Steelers' QB To Speak Out About Assault Case

After remaining pretty mum about the whole thing, Ben Roethlisberger will be holding a press conference today to discuss the details of the sexual assault case being brought against him.
The press conference will begin at 11 am PT in Pittsburgh. Though he will be speaking out against the allegations (or confirming them, we'll find out soon enough), his reps have informed the press that he won't be taking any questions.

As a Pittsburgher, I would not be the least bit surprised if it is determined that he did this. As someone who has seen him in action (off the field - in the clubs), he is arrogant, obnoxious, and overbearing. Several friends of mine have been hit on by him, been called names by him, one was actually on her way home with him until he started getting too rough with her and she actually jumped out of the car at a stoplight (he had a driver) to get away. He is a football star. That does not mean he is a nice man. There have been stories about him on local message boards for years. He has a reputation for being a womanizer. The only thing that shocks me about this story is that he wasn't caught/accused sooner. My hope is that maybe now, other women will have the guts to come forward. He is worshipped as a God in this town… what woman in her right mind could come forward, knowing she'd just be eaten alive by the douchebag Steeler Nation?
