Katie Holmes Talks Dance Garland Tribute
She better bring it!
Katie Holmes is psyched about her performance on So You Think You Can Dance's 100th episode on Thursday.
"I like to sing and dance so it is really fun," says Holmes of her much talked about tribute to Judy Garland's Get Happy.
In the spot, directed by show producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe, and choreographed by Tyce Diorio, Holmes is lifted over three dancer's heads.
For the finale, she reportedly throws her hat in the air to be caught by one of the male dancers.
We're sure it will look better than just reading about it!!!
Katie agreed to make the appearance after becoming involved with the non-profit Dizzy Feet Foundation, which provides assistance to talented underprivileged youth.
"It is to give scholarships to these young kids," says the star. "I think it is important to experience music and dancing and singing and the arts and sports. This is the next generation. I think it is important to give them every opportunity to grow and discover what it is that they like and to have access to the best. "

It's just a dance, and it's always a brave thing to put yourself out there doing something you're not known for. It's basically for charity, so good on her no matter how it goes. She gets marks from me for just showing up.

Why would you wish for her to fail? Such an awful character trait. I think she will do well, and I hope she does. She's doing this to benefit children, so how can you rip on her for it? It would take so much courage to sing and dance on a television show millions will watch. You just sit in your closet and rip on people.

Most, well the majority of gay men WORSHIP Judy and consider it a Sacrilege to attempt such a thing, especially if U have no talent. Starring in Dawsons Creek and marrying Tom Cruise doesn't make U a celeb or a talented performer. He, like a lot of other people are just merely asking the question-couldn't FOX have found someone that is a joy to watch and not a joy to make fun of? There are 100's of celebs that can sing and dance and have actually proved it.

Judy Garland has scared the shit out of me since I was a kid. She would be on tv on one of her specials, and she was only in her 40's, and you could see her teeth/gums were rotting and you could damn-near smell the drugs. She seemed like she could just flip-out at any time. I stayed at the MGM in Vegas and they had a picture of her over my bed (in a black dress, smoking) I had to hang a towel over it before I went to sleep.
Is there any other reason than this silly woman is married to Tom Cruise that the viewers of SYTUCD must be subjected to her amaturish aspirations. The show is about dancers and who has the right stuff to make in an exceptionally tough business. Holmes' only achievement is marrying up to get a foot up for her non-existent career. Stay home and breed your stupid spawn, woman.
