I don't think she failed AT ALL! Actually, I watched this yesterday on her GOOP website and thought she did rather well. I made this meal last night (after watching) and it was YUMMY! It also made her seem more down-to-earth and made me like her even more than I already did! YAY Gwyneth!!!
Well that's what happens to you have everything and you become bored. Not the best way for her challenge herself. Wait a minute. Don't boring people get bored? She never had a fighting chance.

She needs to stop. Please just stop. It's sad that people in America are so unfamiliar in a kitchen that they are finding this noble and endearing and defining it as COOKING. My whole family are chefs are cooks, and this is not cooking. This is frightening. Not because she is TRYING. I love people who like to cook and experiment, but she posted it like some wannabe foodnetwork star, or WORSE, like she's Martha Freaking Stewart. Not even in the same universe. Just stop.
Actually, I just watched the video and she didn't fail at all…I would call that a success!

I watched that whole stupid thing waiting for her to royally eff up. What was the "fail" part. I was thinking that she was gonna chop her finger off or the chicken was gonna be all bloody or that she would drop the whole pan on the floor. Nothing happened. She made a freaking roast chicken w/potatoes and a salad AND a dressing….
So how do I get back the 7 1/2 minutes that I just wasted watching her make chicken?? The easiest thing to cook besides grilled cheese. Although, I thought that Gwynie was skinny. Check out the love handles at 48 seconds.

why do they not show her washing her hands after touching the chicken (then the herbs, pans, salt/pepper, etc)? that is a major no no to cross contaminate your whole freaking kitchen!

The chichen looks raw at the end . Needs some more golden color to be roasted . But nothing wrong with her try . What is wrong is to pick on her all the time with no reason .

Perez, stop picking on Gwyneth. She's got the best pair of legs in Hollywood, and lots of style, something you don't know anything about. A-list celebrity cooking dinner for her husband Coldplay rockstar and their baby. I think it's something that should be admired.
I don't think it was that bad, actually - it's a really simple meal that probably everyone and their mother already knows how to cook, but … that was supposedly the point - to show easy meals. The only thing that totally grossed me out is that she didn't wash her hands well each time after handling the chicken, and then she touched things all over the kitchen - the olive oil, the salt / pepper grinders, her towels and oven mits, her other food, including fresh herbs, etc., that she then put in her salad. Raw chicken has salmonella bacteria, and you absolutely need to wash your hands every single time you handle it before touching anything else!
I made this meal after watching on GOOP and it was really good. My kids loved it which is a huge bonus!

This looks like the first meal she ever cooked. She acts like people never had chicken and potatos before? I guess that is what happens when you have money you are out of touch with reality. I thought she only ate vegtables anyway, someone should tell her Chicken is not a vegtable.

Did anyone else notice that she was pawing at that raw chicken for 10 minutes, and then begun handling knives, bottles, etc…..then she starts making a salad on the same cutting board that the disgusting raw chicken was on? WTF! Salmonella much? Nice instructional video, douchebag.
I get the feeling she is anorexic, or depressive. Anyway, I get this unhealthy mental feeling about her.

I don't understand why you hate her so much. I've worked with her before and she's very sweet, looks you in the eye and has no pretense whatsoever. She was always with her kid, who is very cute. She's nice. She's smart. She's a natuaral talent. Why would you not like her? I just don't get it.

the meal seems simple..i am sure even good….but….she looks and sounds like an idiot…..granted she is an actor…and trying to make it very "special" talking about watching cooking channels with her dad (uh…what cooking channels were on in the 70's and 80's when cable was not really a thing…) the whole thing seems very insincere…..just my opinion
I'm sure it was edited out for times sake or something, but she really needed to wash her hands. When I watch a cooking show/video, I like to see soap and bubbles after the handling of raw meat. It's reassuring to all us obsessive compulsive foodies at home! Side note: I like Gwyneth, and wish Perez would leave her be.
However, she's kinda cute!
Cutting veggies and touching salt & pepper shakers where there was raw chicken made me sick–I couldn't even concentrate. I clorox anything that is touched by chicken. Also, it was not a 'one pot meal' when you cook the potatoes in another pot first.
Well you have to give her an A for effort. The chicken did not look done but what can ya do she never claimed to be Rachel Ray!
I think its nice that she is trying to promote healthy eating habits in a simple easy way for working mothers & fathers. Not a hard recipe but does it have to be?

I subscribe to GOOP and some of her recipes look really good. I haven't tried any of them yet but plan to someday. Thank you Gwyneth !
As for chicken, you can buy it already roasted at the grocery store and take it home still warm, it's so much easier!

Other than touching her salmonella hands on everything in the kitchen, and then using a ginormous bowl to mix a couple of ounces of salad dressing … the meal looked great.
I hope that salad was just for her. Did anyone else see that lettuce fall out of her mouth and into the bowl?

I can't believe the hateful comment, Perez! Gwyneth is sweet and down to Earth. I love her website Goop, her newsletter and now her videos!
She looks happy and is sharing what she loves and connecting with her fans in a wonderful way. What other star shows you where she buys her favorite clothes, what she likes to eat, where she likes to go and shares her friends with her fans and all of the advice they give each other, allows you into her home? And she is an awesome actress.
You have a great site and up to date gossip but your site is filled with filth and hate and lies. I only come here for the updates and pictures but your cruelty and meanness to kids like Rumor Willis, and Miley Cirus to name a few reveals your the ugliness and pettiness of your heart. It's getting harder and harder to come here at all.

Re: beeeeemer – How old are you? Do you know how long Julia Child's show was around? There were cooking shows on TV that my parents liked to watch back when I had a bedtime! You shouldn't make sweeping generalities without the research to gack up your opinion. The family was also a very tight-nit group and Gwyn and her father were very close. He only died a few or so years ago; When Gwyn made the comment "back in the day," she could have been referring to 6 years ago for all we know.
I do think she's pretentious, but I don't think this was bad. She wasn't trying to be martha stewart and she wasn't claiming to be a chef making a grandiose meal. She presented it as a mom showing off a new recipe and I think it worked for her.
I love the maple syrup in the vinaigrette.

The meal is not my cup of tea but I'm sure it's not bad. I might even try that potato thing she did that she "learned in England". The lack of hand washing gave me the willies but I hope that it was just not shown in the final clip. Anyone notice that she said "garlics" for "garlic cloves" and "watercrest" for "watercress"? Aww. Dumb and endearing.

I don't think she did a bad job. She's showing people how to throw together a simple, healty meal at home. With the exception of boning the chicken, which takes a bit of practice anyone can do this. It takes a little more effort to actually make something than it does to dial the local pizza place but the flavour is well worth it.

I don't see anything wrong with this whatsoever. She's a working mother and made a meal that looked absolutely delicious. Not sure about you, but it looked a lot like something my mom would make, which shows that Gwyneth is just as human as us all.

obviously this video was edited and cut out boring stuff like hand washing and all that. cmon people, it's just common sense about the dangers with raw chicken, not every cooking clip needs to include that. it's only there to emphasize for the fucking idiots who don't know how to properly cook.

That chicken wasn't done at the end! It looked practically raw! and She said that she doesn't eat meat and she eats raw foods to stay skinny so why is she even making this? As for the people who are clearly lying about making this crap…HOW DID YOU? she didn't really even give measurements and details about what she was doing! Did you lick your fingers after touching raw chicken and dipping you finger in the the salad dressing? NO ONE PREPARES FOOD DRESSED LIKE THAT! Not even Martha! Second, she has said before that she tries to stay on a raw food diet to stay slim…does that mean that her husband and kids do, as well? Just because she may not eat it is no reason to let her family go hungry. Third, have you ever cooked before (other than frozen dinners in the microwave)? If you had, then the whole "licking her fingers" thing would be no big deal at all. When I cook, and especially when I bake, I will occasionally taste the sauce that I am preparing to make sure that the seasoning is correct. She never claimed to be a world-renowned chef. And she doesn't serve her food to 150 guests at a five-star restaurant either. She said she likes to cook and was sharing a quick recipe with other working moms. If you don't like it, don't make it…you probably find the kitchen, anyway. And lastly, that video was clearly edited. If you watch it again, you can see the differences…and there are two cutting boards used. Stick to what you know, bogo and if you are going to speak up about something, make sure you know what you're talking about. Otherwise, you'll just make a fool of yourself.
