On a special episode of the Australian NRL Footy Show, a man is brought up on stage to propose to his girlfriend of 3 years in front of a crowd of thousands and millions of viewers at home only to be DENIED!
Quite dramatic, too!
The woman began to panic and shout "You cannot do this now" before running off stage.
Aren't you supposed to say "yes" and dump the poor bastard later?!

i watched this as it happened, i don't think it was faked, what reason would they have to fake it? ratings? doubt it, it was aired at about 11:30pm, if it was a ratings grab they would have put it on earlier before everyone goes to bed, because the Footy Show always goes about 1/2 hour to 45 mins over the advertised time. I feel sorry for the girl, i couldn't think of a more embaressing place to get proposed too…

If i were her, i would have just said yes on stage to avoid a TERRIBLY AWKWARD situation (much like the one that occured), and I would have just said NO as soon as the cameras were off!!!!!!

Seriously, just because something outrageous happens, you have to assume it's fake. Sure, you may think they are just acting, but not everyone expresses their feelings in your ideal way. The guy was probably heartbroken, and the girl was probably shocked. Maybe she just didn't like him enough and couldn't bear to give her life away to him. Anyways, the point is you can't just assume things. it makes you look like a moron. I bet you'll all feel like idiots if he issues a statement saying that this actually happened.

i live in australia and have seen this show before. the people that run this show are far from actors with any talent. they are all former nrl players or current ones. trust me they are definately not acting. they mainly talk about the games from the week. repeat again no way on earth is this an act, possibly the actual proposal man and woman but the people on the actual show

i was at that show the night they did it. it wasnt staged even though it looks it.
