Paula Adrool Gets A Dance Consolation Prize!
Is there room enough for two crazy, doped-up divas on a reality competition show? There just might have to be because producer/judge Nigel Lythgoe has his eyes fixated on Paula Abdul joining So You Think You Can Dance, if American Idol gives her the boot.
Though Ryan Seacrest has just gotten his big payout, there is still no word yet if Paula will be back as an American Idol judge. If she isn't invited back,it should be nice for her to hear she has other options.
Nigel exclaims: "We would certainly consider her as a guest judge. Without question."
"Guest" judge or "permanent" judge?
Many are speculating that the end of Paula could mean the beginning of the end of Idol. However, Nigel feels otherwise: "At the end of the day, that program is bigger than any individual. Even Simon."
We're not so sure about that!

Paula Abdool is the Heart of AI…. I will not watch it if she is not on it.. The producers of the show are stupid if they don't wanna pony up more money for her… It might just be a big publicity stunt for the show tho… Like is Paula coming back and when they have the first episode of the new season we will find out if she's back and the ratings will be up. It dosn't take a rocket scientist to realize this

I hardly watch Idol but it's already going down the crapper and without Paula I think it will get worse. It really is the beginning of the end. Thank God, because it is getting old now. Paula should definitely judge on So You Think You Can Dance. I think that seems more fitting for her because she is an amazing dancer.

American Idol and Paul Abdul go together forever. SYTYCD I don't even watch nor will bother, even if she goes there. Really, it's ridiculous. Give her the damn contract and stop stirring publicity. Did the ratings take that much of a dive? Don't insult us, anymore.

she would be much better on so u think u can dance. she knows more about dance ( shes a damn good choreogragher and dancer) than music (obviously since the woman cannot sing). she never really added anything to american idol except the nice factor. she rarely gave constructive criticism until the last season. and i think she stepped up her game last season ONLY because kara was on it.

Oh GOD NOOOOOOOO……The judges on SYTYCD have always kept a very high level of integrity…if the dancers were good, they praised them…if they sucked the let them know that too. There is NO room for a "feel good judge" which is all Paula is…she lacks the integrity to be a viable decision for anything other than a "gues" on this show.

Nigel is obviously the ultimate "Insider" and I think he, and the other producers of American Idol know a lot more about Paula's "condition" than we do. So if he says "guest judge" he is sending a message loud and clear. "Guest judge " is as good as it will get for Paula "I'm not stoned"Abdul. Paula needs to be quiet now and let her agent negotiate a little raise for her.She is disruptive and distracting on AI and often embarrassing. I'd bet Paula ends up being a part-timer. They will give her a slight raise, then cut back so she's not on every week, and have some "guest judges." I think eventually they will gradually rotate her out altogether.
If "IDOL" is willing to pay her a "measly" TEN MILLION DOLLARS…………..and fuck, this girl wants TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS ?

Ummm, How come you can not comment on the ELEPHANTS post! That is unnacceptable the way they treat those elephants. I don't care if PETA IS an animal extremist group, the proof is in the video. This is why I prefer Cirque Du Soleil because they do not use animals. Animals belong in they're natural habitat, not on tour all over the world!

i think she would work on sytycd, but def only as a guest…even though she's definitely qualified to judge dancing, i think she's too far removed from the "current" dance scene (like…compared to mia michaels, tyce, the hip hop ppl they have on there, etc) for the majority people to care what she says. i think she belongs on idol!
She's like, forever my idol grrrl, man. Yep. Even slurry and incoherent, she has more heart in her little pinky than the whole rest of 'em. Honestly, Idol without Paula is like having Christmas without Santa… or letting anybody wearing red…. or hanging up the tinsel- why bother? And seriously, I won't. Watch Idol without Paula, I mean. It's like half the drama and none of the charm.

I don't think she brings much to either dance or song. But I think she has a tad more credibility with dance, but she would ruin SYTYCD as a permanent judge. A guest spot would be ok.

he medicated antics and exaggerated speeches are what makes idol. although she is better at dancing, and will forever be, she should at least be a permanent judge on SYTYCD (possibly replace Mary Murphy because she don't know shiz about Hip Hop).

I don't watch Idol, so I would be stoked if she went on SYTYCD, cause I do watch that. Paula rocks. I would watch Idol for her if they didn't have that Seacrest on there.

Why not both? C'mon.. Ryan is great at his job, but Paula deserves the money she is asking. In publicity alone she makes earns her money. If Paula is not there come January, its really going to change the dynamic of the show and I don't think the audience will get over that

anyhoooosss….. Ringling SUCKS and everyone should ban them. I repeat DO NOT go to the circus that has animals!!! I stopped my daughter from attending on a school trip and made the teacher look into it more. They cancelled the trip and went hiking instead. Enjoying nature and wildlife the way it is supposed to be. Ringling is a bunch of assholes.
I'd take Paula over that loud-ass Mary Murphy any day!

AI is not what is use to be, so we don't watch every week anymore, but we do watch SYTYCD EVERY week. If Paula is removed, I won't watch AI anymore…it would be dead to me…she and simon are the only regulars that make it interesting…she sweet and crazy and simon is painfully honest and vicious…i like!…paula would make a great guest judge on SYTYCD…like Ellen did last night!
NO she's an Idol girl…DO NOT…and that's a big NOT… bring her to SYTYCD! It'll ruin the show!

Paula is encountering the glass ceiling. There is NO reason for the guys to make more. She could prob. take it to court, and they'd have to even it up, at least with Randy Jackson. Simon has a bit of a diff. role, as does Seacrest. This could also all be to stir up some pre-season P.R. I liked Kara well enough even though she was no Paula, but I didn't think she really added anything but an annoying distraction. (She wasn't particularly annoying, but having a fourth judge was.)

THIS IS HORRIBLE! I love that show to death. but if they have u go on that show. it will be ruined for ever! She knows nothing about dance. or singing for that matter she shouldnt even be noticed. We have the Paula abdul of So You think you can dance! We dont need drunken clamping and saying you look great in that show! Wednesday's dance with Mellisa and Ade was beautiful and about breast cancer. Paula wouldnt have been crying she would have been laughing and saying she looked beautiful! She isnt right for a judging spot. NOT AT ALL!
