300 Plus 2?

It seems like a waste of time and money, but steps are being taken in working up the sequel to 300.

The author of the graphic novel that started the whole series has just finished his literary follow-up and so , there is specualationt that the story will soon be thrown into the Hollywood machine. Things are still up in the air, but former producers and writers are hoping to forge ahead to get the project underway.

Our question is: Do we really need this movie made?

No, we're really asking.

Ugh! Seriously?! Come on, they all fcking DIED at the end of the first movie. I mean, it's not like it was already very historically accurate… but I can't imagine a GOOD sequel to come out of this story. AND I don't see HOW they'd be able to get Gerard Butler to do it again… and he was the reason why most ppl enjoyed the movie (I personally bought a copy coz of the graphic gore)

Plus, come on Hollywood. I want something new, something original, and NOT a "new" remake of an old movie, or a "new" sequel. Sequels, pre-quels, and remakes do not count as something that's "new".

This is old news, the story is going to be during the time that the Spartans are fighting on land, the great battle of Thermopylae at sea was taking place, it's considered on of the best sea battles in history.

Hell yes! 300 was a fantastic movie and there is a HELL of a lot of history to tell (or use as base story material). I just travelled to Greece and Egypt and the history is endless. So many interesting stories, legends and lore. Enough material for 100 movies.

The "300" died. They ALL DIED - even their servants (look it up, it's true. Those guys weren't there alone). How do you do a sequel when everyone is dead? Get some original ideas!

i would definately watch another Greco-Presian war film. 300 was great, and pretty accurate. and its not like they're completely making up another story the greeks fought the persians at again at marathon and salamis

The reason the first one succeeded was because it looked unusual and it had a simple plat. It was like an unusually long usic video with lots of new kinds of special effects. The second one won't be as successful. It is old stuff now. No surprises. Plus if they let Zack Snyder do it, he will screw it up like he did Watchmen. Which ws shiteous! At least a sequel to 300 won't have Gerard Butler in it to scream and strut and spit when he talks.

no, we really do not need this movie made. Why is it whenever hollywood manages to not completly ruin an adaptation from a graphic novel, or a regular novel, and successfully create a movie which is enjoyable for fans and non-fans alike they feel the need to cash in and make a sequel which more times than not is a waste of time and money. As a fan 300 was an epic producion and I would hate to see it ruined by a sequel which couldn't possibly come close. Hollywood needs to learn when to tell it's not about the money it's about the fans of this graphic novel who were actually pleased with the way the movie was put together. We don't sequels, enough movies have been make a mockary of by their sequels, lets leave 300 out of it.

first instinct is NO!
BUT if they have the aftermath of what happened with repercussions following into today's beliefs of that Spartan era and they name the movie something entirely different than 300+2, then I would CONSIDER watching the sequel.

I loved 300, I own it and saw it in theaters twice. But I'd only watch the sequel if Gerard Butler was in it, and seeing as how his character died in the first one, not sure how that would work. He made that movie as great as it was.
