Cortazar Leaves Ungaro! Lindsanity to ensue?
Last we heard on the Esteban Cortazar front was his remark that "For now, I am here," in reference to rumors that he was leaving Emmanuel Ungaro.
As it turns out, "for now" seems to be the most important part of that statement. An announcement regarding their parting of ways is expected sometime today from the label.
Tension arose months before this between the head designer and the fashion house because Ungaro CEO Mounir Moufarrige wanted the next face of Ungaro to be a celebrity and had expressed particular interest in the trainwreck that is Lindsay Lohan. This was an unwelcome notion to Cortazar (understandably so, we might add), and the tumult began.
At this point, it's unclear who will replace Cortazar, where he will go, or whether or not Lindsanity will grace the glossy pages as the face of Emmanuel Ungaro.
It's a little bit evil, but we kind of hope she does, just because this is so…wonderful.

I understand Cortazar's position. He is colombian and his (our) country has been really affected by the war and violence between guerrillas and drug cartels for power. So chosing the poster child for drugs as a the image of the company is not ethical.
I will not buy a stitch of clothing from Ungaro as long as that pitiful excuse for a human is involved with the label. They may have lost a fan and customer.
