters!!!!! That's so horrible!!!

    38. 338

While that is fine, it still looks like she's going to bonk his head into that mirror.

    39. 339

OHHH, BECAUSE NOW YOUR ALSO AN EXPERT ON PARENTING AND BABIES EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T HAVE ONE AND HAVE PROBABLY NEVER EVEN HELD ONE? GREAAAT! SOMETHING ELSE TO DETEST YOU FOR. AND THIS IS NOT GOING TO HURT HER BABY, MAYBE IT JUST ATE AND NEEDED TO SPIT UP.

    40. 340

perez you are a douche. obviously you don't (and never will) have kids. this is a fine and natural way to carry a baby. they love it and their head is supported fine. go pet your flea-bag dog.

    41. 341

ONCE again you have no clue what you are talking about Perez.

    42. 342

The baby survives getting pushed out of a small vagina, belive me, it will survive getting hold like that. And its totaly normal to hold a baby like that!

    43. DVTG says – reply to this

      343

Perez, you're an idiot. That's a very good way to hold a small infant. It's very supported and comfortable for both parent and baby. The baby's tummy is held firmly (which feels good and safe for the baby). The hold also helps bring up air from the infant's tummy so they can burp.

    44. 344

This is a very normal way to hold a newborn .. especially if they are gassy, it puts pressure on their stomachs and allows them to feel better !! Obviously Perez, you haven't been around babies much LOL

    45. 345

Why are her hands so yellow in the second picture ??

    46. 346

Re: zaniac01 – LOL it looks like your choking the baby when you burp them like that .. but it is my favorite way to burp a baby, and usually works wonders all the time. It just looks so funny when they are held like that lol

    47. 347

That's the most comfortable way to hold a baby, and they love it. Kept all of mine from being fussy.

    48. 348

Dumbass that is a very effective way to hold a baby especially a baby who has gas.

    49. disco says – reply to this

      349

Yep, this is normal, very plain and normal.

    50. 350

      no..no.
You can't hold a young baby like that :O

    51. 351

the baby's fine dumb ass…but look at her hands??!?!?!?! giant yellow monters!!!

    52. 352

the way she's holding her baby is fine. I'm a nicu nurse and although i can hold most of my babies in the palm of one of my hands, lots of us hold the babies like this when we are moving them or changing their sheets, bathing, weighing, etc. the baby's head is fine….the head needs support from falling backwards and sideways, which obviously in this pic it is not doing! if anything she's helping her kiddo out because holding the baby on her tummy or actually doing any kind of "tummy time" helps the baby gain strength and control in its neck muscles…

    53. 353

forget about the baby, whats up with her big ole ugly man hands? I thought Madonnas and SJP's were bad,but I think we have new contender!!

    54. 354

im a mom. And that is one correct way to hold a baby, u should know more about parenting if u are going to make a comment.

    55. 355

u r an idiot! have you had a baby????? every mom in the universe has held their baby like that!

    56. ebee says – reply to this

      356

haha - i suppose you're an expert on how to care for an infant. that baby (and it's head) are perfectly secure. in fact, i'm having trouble thinking of a safer hold…since this is how nfl players hold onto a ball while getting the sh!t kocked out of them.

    57. 357

Re: dogtits – marry me. :)

    58. 358

OMG sweet jesus THE LORD HAVE MERCY

    59. 359

No wonder you got your ass kicked. She is fine holding the baby like that.

    60. 360

What are you talking about? Babies love to be held like that. It's a classic position and it's really comfortable to them.

    61. bigt says – reply to this

      361

      ug… the baby is fine

    62. 362

MAN FACE AND MAN HANDS! PUKE!!!!!!!

    63. 363

thats called the "magic baby hold" supposedly, they like it cause the feel safe and secure…

    64. 364

See I told you people he is retarded.

    65. 365

Re: Craic Head – Do you have a child?

    66. 366

That's a woman? I thought it was John Cameron Mitchell from Hedwig and the Angry Inch. That is no way to hold and WALK WITH a baby, people. And Perez: "seam"? You really need to get an editor, or at least use spell/grammar check.

    67. 367

Pretty sure I held my son like that to get him to go to sleep & it worked it is completly safe as long as you have a safe hold on the child and are not swinging them around like a sack.

    68. 368

My mom works as a nurse for early born children, and she says it's totally okay to carry a baby like this. Babies have different likes and dislikes how to carry them, it's very personal and individual.
I hate people who don't have kids telling parents what to do and how. It's very arrogant and dispensable!
