"Chicagoland Dog Rescue (CDR) brought a few people together who had been doing rescue work on their own. Our common goal is to rescue dogs that suffer at the hands of cruel or ignorant owners, owner give-aways, or those that are homeless. We are a small group of volunteers who work full time jobs and try to help as many dogs as we can when we can. Chicagoland dog rescue is a shelter-less rescue. We board most of the dogs we take in at local shelters and vets. By helping as many dogs as we can, we keep them from being brought to various societies or kill shelters where 15,000 dogs are put to death daily in Illinois. With very limited resources, we try to medicate, socialize, and place dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes into homes as quickly as possible."

We adopted our 2-year-old lab mix from one, and I can't wait to adopt again.
The people running shelters like this really love animals, and need all the support they can get!
I think that anyone who wants to own an animal should adopt from a shelter . I adopted my dog from a damn puppy mill down south. She was 11 weeks old and was a complete mess,when I got her. It was just so sad. I've spent a small fortune,getting her healthy,but she's so worth it.
I wish they'd put these asshole breeders out of business.
