The Notebook Returns - As A Musical!
This could either be really bad or really spectacular. Judging by the people behind the project, we don't see any Tony's in it's future, though!
The sappy lovefest known as The Notebook is being turned into a musical by the genius minds of Bethany Joy Galeotti, who plays Haley on One Tree Hill, and Ron Aniello, who's a mediocre record producer. What either of them know about creating a Broadway show could probably fill a thimble, but, hey - got to do what you got to do.
The project is still in the early stages of development as a workshop based in Wilmington, North Carolina. In fact, if you live in the area and are interested in flaunting your theatrical chops, they are holding auditions in the first two weekends of August.
Be forewarned aspiring Broadway babes- there is no pay, and this is most likely a ploy to get investors to move production to New York. However, everybody needs a start so CLICK HERE for their website and more details.

She is AWESOME and writes all of her own music and she is totally invested in having this musical on Broadway. She has done tons of theater and musicals and knows what she is doing. Maybe you should listen to her before you make up your mind

OMIGOD JOY!!! I'm going to sound like a major fan girl right now but whatever, I LOVE her she is an insanely talented musician with a huge musical background! I would definetely go and see it but I'm all the way in Canada.

You know Joy lived in New York for years and was around the Broadway atmosphere, right? You know that Joy was offered to play the role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, right? JOY is SO talented! It's unbelievable. She is the RIGHT person to do this musical and I have no doubt that this musical is going to be a sure HIT. She had so much training with many of the big names in the broadway. She has musical theatre training before she was cast to play in OTH & she was offered the role of 'Belle' in "Beauty in the Beast" on broadway but had to turn it down due to conflict of schedule. She writes & produce her own music. She was signed to Epic records but after finding out that they want to package her like all the mainstream pop stars she want OUT. She didn't want to become a sell OUT.
She's full of passion, life and love. So down to earth so sweet so funny. She's perfect girl.

I wouldn't really want to see The Notebook in Broadway, but I'm a fan of Bethany's so I might go see it. It's only a few hours from here. She said in an interview a few years ago that she never wanted to be on TV, she always wanted to be on Broadway, so I'm totally game for supporting her.

As far as producers go…Bethany is very talented actress and musician and has plenty of theatre experience. And Aniello is a wonderful music producer who was responsible for the hit songs of Lifehouse, Bare Naked Ladies, etc etc. This could be a giant hit on broadway, with a possibility of multiple Tony nominations!!
